I got a superman from this line when I was 4 back in 96 and it started my decade long action-figure collection. Loved it so much but lost it later on. After looking at the packaging (which I hadn't seen in almost 25 years), it just hit me that THIS WAS THE ONE! (holding back tears)
The first Superman figure will always be my favorite. I just think he it is so well made. Most fans were mad about his hair being long, but I am probably one of the few who thinks it looks cool on him. It makes him look less like Clark Kent. I didn't like how the cape wouldn't stay on, so I glued it with superglue just so it looks more attached.
This is such an underappreciated line. The Superboy and Steel figs, especially. (Way back when, I repainted Superboy to be Mike Allred's Madman. Actually turned out decent!)
This toyline always reminded me of the Nicolas Cage Superman that never was. The costume test photos and concept art of Cage in character look just like these toys anatomically and aesthetically w/ the hairstyle and such!
These figures were awesome. As a kid I was too young to clect Super Powers collection figures so there was a long drought before this line gave us the first Superman figure in years.
Cyborg Superman instead of Conduit would have been awesome. Conduit was new and never really took off and Cyborg Superman is the only 1 of the 4 replacement Superman not here. I also love that Kenner made the black suit, also used in the Reign of the Superman when Clark returned.
Congrats on getting all these Brad! I remember finding still boxed Hunter/Prey 2 pack, Steel and Conduit at a thrift store in Spain several years after the line ended and they were really cool figures!
Jag2045 Dude, speaking of Doomsday/Hunter Prey two pack, I’m so excited for that one. I really wanted it 24 years ago but couldn’t afford it. Now I’ve finally got it.
I just recently started collection these mint on card. Oh man, I shouldn't have discovered this channel. Definitely have to subscribe. Great job, dude.
I grew up with and still have all the figures you reviewed today, I even pulled them off the shelf to watch this video. Today is a good day. Thanks. Free Comic Book day! May the 4th be with you!
"Superman: Man Of Steel" from Kenner was the best figures from Superman I'll ever have? I had Power Flight Superman and Superboy Long Hair Superman, the best
I remember Lex Luther with a kind of Hornet looking technology. Originally bought the line for those cards featuring artwork of the legendary Joe Jusko.
I think Superman toys never just sell quite as well as Batman. You can get a carded Capture Net Superman from the TAS line for the fraction of the cost of the Combat Belt Superman, and both are the "primary costume" variant in their respective lines.
Given that while wearing this suit, he wasn't yet at full power, makes sense Superman is struggling to hold such a large gun. As a kid I use to use that gun as Steel's "toastmaster" that White Rabbit was dealing on the streets.
This may be an urban myth, but I remember reading somewhere that Kenner was hesitant to make a Cyborg Superman simply because the design was too horrific, and they feared kids would think Superman had been blown up and had all the robot parts attached. Not knowing it was actually Hank Henshaw. Strange if true I know.
Wait, I had that Superman with the chain thingy when I was a kid, but I remember mine had a red chain instead of a grey one. It was a gift from my uncle, it was a bootleg or a variant?
Dmitri Najim It’s not a stupid question. 🙂 The DC Universe classics versions are good and the DC Direct versions have the best sculpts. These are the smallest of the 3 sets.
John Parisi Dude, I’d love to get an old Terminator figure and cobble one together but I’d just not do the character justice. I’m just not quite talented enough to do a good job on a Cyborg Superman custom.
If I had a time machine: Utilizing the super power molds like dark night collection & Return, I'd keep that scale to maintain a universal Kenner collection of DC comic based figures. Children could actually play with them... what a concept! We need more of that
I got a superman from this line when I was 4 back in 96 and it started my decade long action-figure collection. Loved it so much but lost it later on. After looking at the packaging (which I hadn't seen in almost 25 years), it just hit me that THIS WAS THE ONE! (holding back tears)
I got alot of these action figures waaay back in 1995 to1997.
Love them all
The first Superman figure will always be my favorite. I just think he it is so well made. Most fans were mad about his hair being long, but I am probably one of the few who thinks it looks cool on him. It makes him look less like Clark Kent. I thought the same thing. I wonder if this was being developed at the same time
Awesome! I animated Superboy in those commercials.
These figures were my favorite toys for a very long time. Seeing them again certainly brings back a lot of memories.
These figures were awesome. As a kid I was too young to clect Super Powers collection figures so there was a long drought before this line gave us the first Superman figure in years.
I still have my superman from this line, and superboy.
I loved these figures back in the day, this figure line was the start of my becoming such a big superman fan today
Cyborg Superman instead of Conduit would have been awesome. Conduit was new and never really took off and Cyborg Superman is the only 1 of the 4 replacement Superman not here. I also love that Kenner made the black suit, also used in the Reign of the Superman when Clark returned.
You don't mess with the S !!!
These are really nice figures. It's weird that they never made Cyborg Superman who would have probably been the most popular.
private private I know right. Instead they made a bunch of crazy variants.
I dig the sculpts. Superboy in particular looks great.
Keen! I remember the commercial for these! Especially with the animated Superboy saying “Don’t mess with the ‘s’!”
These commercials made me feel like I was 5 years old watching the Super Powers commercials.
I just recently started collection these mint on card. Oh man, I shouldn't have discovered this channel. Definitely have to subscribe. Great job, dude.
I miss toys like these 💯💯💯💯
Great stuff as always. Would love to grab some of these 😂 really like the total justice ones
I grew up with and still have all the figures you reviewed today, I even pulled them off the shelf to watch this video. Today is a good day. Thanks. Free Comic Book day! May the 4th be with you!
I had this entire line - and it never occurred to me that Conduit's tentacles fit Steel's hammer perfectly.
I remember mailing away for that Toy Fare Eradicator. Only toy I ever did that for.
Don't miss with the S . Great vid man Kenner and DC was fab in the 90's.
dc comics figurine collector Sure was. I had some of the Legends of the Dark Knight figures too. They were pretty neat.
I did the “Don’t mess with the S” animation. It was fun.
Great review as always! Totally a trip to memory lane!
122superboy If I’m being totally honest this was the most fun I’ve had making a video in a very long while.
Yeah you tell em kids bad guys gotta learn. Don't miss with the S .
Nabu The Wise That second commercial is sooo 1990’s. I love it.
Bro this wave feels like it was my favorite
That Eradicator is pretty sweet
5: 37 "Black boots, red pants, red gloves, leather jacket"
Me : "🎶Cadillac, yeah! The boy's a time booomb!🎶"
"Superman: Man Of Steel" from Kenner was the best figures from Superman I'll ever have?
I had Power Flight Superman and Superboy
Long Hair Superman, the best
Really like the symbolic tagline : don't mess with the 's', got quite a catch
I remember Lex Luther with a kind of Hornet looking technology. Originally bought the line for those cards featuring artwork of the legendary Joe Jusko.
Wasn’t there an entire card series with many images of his work too? DC Master series I think it was called?
Thank you again
djfunkgut You are welcome 🙂
I had Superman and the black and Silver Superman. I always wished this line had a cartoon
I have some of those Superman toys
Don't forget to get that chrome deluxe steel figure without the s shield, he's a variant that s comic accurate
scott mcclary He’s one of the only ones I don’t have. I’m still tracking him down. I’m hoping to have him towards the end of the series.
i took some kind of putty or something and made superboy a little pair of (permanently attached) sunglasses. looked so much better
This Superboy figure looks like he would grow up to be that black-coated greaser Superman variant released around the same time.
I have some of these figures, too!
Hi budy, where i can shop this ?
Awesome review! I'm curious to know if Steel's cape fits on Superman...I prefer the flowing sculpt and printed "S" shield.
Wait, I had that Superman with the chain thingy when I was a kid, but I remember mine had a red chain instead of a grey one. It was a gift from my uncle, it was a bootleg or a variant?
I still have my Superman two actually one still sealed and Superboy both stored away and unopened Superman on my wall behind me on my DC wall.
Awesome! Me too on the Supes. I’ve got a second one still MOC. I found it for $15 at a vintage toy shop.
4.97 on clearance at Toys r Us.
1:23 oooouch
Stupid question: are these the only version of these characters? Debating on getting these or newer/more articulated larger versions.
Dmitri Najim It’s not a stupid question. 🙂 The DC Universe classics versions are good and the DC Direct versions have the best sculpts. These are the smallest of the 3 sets.
Brad The DC Universe Geek thank you sir, I will check them out! Keep up the great work!
Donde lo consigo?
Hi Brad, I have the alex Ross & movie version of them.
I feel like this is secretly the Burton/Cage line of figures.
Who is eradicater I’ve never heard of him
Alexi Vallianatos dc.fandom.com/wiki/Eradicator_(New_Earth)
don't mess with the S
Awesome Video for awesome figures. Do you revisit Kenner's/Hasbro Superman the animated series figures as well??? Plz do.😀😀😀
Joe Jusko did the Artwork on the card.
Cool
8:40 "YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ASS!"
The Skybox Trading Cards Art was done by Joe Jusko.
Unmasked Conduit actually looks like Michael Shannon.
These were supposed to be sold with the Nicholas cage superman movie
I don't think I've ever seen these figures.
david holcomb These are old school awesomeness!
This is cool
Cooooooool 💯
I would have like a Cyborg Superman toy.
am the vest Commenter
Get an extra Superman and make him into a Cyborg Superman. And show others how it's done.
John Parisi Dude, I’d love to get an old Terminator figure and cobble one together but I’d just not do the character justice. I’m just not quite talented enough to do a good job on a Cyborg Superman custom.
His face looks like Clive Owen lol

Did you have to pay for the Eradicator toy, or mail off the proof of purchase?
when i was little i never really cared about action features on my action figures
Superboy is probably the best. They could’ve given steel a removable helmet like conduit
I had him
Long Before Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (2008) then Before DCU join Spin Master the true Canadian Toys (2020)!🎉
Never did like they never straighten his left arm
I don’t know why they gave normal Superman long hair?
It's not a mullet! :)
The Eradicator desperately needs some white paint to get rid of his flesh-colored teeth. 😬
Because Cyborg was a blatant Terminator ripoff. Forego the character or have to abandon the whole toyline as a result of a lawsuit
