He didn't mention it in the video, but he thought there was a huge gap between Strouds pocket presence throughout his career and the Georgia game. It turned out that Strouds pocket presence in the Georgia game is what he's shown in the NFL.
Love your analysis bro. You helped me have a fantastic Dynasty league draft last year that included Kenneth Walker, Garrett Wilson and Christian Watson, then pick up/trade for Jameson Williams and Tyler Allgeier
Holy fuck, I haven't looked at much of Bryce Young's tape because I know we won't get him in Carolina, but that sack juke at 35:07 was some Spider-Man shit
Completely agree ab Bryce young. I go to UT and I was sitting right by the field goals and the throws he can make with DT’s barreling down on him is insane. Hate that we lost but tip of the cap
Clayton tune is a true sleeper , so proud of you for having a solid take on him. I think he will learn to be a better surveyor at the next level w proper position coaching.
As a Louisville fan, I know that Malik Cunningham is a frickin athletic kid. However, he doesn’t have the greatest passing skill as he got almost half of his touchdowns on the ground. Although he did not have great weapons throughout his career. If he gets drafted, he will be a LATE pick but I would love to see him play a couple games in the big leagues
I've seen Aiden O'Connell make some absolutely pin point perfect passes and do it with some regularity. I don't really think he'll ever be a starter in the league, but I think he could definitely make it as an adequate backup that could start a few games and give your team a reasonable chance. But I'm sure the same can be said about a lot of the other QBs I haven't seen a ton of. Only so many back up QB spots in the league.
Absolute favorite draft videos and it’s not even close.. Thanks again Franchise guy!! Your videos are so informative, thorough and even though you may not take enough credit, very accurate.. literally makes my draft season
Bryce Young's command of the pocket is the best I've seen from a college QB in the last several years. I don't watch the NFL, I'm strictly a college football fan, but I would imagine that it will translate well. He just knows when and, just as importantly, when not to move and where; whether it's stepping up inside or bouncing outside. It's this presence that makes him deadly but when combined with all of his other great traits he is special. I can only imagine how insane the Bama offense would've been if he had the WRs Bama bad a few years ago.
Marcus' rankings were really, really good! Out of the his 10 best quarterback prospects, 8 were actually picked later among the first 10 quarterback picks. Only his 10th overall Jaren Hall would eventually be picked as the 12th quarterback in the draft and Marcus' 6th best ranked Quarterback Tanner McKee would later be picked as the 13th Quarterback. Tanner McKee was also Marcus' biggest deviation of the actual draft picks. Most other Quarterbacks would eventually be picked at exactly the same rank Marcus had predicted or almost there. I will list the actual picking ranks and Marcus' predicted ranks behind each QBs' name: Young picked as1st, ranked by M. as 1st, Stroud as 2nd/ 2nd, Richardson 3rd/4th, Levis 4th/3rd, Hooker 5th/5th, McKee 13th/6th ( biggest deviation from his prediction ) , . Tune 9th/7th, Bennett 7th/8th, O'Connell 8th/9th, Hall12th/10th. As the 6th QB Jake Haener got drafted, whom Marcus had not ranked among his 10 best QBs in the draft. Regards!
Hooker’s floor is a Tyrod Type imo. I’m a huge Hokie fan, and to see the difference in him at Tech and Tennessee is incredible. Tech should’ve played him more, but we used him more as a runner at times then a passer. I think his ability to adapt to different schemes is gonna help him at the next level. I’d be more willing to wait a year on him then take Will Levis top 10.
Great video, fantastic analysis as always. Was hoping to see Richardson above Levis because I think he is phenomenal but I definitely think it's close. Looking forward to the rest of the rankings!
I think his analysis was accurate tho. Richardson at this moment isn't as good, but the ceiling is nearly infinite. He could end up being the best/2nd best QB in the class, he just needs work, and a team that already has a suitable starter.
Stroud. Stroud. Stroud. On his toes and finds his 3rd receiver. The, he runs for 34 yards. CJ Stroud is just insane. If he has a decent line, he'd be scary.
Watch the Ravens bring back Joe on a 1 year deal and draft this guy. I have no idea what Lamar is doing with this contract negotiations, but it doesn’t look good.

The only 2 thing the bears would be getting is a better passer with Young and a reset rookie contract but problem is they won’t get near as much draft capital as they are looking at for the 1st overall and with so many QB needy teams they could end up with 3 1st next potentially. It’s not a hot take it’s one that’s been brewing since the end of the season
Anthony Richardson reminds me of Jackson. He can just take off and run. Playground stuff. Raw talent with an upside. Late first round or early second round. Do you agree?
Loved the video overall Marcus, but as an Alabama fan, to say that Bryce did not take many big hits is not accurate. He was getting LIT UP all year. Just watch some of the Tennessee game to see that. The last two years we have let up more sacks than ever before in the Saban era.
Lol only young in the top 5 knowing that there was a 99.9% chance 3 QB's were going in the top 5 with Carolina, Houston and Indy. Paired with the fact that in today's NFL, GM's will always reach for QB's cause the position is the most important position when it comes to winning. Having a good QB in the most important position in any and all sports.
If you watch film from 2021 you’ll see his pocket presence. He also was hurt with turf toe at that time, so that was a contributing factor in his 2022 game.
Agree with your views on Hooker. As a Lions fan, if we could get in late day 2 or day 3, I'd love it. With Goff, he could redshirt for most of the season. And I'd have no illusions on him, he'd be a great backup and fill in starter for injuries/emergency.

Yeah tbh i see the Lions, Seahawks or Miami as the best landingspots for these young QB's. Time to sit and potential to win a QB battle over time. Lions have a great O-line, Miami has an elite WR duo and the Seahawks have the potential to build a sick defense and will have a better O-line.

Haener processes too slowly, as evidenced by his sack numbers. It's one thing to say a prospect will have to improve on post-snap at the NFL level, but to need to work on collegiate level pre-snap identification... well, you won't make top 10 in many classes with that.

If they don't sell out, leave EVERYTHING on the field to go get #1 pick, (including potentially offering Jonathan Taylor or any other of their franchise players, if that's what it takes) AND GO GET BRYCE YOUNG...then in my opinion they are not who they say they are! Jim Irsay..."we're after multiple Lombardi's". Chris Ballard, "we'll move heaven and earth to go get our guy" (qb in this draft). JUST DO IT!!
You've had the best evaluation of Hendon I've heard. Everyone I've heard talk about him thinks he's top three or undrafted which are both ridiculous. I think he is too good of a competitor, to the point where he puts his future in danger, which may be seen as blind stupidity. I think a team like the ravens or browns could be a great landing spot because both teams tend to have decent to good O lines. I think he's in the same boat in terms of chances with Tanner Mckee.
As an TAMU fan I see a lot of Bryce young in SEC. I just think he’s a dawg. Same mentality as Jalen hurts, calm cool collected. As for his size, I’ve seen him get rocked and get right back up he’s as tough as they come. He’ll be fun to watch in nfl.
Aidan reminds me of Trevor Siemian. Same mechanics, same process, same with the turnover worthy plays, can make reads but often throws into coverage. He can get it done, but can also lose you games.
My rankings are almost the same as you except I have Jaren Hall ahead of Hooker(also have Richardson and Levis flipped). My only major ? About what you said for Hall is accuracy, which I had as one of his prospect strengths
My top 10 quarterbacks in the 2023 draft 1. Bryce Young comp Joe burrow 2. CJ Stroud Comp Matthew Stafford 3. Will Levis Comp Floor Carson Wentz Ceiling Justin Herbert 4. Anthony Richardson Comp Lamar Jackson 5. Tanner McKee Comp Jared Goff 6. Hendon Hooker Comp Marcus Mariota 7. Jake Haener Comp Taylor Heinicke 8. Aidan O’Connell comp n/a 9. Stetson Bennett Comp N/a 10. Tyson Bagent comp n/a
Here’s what scares the shit outta me about Hendon Hooker. That offense that Huepel runs is a cheat code offense. Hooker was terrible before this season, hell he lost the starting job when he first transferred in. None of the Huepel/Lebby/Frost guys have had success. It’s reminiscent of the Leach guys in the 00’s and 10’s. (Funny enough Huepel played QB under Leach) - one big plus with him is he is really high IQ. That whole Leach tree gives a lot of freedom on the QBs to run the offense Perfect fit for him (imo) is Philly, Seattle or the Giants. Needs a perfect offense that he can execute at a really high level.
I agree that if I was the Bears I’d take Bryce Young and trade Fields. Not only is Young clearly superior but would restart the salary cap clock to 5 years. Fields will only be cheap for another 3 years and that Bears roster needs time to get competitive again.
Not sure you will be getting a GM job soon, but what trade value do you think you would get for fields? Because for Bryce Young there currently probably going to get two first and two seconds or more. Not sure Fields is getting you that in return.
Great takes with detail. However, I find it interesting how so many people are dissing Justin Fields. Fields ran for his life almost all last season. Bryce Young isn’t going to avoid the rush in the NFL as much as you think bro.
if the vikings could get richardson i think that would be the ideal fit. learn under oconnell and cousins, allow time for him to sit, and he will be in a creative system willing to adjust and to create a system to fit him
I like your Will Levis comparison to Colts Carson Wentz. He's a surface level good stats QB and some stat nerds will prop him up hard (great TD/INT ratio, High pass %, etc). But when you look at the film and the situational football say pressures against 3rd and mid/long vs better defenses and when the offense around him isn't up to par, his weaknesses are going to be further exposed. Ultimately a guy that is worth building around for 5 years on his first contract the get the most out of him and worse case moving on to (hopefully) someone better when the pieces assembled around him on offense are at a better quality. Despite of how I feel about Bryce Young's limitations, I'm def convinced his floor is higher as a small QB prospect than Kyler or even Russell Wilson in his early years. That may be enough to change the Bears' regime minds and their long term vision for Fields. Which could mean their investment for WR talents in the next few years will be more rewarding with a more capable pocket passer.
Dude that’s what I been saying since regular season ended. Got right to the film work for my Raiders. Dude can stand tall in the pocket, has a cannon arm, very accurate. Can scramble and make accurate throws on the run. I think he’ll end up being the 3rd best qb out this draft
Stroud pocket presence D+ was wild then and it’s wilder now
Idk if “Jared Goff on Wheels” is a compliment or a diss either way

Love your vids so much man, another great watch
Great job, never thought of comp Stroud to Goff. 🤙
I projected Bennett sixth rd to Baltimore, so agreed
I met Jaren Hall working in Provo, he’s a really cool dude
Man looking back on this I feel like if Bryce was 6’3 he would’ve been seen as the greatest prospect ever
My top 10 quarterbacks in the 2023 draft
1. Bryce Young comp Joe burrow
2. CJ Stroud Comp Matthew Stafford
3. Will Levis Comp Floor Carson Wentz Ceiling Justin Herbert
4. Anthony Richardson Comp Lamar Jackson
5. Tanner McKee Comp Jared Goff
6. Hendon Hooker Comp Marcus Mariota
7. Jake Haener Comp Taylor Heinicke
8. Aidan O’Connell comp n/a
9. Stetson Bennett Comp N/a
10. Tyson Bagent comp n/a
Why do you think CJ is like stafford? i've heard people say that, and i don't get specifically why?
Solid
Bruh 🤦♂️
Appreciate all the effort for these vids!
Hey TFG, any idea when you plan to release your top 10 RB rankings for this class? Thanks!
That whole Leach tree gives a lot of freedom on the QBs to run the offense
Perfect fit for him (imo) is Philly, Seattle or the Giants.
Tanner McKee sounds like a perfect qb for the niners scheme imo, if they don't get DTR
pretty much nailed Jaren Hall
Great takes with detail. However, I find it interesting how so many people are dissing Justin Fields. Fields ran for his life almost all last season. Bryce Young isn’t going to avoid the rush in the NFL as much as you think bro.
Really excited for the CB list whenever that drops
if the vikings could get richardson i think that would be the ideal fit. learn under oconnell and cousins, allow time for him to sit, and he will be in a creative system willing to adjust and to create a system to fit him
They should use your grading template in madden when they give qb ratings
hey TFG, did you make a madden draft class for xbox this year? if not are there any you recommend for franchise mode
You think Hendon Hooker would be a good fit for the Rams in the 3rd? He can sit behind Stafford for a year to develop.
As a Raiders fan, Once you said no pocket presence i just imagined Derek Carr 😂
I think Jake Haener is gonna turn out to be a lot better than most think. Kid has all the intangibles and can make nfl level throws
Dude that’s what I been saying since regular season ended. Got right to the film work for my Raiders. Dude can stand tall in the pocket, has a cannon arm, very accurate. Can scramble and make accurate throws on the run. I think he’ll end up being the 3rd best qb out this draft
Those 6’6 and above QBs don’t pan out lol
Spot on on Richardson much to like would have to see how intelligent he is.
