Super Powers will always be my #1. The standard in which I compare all toy lines. I wish I still had my Supermobile. It was so silly but I loved that thing. Dat box art!
Man I just love these Super Powers Collection reviews! They just take me back and give me the feels. Best toy line ever! Thanks Brad. Have a "DC day" dude! 👏✌️
I bought this JUST TO UNBOX IT for my own UA-cam channel. Had it for a while, saw no one else had unboxed or reviewed it for a few Years. Finally it came time to film the unboxing (I’ve got a big collection of retro toys, that my daughter doesn’t want as an inheritance). Looking for a certain commercial for the Supermobile & BAM ... your review pops up. I’m not mad. I’m actually VERY HAPPY, as your review was great (you can tell you are a great fan & love it) & now I’ll just keep it in mint for a few more years 🤗
Real Hector Canales Hey man, if me making this video enables you to hold off on opening up this awesome classic Super Powers gem then that makes me happy. Some day though you know that things coming out though! A glorious day it will be indeed!
Greatest toy line EVER. Period. I had this ship and I lived for these too and LOVED the commercials... Only fgs I never had were Shazam!, Cyborg and Clark Kent. I had EVERYONE else.
The old Kenner Super Powers through Batman returns (1984-1992) is still my absolute favorite style and scale of DC comics action figure: Simple clean, but detailed iconic sculpts with unobtrusive action features. All the awesome Superman stuff on the drawing board/prototype phase never going to production. My dream would be a toy company doing a Super Powers revival line with reisues of the vintage toys, and making figures of all the stuff they never made, or should have made. I know DCUC has done this to an extent, as well the Imaginext Superfrined's line, but I hold out for the "real" thing one day, even if only in my mind.
Shawn I loved the Kenner Dark Knight Collection themed figures too. They were another large obsession of mine. Never before or since was I so happy to have a bajillion variants. Lol.
The color variants are so much more muted then what came later. It has some of the most appropriate parts reuse in Kenner history. I just wish they would have a couple less batman variants, and made more Jokers in their place. I was always bugged as a kid they didn't make "Mime Joker" or a Purple joker with cloth coat from the film.
This brings me some nice memories of simpler times. I owned this one, along with Superman, and also the Lex Soar 7 (with Lex too) back in the day. I had plenty of fun with those.
I remember finding an abandoned Supermobile somewhere as a kid. I can't remember the exact circumstances, but I remember being thrilled and incredulous that someone apparently hadn't wanted it.
I got this for my 7th birthday in '86. Woke up at some early of the morning and found the toy at the end of my bed, but found it odd that Superman needed a vehicle. It was relegated to an aerial vehicle for my Super Powers Batman, with Robin hanging below in one of those 'villain captivators' .
I never even knew that thing existed. Super Powers Superman was my favorite action figure as a kid until the sad day when I lost him. I was devastated. 5-6 year old me cried and cried. My mom went out everywhere looking for a replacement, but the closest we ever managed to find was a Super Powers Flash figure. I liked my Flash figure, but it just wasn't the same. Then one day about 3 to 4 years later I'm sitting in my room when this little tractor trailer toy that sat up in my window caught my eye. I instantly knew that Superman was inside it. I had been playing one day and Superman ended up getting trapped inside of the trailer somehow, and immediately after shutting him up inside it I had been called away and forgot completely about it. All those years of enjoyment lost all because I have a crap memory. At least I found him though.
OMG you lost him and my heart sank with you 5 year old heart. I lost my first Superman’s cape in the school park in 86. I was really wrecked too. Never found it so Over the next 4 years ended up trading and buying up every Superman I could find from every kid In a one mile radius of my house. Glad you found yours though. I love that feeling when you unexpectedly find something you lost that is important to you.
Man, I really admire the passion that you have for the Super Powers line! These are some of my all-time favorite action figures, I love these so much! I was 11 years old when these were released and at the time, I was able to snatch up 8 figures from the first wave. I never owned any more figures...'til now!! I purchased 17 figures (including the entire 1st wave), the Batmobile and my holy grail the Hall of Justice on eBay!! I had wanted the HOJ so badly as a kid but, I never got it then but now, fast forward 35 years later, I was finally able to get it!. I just received Kalibak and Stepenwolf today, also courtesy of eBay. Awesome, awesome video, brutha!! 👍
@@BradTheDCUniverseGeek You could accomplish the same thing with a mint, complete, out of the box example. It would be cheaper, allowing more resources for future videos. Just something worth considering. Buying sealed examples and opening them is just throwing money away.
While I appreciate your forward thinking about the financial impact of this video on the overall collectible and monetary value of this Supermobile I didn't buy this for the monetary value. I would have opened this just the same but I also wanted to authentically open a genuine unopened Supermobile for the Super Friends. I had never opened one from the box and put all of the stickers on and I'm betting most of my viewers hadn't either. So although I understand your sentiment I would disagree that the same thing would have been accomplished. It would have been a completely different video for myself and my subscribers.
Good for you for opening it! I have a large collection of Super Powers figures and every single one was purchased MOC and OPENED. Nothing beats being the first one to free that pristine mint figure from it's package and ENJOY it as it was meant to be. I collect TOYS, not PACKAGES!
Have you ever wondered why Superman needs a flying machine, is it “kryptonite proof” because it’s the only reason I can see needing it? I loved this line from the 80s but the original line was impossible to find back in the day, Kaybee toys was a big carrier of Super Powers
I'm a little too young (20 some odd years) to... How do I say this... Be able to collect them when they were being sold originally, but my local Comic Store still sells packaged ones so I'll need to get some and as always great video Brad :)
You wouldn’t ask why he needs this is you saw him use it in the SuperFriends. I just watched him fly into a black hole with that thing in an episode of SuperFriends and emerge by Krypton where he wouldn’t even have flight ability, and use the hands to grab a canister from inside the Kryptonian Sun.
Your videos are awesome, so much love for DC figures... Really like It. Btw, what are your thoughts about the new Multiverse figures (Lobo, KC Superman, Impulse)?
It's funny how we as kinds used to be happy and satisfied with simple toys. Now we as adults want everything super detailerd, articulated and to be logic(?) jajaja
Omg the catalogs back then rocked!
Awesome! Love the SuperPowers collection!

Thanks Brad. Super Powers was my StarWars. My most favorite commercial was the one with Jimmy(Marc McClure)Olsen.
Putting the sticker on the supermobile feels like putting a sticker on a lego set!

Thanks for the video!

They started so many DC kids collections out right 👍
This takes me back to when I was about 5, love these!!!
Chris Ingram Totally agree. Felt like that 5 year old boy while opening it. :-)
I remember finding an abandoned Supermobile somewhere as a kid. I can't remember the exact circumstances, but I remember being thrilled and incredulous that someone apparently hadn't wanted it.
Maybe they asked, what would superman need with an automobile?
I'm glad you opened it up. It deserves to see the light of day/to be played with.😁

I had the superMobile back in the day, you're damn lucky to find one boxed! 👍

WOW !!!!!!!!!
My heart stopped lol!
For a toy a few years older than me, this is actually pretty cool
I can't believe you opened it up, You're insane. LOL
Mike Torre The things I do for my subscribers! 😆😜🤪

@@BradTheDCUniverseGeek NOW IT'S FULL OF GERMS! SUPER GERMS!

Great video!! This brings back so many memories!
I had this as a kid. Nice throw back Brad
Wow Brad! It looks awesome! A man after my own heart
4:13 I felt a disturbance in the force. As if a million MOC collectors cried out in terror and suddenly… silence
Great video
Simplemente Epic 👍🏼
This is one of the coolest things Woooo.
I remember a darkseid vehicle? Would love to see a review of that!!
Chris Ingram If I can get my hands on the Darkseid Destroyer you bet I’ll do a review!
I remember this I'm 41 years old
Im curiously awaiting your review of the Mcfarlane toys re-release of the original supermobile.
Label 3, right console. You wouldn’t want Superman to get in and realize his consoles were on the wrong side!
Have you ever wondered why Superman needs a flying machine, is it “kryptonite proof” because it’s the only reason I can see needing it? I loved this line from the 80s but the original line was impossible to find back in the day, Kaybee toys was a big carrier of Super Powers
The original Supermobile was used to shield Supes from Kryptonite and to fight Amazo. I sure wish there was a 6” scale classic Supermobile.
Wow 2:38 and 2:41 I couldn't believe my 👀s. I had to screen shot that. Kenner was a quality company, no doubt.
I got that for my 3rd or 4th birthday.
Then it was a good third or fourth birthday indeed!
awesome

And in the show, Supes pronounces it like “super mo-ble.”
It also could double as the pod he came to earth in
Your videos are awesome, so much love for DC figures...
Really like It.
Btw, what are your thoughts about the new Multiverse figures (Lobo, KC Superman, Impulse)?
Roma Empire I’m pretty stoked about all of those figures. As a kid of the 80’s and 90’s I’ve been waiting for those characters.
Brad The DC Universe Geek are you going to make a video about that info?
Just purchased both the lex soar 7 and supermobile mib from ebay👊🏼😊👊🏼
I couldn't even watch this video...the emotion was too much for me.
It's funny how we as kinds used to be happy and satisfied with simple toys. Now we as adults want everything super detailerd, articulated and to be logic(?) jajaja
We APPRECIATED things back then - EVERYTHING. We're all spoiled a-holes nowadays.
I had a lot of these figures plus the hall of justice...I never understood tho why it was yellow and not white!!?
Haha. I never really thought about it as a kid. I remember wondering why the jail cells were so small. Hehe.
I had that 😭😭😭😭 memories
I wished it had arms. My Corgi had it.
You should use tweezers to place stickers.
I'll keep that in mind for retro vehicles :)
Should compare this to the McFarlane SuperMobile, which actually has the mechanical arms depicted in the show.
How much did this set you back if you don't mind telling??
Chris Ingram I believe it was around $60 plus shipping. I pretty lucked out at that price.
REALLY? That's it!?
Kewl!!
Rotflmao! I love the supermobile!!!! An insane idea but awesome!!!!!
COOL!!!
Let’s ask the real question. Who did you decide to win?
For what Superman wants a vehicle ?
For toy sales !!
