As a video editor, I can verify that less is usually more when it comes to editing. Most of the time, the best thing you can do is let the performance speak for itself. No trickery or flashiness needed.
I love that the final attempt is just one long continuous shot. No cuts or edits and a perfect example of relative velocity. Can see it being used in Physics classes!

On paper it seems simple but you also have to consider the human component here, constantly adjusting with the possibility of falling sitting in the back of the head, while the train can keep going at a steady pace.
Absolutely. Like, the rider isn't riding in a straight road to have a constant speed. He's going up and down the slope with varying speeds. It's impressive that was brought to a sum 0. For him to end the run by hopping off the train and land on the train track crossing was perfect! Red Bull's marketing is on point. They barely show any product. They focus on showing the world how they give you wings. It's a masterclass of branding, product, marketing, skill, and true entertainment all in one piece and they do this over and over. Remarkable!

When people in the BMX or biking community are talking about something crazy that just happened in their market, they're probably saying to each other "Hey did you guys see that Red Bull video of the rider on the train". What Red Bull is doing is opposite from what many other brands have done in the past. Other brands will spend tons of money running ads, and creating commercials to SELL products and its products features. As time goes on, many of those products are no longer in existence. What Redbull is doing is building brand positioning in our minds. Red Bull is playing the long game. They are selling their story. To be honest, I never had a Red Bull. I can't tell you what it tastes and I am aware of how their drinks can impact the human body, but not everybody knows that. There are many products out there that aren't good for us that we're aware of, but we still eat them. Cheetos, Ice Cream, Coke, Candy etc. Red Bull doesn't market themselves as a "healthy" drink, what they're doing is reminding us that if you want to be extreme and do stunts and activities that will make people's jaws drop, Red Bull is who you should think about. With the brand equity that they're building, they're not really just banking on people buying their products, they're able to attract partnerships and other business opportunities that will continue to turn them into a global reputable brand.

Incredible! Also the past few days I realized how lucky the world is to have a company like Red Bull. I dont think most of us think about it but Red Bull doesn't really make money off of stuff like this. I mean sure its advertising but its not guarantied to make them money. Which means someone at red bull is taking home far less money just to sponsor things like this for the love of it. I mean I have seen them sponsor from tiny esports events (one of the most consistent sponsors for smash bros melee) to massive things like the skydive from space. They dont seem to care what it is as long as its cool and I love that.

Getting the final take while at the crossing made for such a cool shot where it looked like he was riding in place next to that stationary stop sign as each train car passed it.
That was always the plan - if you look closely they reset the train every take and he's always riding 'in place' at the crossing
