I've been shoot a Carter RX1 for a long time. Set it up for nearly zero travel and using one of the heaviest spring they offer. Replaced the webbing with paracord to remove any torque. It works for me getting a deep hook and using heavy tension before functioning. Great video.
Seriously TIM and MFJJ are the best duo of personalities in the “archery tube” world. Just keep that tournament rabbit hole journey coming while still covering the typical hunting content and this channel will be like no other. Just my humble opinion. Great video as usual guys.
Testing thru a chrono, my open hook wrist strap comes off faster than my handheld closed jaw releases. It's not major but it is a touch faster. I discovered this when shooting and noticed that when shooting my thumb releases I was hitting the target consistently lower than when using my open hook index, which is the stan solex and a Scott talon.
I have the Stan xtinction 2 with the bar instead of the webbing and I absolutely love it but I have been using my middle finger instead of my index and found that I have so much better control of the release than the index finger. I will be looking at this that way I can have a second while in the tree.
Tim your doing great work…. And it sure comes across that you are enjoying what you’re doing - providing information. Thanks. The chemistry with you and FMJJ is 👍!
Shooting a hinge properly sets you up for success with any release in my opinion. I used to punch my thumb so bad but I just switched back for a day ya know for funnzies. I shot so well because back tension is just part of my shot process now. I’ll have to try the same with my index this weekend maybe.
I am new to the archery world and was having inconsistent shot placement. I went and picked up this release today. I don't understand the reason behind it but my shot placement is now amazing! 4 arrow shots from 20,30, and 40 yards away all in the center circle. Its like my target panic issues I was having was resolved in this release switch from the B3 Clash. Thanks for this video I have a lot more confidence in this upcoming season.
Great review always appreciate your content and time your doing a great job of teaching people how expensive and cheap archery can be I really love that arrow flight the slow motion is really therapeutic ❤
I shoot an index release. I wanted one that i could set very heavy, and my local shop had the Spot Hogg Tuff Guy. It has zero creep, the trigger can be set VERY heavy, and the jaw only opens on one side. My groups have gotten smaller and my target panic is pretty much gone. The reason im thinking about switching to the Solex is this Tuff Guy is LOUD when you close the jaw.
Great video and demo. I’ve been thinking about getting a wrist strap with the open hook and this type of mechanism. Stan releases are manufactured 1 1/2 hours from where I live.
I recently bought a Tru Ball Execution wrist strap release. Over 100 bucks of course, but a lot of adjustments. Double sear, so trigger stays the same no matter how hard you pull and crisp af.
Top notch release. There many better if any at all. If you are an index shooter give the scott verge a try. My accuracy has definitely improved utilizing the click and using it like a hinge
Try the Stan xtinction 2. With the strap model. It’s a sear &a half internal design. Tension and travel adjustable. It is butter smooth. There is no feel of friction at all. It just pops. But it ain’t $99.99 either.
@@TimConnor13 well once Josh started talking about the release off of 1 point instead of 2 points like my current release... I realized and had to get it!
Awesome to see you review this release. I’m new to bow hunting and did lots of research and bought this same release a few months ago. I don’t have much to compare against, but I like it so far.
Love the video. Just got a bow to start hunting. Love the features of this release. But it’s sold out on the site. 😢. Keep up the great videos. Your really helping out us newbie’s
Update for me i have like 600 arrows throughout the shot process of this release from STAN. Had it for the last 2 months. I set it extremely hot and light trigger. Zero i mean zero complaints. Best index money can buy ATM.
I think Stan makes some good releases. I have personally tried the Solex and I think it's solid. One thing I didn't see mention mentioned in this video was the wrist strap itself. I feel this is one place Stan is cutting costs to reach that sub $100 price point. The strap on this thing feels like one of if not the cheapest most uncomfortable straps I've touched. Great release but consider getting a different strap for it if you do buy it.
I bought the wise guy and it was very crisp but very hot . And no tension adjustment really. I bought the solex on a whim and it is a great release. Just as crisp. You can adjust tension and get the length down short to wrap your finger . Best release ( index) ive ever had
Been using the Solex since December. Love it. For me even more accurate than my UV Button. Been making note of in on AT. Can’t say enough good about it.
My two favorite releases are TruBall The Beast (Index release) Stan PerfeX release. I’ve used these two for 10 years. I’m positive there is better releases but these two are the best in my opinion. Great video, y’all have some great content.
After having mine for a while I have to admit it’s the best index release I’ve ever owned. No trigger travel and breaks clean like a small rod of glass. Thanks Tim

You mentioned the carter quickie not getting heavy enough, I shoot the quickie 1+ and it offers some very heavy springs. Might be worth looking at. Adjustment is not as fast and easy as that stan though.

If I am looking at getting this release, should I just man up and spend a little more on a nicer release? why would you go for a release like this vs a double sear index? Thank you for the video!
Have you guys done one on knock on’s wrist release yet? Would like thoughts on it?Playing with one right now kinda like it since can change it to back-tension release also
Hey Brother. And I thought getting a TrueFire Smoke Max was a pretty good release. I'm gonna have to look into some releases like MFJJ recommended. Single hook style. Thanks for the tip. For sure.
literally the perfect video, I lost my thumb release a couple weeks ago and have been using my backup index release. I was considering the Wiseguy for a couple weeks this video helped a lot. Thank you!
This was perfect timing! I’ve been struggling to decide between hunting with a thumb or index release. How big of a range does the tension adjustment have?
After shooting a hinge and thumb for a while I decided to throw on my index release now that my brain won’t allow me to punch the trigger. It’s a b3 Hawk have it set with no travel and a little heavier works out great but the Hawk its just heavier than I like. Was slapping arrows together at 50 yards which made me want to go with an index for this year. I did however just pick up a Wiseguy to try out but now you have me thinking I should try out the sole x. Just like my thumb releases I like it set a little heavier with no travel I should’ve done more research before trading one of my hinges for a Wiseguy.
What are the odds of driving there and actually meeting you and JJ at the archery shop? And how long does it take to build a bow and arrows because I’m looking into get new everything. Off topic of the video but maybe I’ll get an answer😁
Actually I was thinking about getting this release so I'm glad you did this video lol, I have a old short and sweet and a Hot shot tempest that I am currently rotating between but I'm adding the Stan in the mix soon.. Great video thanks guys.

Ive two of the twin clasp release index release as I’ve had a single thumb release and after a few weeks of shooting the thumb release was failing to work 😤🫣 and with the index release with the twin clasp are great I find that it is really good and the arrows go exactly where I send them
Tim ask MFJJ if he has any of the STAN Xtinction 2 Index Release you could try. I have been shooting this release for the past year or so. Also very adjustable.
Carter Like Mike II: #1 No travel at all! #2 Super adjustable tension to pretty insane cold heavy tension. Problem: not under $100. Cool added bonus: mimics the Nock2It Backstrap so you can practice back tension with it.
I loved the Stan Xtinction 2, but it quit working. Stan does not make them anymore. I really want to try the Sole X, but I am see a lot of negative videos and negative reviews on Archery talk. Should I be concerned about buying one?
Hey guys I want the release and I need a quiver to fit my thinner arrows on my bear adapt plus. I’ve sent a few messages and no response thanks in advance, I don’t know which one will fit. The one that came with the bow don’t hold the thinner arrows thanks in advance.

Tim ask MFJJ if he has any of the STAN Xtinction 2 Index Release you could try. I have been shooting this release for the past year or so. Also very adjustable.
Have you tried the tru ball execution??
Carter Like Mike II: #1 No travel at all! #2 Super adjustable tension to pretty insane cold heavy tension. Problem: not under $100. Cool added bonus: mimics the Nock2It Backstrap so you can practice back tension with it.
Could you do a review with the Carter like mike 2 index release
I loved the Stan Xtinction 2, but it quit working. Stan does not make them anymore. I really want to try the Sole X, but I am see a lot of negative videos and negative reviews on Archery talk. Should I be concerned about buying one?
I’ve got 1000 arrows through it and love it
Good enough recommendation for me.
Thank you for the quick response.
LORD BLESS
Been in search of a new release to potentially replace my Fletcher Flathead.
Hey guys I want the release and I need a quiver to fit my thinner arrows on my bear adapt plus. I’ve sent a few messages and no response thanks in advance, I don’t know which one will fit. The one that came with the bow don’t hold the thinner arrows thanks in advance.
