You’re breakdown of Latu makes me even happier that the colts drafted him. Colts haven’t had an elite rusher for some time and this guy could very well be that elite guy that we’ve needed off the edge
@@dakraa8187But health concerns play a big role in determining where a player goes. Many teams are not willing to take a risk on choosing a player who has experienced a serious injury in the past.
More guys to look out for in mid rounds: Javon Solomon from Troy, Mohamed Kamara from Colorado State, and the Murphy Bros. Gabriel and Grayson. All of them have some good potential in the 3-4 rounds.
@@RMV1560 Brett did a nice job highlighting him. My algorithim (AARP - Athletically Adjusted Pressure Rate) really likes Kamara. The most surprising fact is that Kamara put up a nearly 19% pressure rate on a sub-.500 team--meaning his team didn't have the number of quality pass rush opportunities (3rd and long) that better teams have.
As a UCLA fan I can absolutely get behind having Laiatu Latu as the #1 edge rusher in the draft this year. He was literally everywhere on the field when the bruins were on defense, and he was in the backfield more often than he wasn’t. Whoever drafts him is going to get a GREAT player.
Great work per usual Marcus. I really appreciate, and feel that it is rarer to see, perspectives such as yours on Darius Robinson - I think it would be easier for others to go into the film with a sense of bias and let it cloud their grading, but for you it is the opposite - what you saw on tape was the opposite of what your thoughts going into it were and you didn't let your previous thoughts get in the way. I imagine it would be easy to want to validate your original thoughts but you take the harder road and it leads to a truer grade imo. Keep up the great work man, enjoy Mexico
Finally some Jonah Ellis respect. It’s crazy to see how low he is on many people’s draft boards. While watching his tape I was like how do people not have this guy going in the first two rounds.
@brettrollberg4863 I'm by no means a scout, but I've been following drafts religiously since 99...and being a Browns fan, that's usually all I have to look forward to haha but I love the back end of this draft...there's a ton of talent that I've watched whom are pegged late. But I guess everyone has an opinion
You've strengthened my belief that the Bears should draft Caleb Williams #1 and Laiatu Latu #9. What an opportunity to get top tier prospects at the two most important positions on offense and defense. Follow the 2023 Texans model - Stroud and Anderson.
My top 11 edge rushers in the 2024 NFL draft 1. Jared Verse 2. Dallas Turner 3. Laitu Latu 4. Darius Robinson 5. Adisa Issac 6. Chop Robinson 7. Bralen Trice 8. Chris Braswell 9. Jonah Ellis 10. Marshawn Kneeland 11. Gabriel Murphy

Good list, especially Ellis. Verse reminds me of Khalil Mack. I can't put Latu ahead of Verse and Turner because of medical but if he stays healthy will be a stud.
As a panthers fan I was more interested in the wide receiver video at first but now we probably have the worst pash rushing group in the NFL and we really have to get one or two of these top guys if possible
Good stuff. I understand your thoughts on Darius Robinson's bull rush eval, but Power C+ in the Pass Rush category is hard to get on board with. Power is how he wins along with some of the moves from what I see. He's so disruptive and strong in his movements he can overwhelm O-lineman.
How likely do you think it is that miami takes one of these guys with Chubb and Phillips coming off injury and AVG leaving? And who do you think they would take if they do?
As a big Utah guy I love the Elliss respect, I think him right behind Chop is fair however Chop was more productive and has way better tools and upside so him over Chop is a little careless coming from me. He does have a high floor for sure though love the shoutout, he isn’t getting the respect he deserves for sure
That jonah ellis spin move is really interesting. It just looks different, almost like slow motion, very deliberate. Im not sure how i feel about it. I think i like it and that it will "speed up" with more reps and become even more effective.
There is no box for health issues. When you have players like Latu who have experienced health issues, it is an important factor that should be addressed when ranking players.
Quick question, where do you get some of your height measurements from? It's a bit different than the numbers from the NFL combine. Jared Verse is 6'3 7/8ths which is taller than 6'3.5. Chop Robinson is also taller than Dallas Turner at 6'2 7/8ths
I'll be honest I really like Marshawn Kneeland. Nice and big, powerful hands, some counter moves, defends the run, a lot of teams need a guy like that. Decent developmental pick. Austin Booker is really interesting. I was very disappointed as a KU fan that he went pro, he's going to get drafted lower than he could have with another year in college. He only played 2 years, effectively (R-So), and was a transfer into Kansas last season. He seems like he needs some physical development more than anything. With his frame and length, 242 lb is flat out thin. I think he profiles more as a 4-3 DE than a standup edge, but he's got to add a lot of mass to get there. You are right in that he is very skilled, and he had a lot of splash plays for KU during their breakout season this past year. Selfishly, I would like to see him land on my Chiefs and get coached up by Joe Cullen.
