LOL thanks guys! This is a fun line to collect and I am far from an expert. I made this video because nobody else is willing to do comprehensive guide. Hope it was helpful
To be fair, Hal Jordan's Green Lantern more closely resembles any iteration of the Joker over the Riddler. Hands down. Case closed. Little known fact: The Clark Kent mail away figure that Kenner released was a head swap and repaint of the Hawkman body.
I started collecting this line finally because of Tod MacFarlane. I was born in 84 but grew up with the ToyBiz Batman and DC figures. I mostly got Ninja Turtles as a kid. Started collecting those again earlier this year. Now have to collect Both Super Powers new and old. Thank you for the run down of figures, I'll use this as my guide.
Great retrospective review. I came late to the party and a was lucky to get the first wave of heroes before the McFaralne announcement. I got the Kenner Batmobile too. It’s a fun line and looks incredible in a display
These figures came out after my childhood days were fading. I was heading into High School and girls and cars became my new favorite thing. Back in the 70's I was a HUGE FAN of the Mego Superheroes action figures. I had every one of them, even the mail-in Kid-Flash, Aqualad, Wonder-Girl, and Speedy, were released as special mail in figures, and I loved them all! I even had the Planet of the Apes action figures and playsets as well. The Knights of the Round Table. Sir Lancelot, The Black Knight, etc. But later on after these figures had been out for a while I saw how unique they were. The smaller size, like the Star Wars figures, and the 5 POA as well. But these figures looked really good. The Mego's lineup had issues with the Superheroes logos falling off since they were stickers. The \_S_/ on Superman, the 🦇🦇on🦇Batman🦇🦇, the ®️ on Robin and the Marvel characters also had issues. The Fantastic 4️⃣ logos also fell off. 🕷🕸Spider-Man's🕸🕷 logo was actually sewed into his suit. Iron-Man's blaster on his chest was also sewed on but the 🟡yellow🟡dot🟡 was a sticker inside of the plastic circular blaster. One of the few that could be fixed with glue. These however didn't have any of those issues at all. I was bummed out that I didn't get at least a few of these figure, and now they are insanely high priced. Figures, no pun intended.
The Lex Luthor of the Super Powers line predates the Byrne/Wolfman retcon of LL. Luthor and Brainiac were revised in the 80s in Action Comics #544 and designed by George Perez. For further information consult the DC omnibus The Fourth World volume 2. Which also includes all three Super Powers DC mini series.
Pretty sure that for Red Tornado, you squeeze the arms and the lower half spins in a tornado fashion. Also, this vid reminds me that I actually had soooo many of these growing up. Nice collection! Really wanted steppenwolf but my neighbor never wanted to let his go.
This was a bittersweet video for me. I desperately wanted to go to Mego Meet but was laid up by the flu. This video was the closest I could get. 😢 I desperately want a Tombs of The Blind Dead figure now!! Thanks for being you, Brian! Keep on rocking the great content! The Marvel figure I'd like to see would be a 70's Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider or a Ditko-esque Dr. Strange. Cheers! 🎉
I started Collecting Action Figures April 2nd, 1994. I missed the original run of Figures, but I got the rerelease they did, I think it was 1989 or 1990? Not sure. Anyway, I think that ran until 1992. There was still a lot of them on the shelves at my Toys R Us. My first day of Collecting I got most of the Justice League. Superman Batman Robin Wonder Woman Green Lantern Hawkman Aquaman Red Tornado Martian Manhunter Over the years I sold or gave away many of them. I still have a few. Okay, I must have gotten the Toy Biz reboot in 1989.
I remember when these came out, first toy ad I saw in a comic book. the flash was my favorite had Superman but was very hard to find Batman. Great to see these toys again.
This is the only toyline I have complete as well. I got a set open and a set carded. Cost me a pretty penny but it's such a great line to display it was worth it. Also, fyi, Green Arrow only came with 2 arrows not 3, and Mr. Freeze's helmet does come off so yours might be glued down.
Orion in the comics is the son of darkside on the show, i am not sure if he was meant to be that way as well or not. really nice collection you have, bro. i had most of those when i was a kid.
That's where the action feature comes in. Orion uses a device to hide his real face which looks more like Darkseid. He's not turning into a bad guy, it's just revealing his true features.
You weren't sure if that was Hal Jordan? Wow. You didn't know much about this line and none of the action feature names. Dont you think a little research before making the video would have been necessary. Especially since you'll have viewers that were born after the 90s
I used to have the Flash from this toy series. He had a spot right on the tip of his nose where the paint came off that always annoyed me, so I was always touching it up with flesh-colored crayons.
I have some of them Mr. Freeze's helmet doesn't come off also I never got him but I a friend of mine did years ago and with Red Tornado you swees the arms together to get his lower part to more same with Samuria.. Also Dessad Kalibak Mantis Stevenwolf and Para-Deamon are all Darkseid's men.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Your Welcome and also I forgot I had 2 Brainac's before and your right both of mine broke from the arm. The others I do have are Hal Jordan Green Lantern Flash and new Aquaman my first one I use to had broke in the arm. Robin Superman Dr. Fate he is like Dr. Strange from Marvel, Kalibak Stevenwolf Mr. Freeze Firestorm M. Manhunter Wonder Woman Hawkman with one wing a friend gave me him. Lex Luthor Mantis the energy vampire who drains the powers of say Batman Flash and so on. Green Arrow. That is it
The comments you make about the Kenner line shows us you apparently weren't old enough to have those toys when they came out! Or, else you would think that the batmobile was the best one ever made!
The mixup between the Riddler and the Joker is pretty much unforgivable
Lots of unforgivable quips and sheer ignorant comments all throughout this video!
Better watch it on mute!
LOL thanks guys! This is a fun line to collect and I am far from an expert. I made this video because nobody else is willing to do comprehensive guide. Hope it was helpful
Haha exactly. I pulled up the comments to say that. Sell me your collection! ;)
How do you HAVE all this stuff and not know Hal Jordan and 2 seconds later BE HOLDING a riddler figure and call him the Joker 😮
To be fair, Hal Jordan's Green Lantern more closely resembles any iteration of the Joker over the Riddler. Hands down. Case closed. Little known fact: The Clark Kent mail away figure that Kenner released was a head swap and repaint of the Hawkman body.
Awesome review!!!! Happy to see my capes being featured. Thank you for mentioning them.👍
I am so amazed you've got the entire collection of this line.
This was a chore to collect and took a while, Still missing parts but fun in the end
That batmobile is dope!
I really liked it way more in person than in pictures
Wow! So cool! You’re making me want to cash a n my retirement and buy the whole line!!!
I had several of these figures when I was young. Lot of good memories.
Great memories is what this is all about
I started collecting this line finally because of Tod MacFarlane. I was born in 84 but grew up with the ToyBiz Batman and DC figures. I mostly got Ninja Turtles as a kid. Started collecting those again earlier this year. Now have to collect Both Super Powers new and old.

Glad you found this helpful and I hope for great things from Mcfarlane
my favorite toy line of my childhood, thank you sir
and it is Hal
Glad you enjoyed it is a fun line and so much color!
Great retrospective review.
I came late to the party and a was lucky to get the first wave of heroes before the McFaralne announcement.
I got the Kenner Batmobile too. It’s a fun line and looks incredible in a display
Great collection so nostalgic Mattel did a fantastic work with DC Universe Classics.
Mattel did the best work with Classics for DC and MOTU
I had that batcopter in black for so long. It sadly crashed many years later and sank to the bottom of a pond.
The show had Lex in that armored suit, so that's why he's got that look.
Yep explains it then thanks for the info

Lexington didn't wear a "suit" until 1986 after they rebooted Superman after the "Crisis" event and the toys came out in 1984
I may still be weird for saying this but this show is the best thing dc has ever made

The Justice Jogger is by FAR the most incredible Vehicle *EVER MADE!* Eat you're heart out Batmobile!
Yes i'm fucking Joking!
Pretty sure that for Red Tornado, you squeeze the arms and the lower half spins in a tornado fashion. Also, this vid reminds me that I actually had soooo many of these growing up. Nice collection! Really wanted steppenwolf but my neighbor never wanted to let his go.
It was a product from Kenner Star Wars early production that never got used so they use it in superpower collection
This was a bittersweet video for me. I desperately wanted to go to Mego Meet but was laid up by the flu. This video was the closest I could get. 😢

Superman
Batman
Robin
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern
Hawkman
Aquaman
Red Tornado
Martian Manhunter

That may explain why Batman fetches so much these days
Cool toys!!
The Batmobile looked just like it did in the comics at the time and for years after
Those colors do look striking and still hold up today
I had the joker version that came with the squirting flower. I wonder what release that was
I used to have all that stuff still got most of it I got that kryptonite piece but not the plane
That had to be an expensive collection yet satisfying! Thanks for the info
Nice collection Mike. I haven't collected anything DC, but if I was to start it would be a "bat family" using the McFarlane figures.
Mcfarlane will have you covered in the bat department
Where did you get all the figure stands?
i have a bunch still in packages if anyone is interested.
That is awesome
Orion in the comics is the son of darkside on the show, i am not sure if he was meant to be that way as well or not. really nice collection you have, bro. i had most of those when i was a kid.
That is some cool info now I like the character more
That's where the action feature comes in. Orion uses a device to hide his real face which looks more like Darkseid. He's not turning into a bad guy, it's just revealing his true features.
Firestorm doesn't have glasses, those are his eyes.
Mister Miracle is an escape artist which is why he comes with handcuffs.
Great Info that makes sense
You weren't sure if that was Hal Jordan? Wow. You didn't know much about this line and none of the action feature names. Dont you think a little research before making the video would have been necessary. Especially since you'll have viewers that were born after the 90s
Might as well buy them with no working feature..they all break anyway...it'll save you cash...I'm a cheap poor bastard...haha...great video
As long as they display well on a shelf I am happy
It was called the “power action punch.”
I used to have the Flash from this toy series. He had a spot right on the tip of his nose where the paint came off that always annoyed me, so I was always touching it up with flesh-colored crayons.
That is annoying when these figures get a blemish
tengo todos y mas
I have some of them Mr. Freeze's helmet doesn't come off also I never got him but I a friend of mine did years ago and with Red Tornado you swees the arms together to get his lower part to more same with Samuria.. Also Dessad Kalibak Mantis Stevenwolf and Para-Deamon are all Darkseid's men.
Just tested them and only Samurai works thanks for the info

No Cyborg?
Classic
Great line
yes, that is hal jordan. he's not punching, he's using his ring
Yes it does look as though he is using that ring pretty cool of Kenner
It's funny I only have the hall of justice and the batmobile.
That is a great start
Where iscaptain rayo 🌩️?
Not sure
@@tydiriumhanger1320 sorry captain rayo si a figure exclusive For market colombian under license d.c. is a holy Grial For the collections
te falta el acertijo version argentina yo lo tengo
I have every mattel representation of these figures its alot cheaper
You ever thought about buying a reproduction Cyborg for extremely cheap?
Kinda a waste that you have an almost complete collection but know little to nothing about the CHARACTERS.
It is a fun line but a side collection and I am still not willing to commit to buying that darn Cyborg
You called The Riddler "The Joker" Twice. not once. but Twice. That is a *CARDINAL SIN* good sir. i hope you've since Repented.
Superman don't need no help from any of these punks
The comments you make about the Kenner line shows us you apparently weren't old enough to have those toys when they came out!
Or, else you would think that the batmobile was the best one ever made!
Your lack of research on these figures and their adjacent lines from Kenner & Toybiz is kind of embarrassing..
You should prep better.
