It must be nice to destroy something I’ve been dreaming about having, I’m disabled and stuck in a bed, if I could buy one i would.. Love your videos brother
destruction is still fun though, even if it hurts I got an old modified Traxxas turned Rally Car that I still can't afford new LiPo batteries for, with my dead as a doorknob NiMH batteries that don't last 30 seconds on a full charge
@Aki8w8 speaking of which, I sold all my good cars to fund my first race car, but I still have my old GV BV1 nitro in the shed. I should pull it out and bash it again. I could never get it to handle right at full speed and it would spin out and hit the gutter. I turned the bottom plate into an S more than once and strip the whole thing down
@@1one3_Racing Last RC I crashed was when I was a kid, and of course it was my dad's BMW M3 RC car, completely smashed the right suspension arm on a curb Rear wheel drive brushless plus a kid did NOT work out
Reading the page about how to tune the 4in1 module, or better yet, the manual for the 4in1 module itself would probably have gone a long way here. Or just use ELRS and never touch a bind button again.
13:15 it´s pretty common that some radios loose signal when you get to close to the receiver. Most manuals even say that you have to keep a certain distance during binding. Don´t blame the transmitter. Radiomaster builds some decent stuff. Some of our most experienced pilots at our model flight club are switching from Jeti to Radiomaster. Problems / Glitches like this usually get fixed pretty quick with an update for the receiver.
For the whole build, Kev is like, "The instructions tell us to use these parts, but we're gonna use these metal upgraded ones instead!!!" for like every single part 🤣
As much as at pains me, having 3 of these Tamiya rigs done up, seeing them bashed like this...... Thank you. I didn't know what the speed capability of them was beyond just fartin around at scale speed. This was a great vid!
I was into the RC hobby back when they all came in kit form. where you had to put them together. That was half the fun for me. We're talking frog, Grasshopper, Hot shot, The original gold Chassie RC10, Monster beetle, Cloudbuster days.
I worked at a hobby shop years ago, back when there RTR and nitro stuff was the rage, before brushless. Guys that built the kits ( like me ) worked on their own stuff. All the RTR owners, always brought it into the shop and wanted us to fix them. Got to the point where we were charging 20 an hour rate to try and push people to buy their own tools and work on their own equipment. I am still in the hobby, and I prefer the kit version over the RTR version, even knowing it will cost more to build. I also wish some of these RTRs would come with decent equipment. Usually the first thing to go is the radio and / or steering servo.
19:27 I understood perfectly. First lap, no pallets. Each completed lap you must load a pallet which counts as a point. If at any time you lose a pallet it is returned to the loading zone and you lose the point. When the pallets are exhausted the challenge concludes and the person with the most points (pallets) wins.

❤😊🎉 Hello Kevin, you will probably never read this message, as there are millions of people, but I am still writing to you because I am very grateful to have seen one of your videos a year ago, because my wife and I had a really bad time with our health, but I don't want to talk about it anymore, how wonderful your passion for what you do is. I also have a small channel, I would be really happy if I was given a like, so I know whether what I am doing is right or wrong. I wish everyone in this world a wonderful time🎉🎉
Biggest tip i can think of would be finding a nice vacuformed body for it, way lighter than the stock ones so it would bring the center of gravity down a quite a bit to make it less tippy. Maybe a gyro to help make it track and counter any unexpected yaw, you had it up on three wheels and saved it once at the track so at least some of the time having a gyro could help for when driver reaction isnt quick enough.
Radiomaster when it is super close will overpower the signal to the receiver. Especially when on the bench or close up (Crawling is what i use mine for). There is a setting in the first menu for “Low power” that will solve that issue. Then turn low power off when range is needed
Ok. Idea. Little work to counter sink them, but put magnets in the pallets and countersink into the bed. Make straps decorative. Gotta find a smooth or polished concrete floor. Warehouse, loading dock; something to keep the bounce down. Maybe slow the steering? Very enjoyable.
@@KevinTalbotTV Just as many of us should! Long time ago managed to get my hands on that baron RC car that resembles the Hoonitruck you talked about! Oi Kev, I highly recommend you use the ELRS version of the MT12, paired with an ELRS receiver. The 4-in-1 module on the one you got isn't really too reliable considering it's reverse engineered. The MT12 also comes with a module bay, so you can slide and ELRS module into it and not have to pay for a whole new radio.
The RadioMaster MT12 is a great radio but you have to learn how to use it. It comes with OpenTX from tr drone world and throttle is channel 1 and steering is channel 2 on stock settings. You can change this at the Input-Menu. Sad to see, that you aren't patient with this insane radio. 😢
Kev videos never disappoint! Love it! I cant even fathom the amount of money and time it took to build this. I have seen a lot of these rigs but never one with so many metal upgrades!
This should be a whole new race league and class --- most entertaining indoor track rc racing i've seen maybe ever!!! Lots going on getting those big trucks and trailers around the apexs!
Hey kev, when working with plastic with chrome on it, what you want glued, scrape off the chrome. It will stick better. Same thing when building model cars
Haha thanks Kev that was awesome fun to watch! Turn your steering right down for your speed runs mate. 70mph will be awesome to see if you can do it! 💯
a whole lot of people used to like watching the "loading wars" rc show or "gold rush" here on youtube where they do it all in rc. but they dont do it anymore so it would be cool to see you expand and see all the cool rc equipment
Add a gyro, that thing was all over the road. Since it’s top heavy any wobble hurts your ability to stay straight. I’d also add more weight down near the bottom, and try a way to make the tires more grippy for stability.
You should put the battery as close to the ground as possible to balance it better and get more traction and fit foam tyre's for grip and absorb bumps better. Also if you have one big Tyre instead of the doubles and a wider one on the front. A whale tail spoiler on the back will give you some down force 👍💚💛❤️
Kev I had the same problem with my gearbox. The Gear Mesh was wrong. I spent hours trying to fix it, I never did. Gave it to my Dad and in less then 5 min he fixed it.

The MT12 tends to overpower the receiver when you're close to it, you can turn down transmitter power in the menu, or just back up.

Few minutes in and I'm most surprised so far about how much metal upgrades are made for these!
As usual with Tamiya, the kits use the same parts for 20 or 30 years… so of course that leave plenty of time to produce upgrade parts.
