Really cool. I'm gonna fix mine now. I've had mine since I was a kid and now I'm excited to work on it. Thanks for the video, this is gonna help me a lot God bless.
I just finished repairing my Batmobile. This video was very useful. The hook and battering ram as well as the lights work fine now. I just need to get those orange glasses and it will be ready. I noticed that my Batmobile color is darker than the one you present here as well as others I've seen. Thanks for the help. :)
Ha !!! Poor Robins been left behind ... Great video John . Hopefully I’ll never have to repair my Batmobile , but if I do I at least know of a great mechanic to take it to . 👍🏾👍🏾
I've used a similar technique w/G.I. Joe figures (take apart 2 of the same figure and take the best parts from each to make NM one). You can then sell the other for a few bucks and offset the cost. I'm close to completing my Super Powers collection (not collecting the entire line, just my faves) and I want to grab a Batmobile. Gonna definitely reference this vid when I get one so I can take it apart and give it a cleaning. Thanks!
With Kenner Toys, it is very easy to swap parts to complete vehicles. I recently bought two vintage TIE fighters at a toy show that each had different problems/missing parts. The cost to buy theses junkers was small, but after I swapped out parts, I has a complete toy vehicle. I encourage everyone to look past the faults of broken/incomplete toys and purchase them for future parts. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
Unfortunately I got the Skystriker XP - 14F instead of this Batmobile as a Kid. Then again, the Skystriker XP -14F was a pretty epic toy too. Thanks for watching.
I love watching repair/restoration videos by great channels like Nicks Toy Barn, Analog Toys and the big two, Toy Polloi and Retroblasting. I figured to give it a shot myself. Thanks for your support.
That was really nice, another vintage restorer is great. I have fixed many vintage toys and another perspective on fixing is always a good thing. Join some of the vintage toy collectors groups on Facebook and you can get parts, toys and all sorts that you need. Oolas booty, Echo base vintage Star Wars are just a couple. You can also sell your spare parts to get some money back to do more restorations.
I will join the groups that you mentioned; My cleaning technique using an automotive cleaning product is simply that they where designed for safe use on plastic car parts. I'm think that hot soapy water is a great cleaner too, but for figures that are hollow, it seems that residual moisture would most likely be left behind, especially on vintage Star Wars figures. That could lead to future problem like we find on toys today that had been played with in the bathtub or outdoors in inclement conditions. Not to say that I have never given an action figure a bath, but i would do so only if the conditions where warranted. Thanks for watching and suggesting my addition to some cool new toy collecting avenues.
John Wild no problem, Toys of Tatooine is great for vintage Star Wars but he only sells stuff but I have bought loads off him, Jabbas court is good as well. I found Vodka is good for light cleaning decals, dose not stain or damage paper, cotton bud and small amounts lifts grime.
This was REALLY helpful to me in my own restoration project. One question for you: do you have any suggestions for dings or scratches in the black painted part of the "hood?" Mine looks great post-restore but for one nasty scratch...
Aside from the 60's tv Batmobile this is my second favorite Batmobile! P.S. Where I can find replacements parts (3D printed) for vehicles such as the Batmobile front or back windshield{s} (orange)?
Awesome restoration of the beautiful Super Powers Batmobile from Kenner. I have a lot of these action figures still and this Batmobile. I have it disassembled and I've been trying to get the springs for the action mechanism. Mine lost all of them. What type of springs would you recommend #JohnWild? Size and diameter wise?
@@johnwild8336 since my post, I did find the springs my friend. All I need to do now is acquire the back windshield piece and I'm set. This project has been daunting, but worthy of my time nonetheless. I just love this Batmobile.
Hey John, nice restoration. I restore those as well. I also restore corgi Batmobiles. I can buy new parts for the corgi's and wish I could get new parts for the Super powers Batmobile. Just found your channel and subbed you.
Hey john wild this is off topic , but do you know how to clean the old ljn wrestlers? I heard that if u use soap and water it makes the figures sticky and that's what Iam trying to avoid.
Hi nice video i decided to pull a batmobile apart last night and i found your video very informing as i got stuck with where some parts went.Everything went fine after watching your video only concern is that when putting the top cover back on it doesnt seem to sit flush with the bottom part i couldn't quite understand what you ment about the top part had to sit on the battering ram and it doesnt seem to sit flush and theres abit of a gap between the the car is this normal or shold the top part sit in the bottom part flush its like the pegs on the front of the top part wont go and lower so im sure if ive done it right i tried so many times now and it still has the gap am i doing something incorrectly or is this just the design cheers and thankyou
I think there is a gap between the top and bottom of the vehicle. It's not flush that I recall. No open gaps, just the top and bottom aren't flush on the sides across the whole car. Hope this helps.
You need to look up NOVUS PLASTIC SHINE AND REPAIR. Pick up the three bottles plus some cloths online for less than 15 bucks. I use it on so many GI Joe vehicles, even the windows will shine up so much more than this. Armor All is honestly a bad chemical to use on plastic, over time continuous will eat away the finish. I wish someone had told you this five years ago when you made the video.
So you bought a good one to fix a bad one? Why not just of bought a nice condition unbroken one in the first place, there not expensive.really it was just a cleaning video, sorry.
You are correct. I could have just bought a mint complete Batmobile for around the same price. I found these two broken ones in quick succession. I was showing in this video how the action features worked and my cleaning technique. The parts to this toy are unique and the only way to repair one is to find replacement parts. This would be a video for a collector who wants to repair their childhood toy. Thanks for watching.
Wonderful job 👏 👏👏👏👏❤

These batmobiles were well played with
Nice work.
Thank you. Inspired by your channel.

Really cool. I'm gonna fix mine now. I've had mine since I was a kid and now I'm excited to work on it. Thanks for the video, this is gonna help me a lot God bless.
Thanks for watching.
Nice Restoration. I have restored a few of those 2 as well as the corgi Batmobile.

FYI the imaginext Batboat windshield is a perfect replacement for the Kenner Batmobile
Good information. Thanks for watching.

Had fun with this one.
AWESOME!!!! I love it!
Thank you.
Great job bro
Thank you.

Try an acrylic paint. Mix black flat and gloss to tone down. Just fill in as needed.
Donde se consiguen los vidrios delanteros???

WATCH " TOY POLLOI"👍👍
Ah Confounded! LOL

Ha! Awesomeness
Thanks John.
If I wanted to touch up the white on the headlights what type of paint do you recommend
I'd try to whiten with hydrogen peroxide.
Hilarious!
Thank you.

Where did you get the canopy glasses? Mine are totally destroyed and cracked. Is there a way to rebuild them?
Have to find originals. I bought batmobiles with different damages and used those parts to build a complete one. Thanks for watching.
Where did you get the front canopy windows?
Salvage from another Batmobile. Thanks for watching.
I think the chassis was reused for Karate Kommandos and James Bond, Jr. Right?
That's very possible, but as far as I know this is a unique mold. Thanks for watching.
Hi, where did you get the windshield lenses?
From other broken batmobiles. Thanks for watching.
You spent 40 for 2 damaged for 10$ more you couldnt got a real nice unbroken one
Agreed. But I enjoy fixing up old toys. The price for that time can't be measured. Thanks for your comments and for watching my videos.
This isn't a restoration dude. It's a cleaning, and It's a repair. Big Difference.
Con fondit
Kkkk massa

the music ruined the video could not hear what you are saying
I'll try a quieter mix on future videos. I appreciate the criticism, thank you.
