  • Finally recorded a run but I think I've some ESC issues. Nothing thermal as motor and ESC aren't even warm to the touch. So I'll have a cup of tea and scratch my heard a little.
A very smooth but not so fast 45MPH on the books for my 2WD MF-01x build. It runs sooo nicely. Then.. I checked the space I'm running, measured the straight that I have and see why I'm only getting it that fast. :D
Any trouble-shootng tips on the cutting ESC are welcome. It's a new motor/ESC combo I had here so must be a setting somewhere.
    Rob

Haven’t finished the video yet. But I think lock the rear diff to limit torque being sent to the wheel with the least traction while accelerating and at full speed. Also turn off reverse so you can modulate the brake as needed to stop spinning out.

If it drives anything like a TT02, then you're still in the wobble zone at 45mph. Once you punch through that and point the car straight, it should correct itself. What oils are you running in your diffs? Try easing into the throttle and see if it cuts. Once you get to a certain point, the voltage sag will cause a power cut and ruin your run. I just did this last night knocking the rust off 👍 ..went from 82mph to 97mph😄

The car looks so nice and smooth, Rob. If there was a little more room to stretch those legs I'm sure you'd get into the 50's.

Nice pass. Does your controller have ABS?

@Rob_NABS I have a 2wd f104 pro. I had to up the ABS and back down the amount of brake in the esc get it to stop straight

@@JoevsRcthat’s the issue. The ESC. So will be putting in a different combo with better adjustments

Turn down punch, make it forward brake only, no drag brake and set brake to 80%.
Should be better. When setting down punch, you can put on throttle much harder without spin out.

the ESC settings are the limitation, a different combo will go it.
Punch is minimum and the radiolink has throttle delay set up too. Try additive next too. :D

set esc to race mode to get rid of rev. when you squeeze the brake a second time it goes into rev and spins you.

The ESC programming on this one might be too basic.
      It has:
      1: Volt cut-off
      2: Start Mode.
      3:Max Brake force
      4:Max reverse Force
      5: Neutral Range

    • @Rob_NABS
      @Rob_NABS  3 дні тому

      @@pajomad1 It's a Carson Dragster Turbo combo.
I've a Xerun 10.5t Combo sitting here, it has a lot more ESC options so I'll probably drop that in instead.

@@Rob_NABS yes I looked through the dragster manual and couldn't find the setting. What you are looking for is the option to change from f/b/r ( fwd, brake, rev) to f/b ( fwd, brake) only.

Don’t you love it when you drive to know where and cars start doing laps in an empty car park. Just part already.

Hi Rob, looks like an entertaining experiment. No solution from me just observations I think the torque steering it coming from the motor being mounted off centre possibly fit a counter weight to even up the traction ? due to the small running area is it possible to return it to 4wd?
Oh I was a little disappointed that no wild animals tried to interfere with your test runs 🐇🐖🦢😂🤷

4WD for an LMP car? You'll be suggesting putting Sand Scorcher livery on a Yaris next! :D
I think a couple of wild sparrows were watching. I did feel the glare.
