Hi Matt, OOOOOh !!! Nice toys. They are excellent quality and very popular Down Under. I spotted the weather. Reminded me of back home in Launceston, Tasmania. It is the climatic twin to London, you know, twilight, pea-soup, but dry climate not muggy, warm summers up to 35 Celsius but no humidity. Gorgeous. I cannot complain though living in sub-tropical Brisbane. Cheers mate ! All the best.
Ooooh, SawStop! The designers’ shenanigans when he first introduced it here in the US were pretty shady, but you can’t argue with the product. People will always complain about false triggers, but a new blade is preferable to missing fingers. Have fun with the new saws!
I have a SawStop, got it several years ago. Excellent quality. Yes they do cost more BUT it's cheap insurance to my mind. Even with thoughtful planning, careful attention to one's milling process, and "experience", the internal stress and whatnot in wood can cause things to go sideways in a tenth of a second. To avoid an accidental activation you will need to be careful when working with salvaged wood. Checking for embedded metal is really no different than what's done to avoid wrecking a good blade. I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on the saws!
Thanks Matt, Sawstop were obviously looking for someone that had owned just about every table saw available, have fun testing them out ! Robin Clevett has been putting content out on these saws this week, they do look good and obviously the safety feature is unique to them ! Wishing I could join you in Harrogate its a great town, have fun at the show !
Not sure which I'm more envious of Matt. That you've got 2 sawstops or that you run an off grid workshop. Good on ya mate. Been a while since you changed table saws. Now you've got 3😂
Hi Matt, Looks like Christmas has come early for you, got a decent table saw and nice cut wood, nice to see you got full power to your power bank surprising what a bit of dirt does to your solar panels. As always a great video Take care
Blimey, that's rite posh, a metal pallet! how about put some wood shelves attached to each width of wood and make a multi-herb container for your wall, kind of like a living herb wall...
I own the CTS and have wanted to try and run it on one of those power stations but David from Make Something had issues. I also have the stand, it's nice but didn't suit my needs because I couldn't leave it set-up and moving it was a PITA
To help keep the solar panels clean use some Rain-X windscreen cleaner as it uses silicone to help minimise dirt sticking and any water beads up and rubs off which also helps keep then cleaner for longer. PS suggested to Keith you should do a joint project together?
If your solar panels are angled like you’d get on a sloping house roof then normal rain and wind will keep them clean. I’ve had solar panels for 7 years, only washed them once last year when we had scaffolding up. In that time I’ve seen no evidence year to year of panel degradation due to dirt and indeed some of the more recent years have been better than the early ones. As another comment suggests the metal pallet could be used to angle the panels up
Christmas definitely came early for Badger. Can’t say I’m not jealous, now is the Bosch going at a good price?👀 be perfect for my first ever table saw. 😬
I own the cabinet saw in Australia. It would be Interesting to compare the European versions to the US/Australian models. I’m not really buying the “sawstop deciding to now introduce their product into Europe.” My understanding is that it has been illegal in Europe to include the ability to house a dado blade, which sawstop does. So have European laws changed, or do European models not include this option on the arbor?
Can you run the Sawstop using your offgrid power, or will you need an earthed mains connection? I believe that the machine will tell you when you connect it.
Could you cut up the metal pallet and make it into a display stand for your craft fair things? After carrying out extensive research on how to clean solar panels (well, actually, by googling 'solar panel soap') I found there are several brands of cleaner, just for cleaning solar panels. It's interesting to hear about the build of dust reducing efficiency - there's a 1-2% drop in efficiency with each year as the panel ages, typically, and anything on top of that should be a concern - it might lead you to think of what kind of budget could be worth investing in the specialised soap, if the soaps can reduce the build up of dust or other contaminants that will reduce the efficiency of the panels. What crossed my mind when I'd seen the videos for ceramic coating on car windscreens was if ceramic coating was worth putting on solar panels on the roof of a property to try to reduce the build up of dirt that will then reduce effficiency. It would be interesting to find out if coating panels did reduce cleaning costs - many people won't be able to get up on the roof with a sponge to clean off the build up of dirt. I wonder if anyone knows if this would work - they don't have glass over the front of the panels but it might work.
The Harrogate Show is fantastic - I've been the last two years for the full weekend instead of MC and love it. I'll be there this year on only on Sunday morning as I'm attending another event in Hebden Bridge on the Friday/Saturday. If you've not filmed the brake test segments, for god's sake use a vegan hot dog. I do not like the idea of animals giving up their lives for table-saw testing. They look great saws tho. The cabinet saw they've planned for the UK market is just a tad too big for me and I'm way past jobsite/portable saws these days.
Only looks tack welded together so shouldn't take much work with a grinder. Then can always use it for shelving in the storage shed. Can see from the dents and dings why they aren't used much, anymore dents and it's no use anymore.
Angle grinder with a cutting wheel to get the welds and after that I'm a little lost. Perhaps a bit of smelting? Some Ali tools? I'm set with the itech cabinet saw but sawstops move into the UK is still very interesting. And yes Matt, you have had a few saws😂
It must be a yandles thing to use those metal pallets , my bs400 bandsaw came on one. Like yourself Matt I have been puzzled as to what to do with it !
@@Badgerworkshop I wonder is it a recycling issue , you’d think wood would be of more use to Joe bloggs, to recycle rather than a metal one ! I’d hazard a guess that the metal ones are more expensive too.
Top scores there, Matt! Looking forward to the compact version review - looks like an improvement over the Festool version that Peter M has (which doesn't have the brake). See you at Harrogate!
Solar panels are getting dirty because they're horizontal Matt, getting covered in dust, pollen etc. which won't get washed off much by the rain unlike it would if they were at an angle. Angled ones rarely, if ever need cleaning. You washed the ones on the roof then threw the dirty water all over then, it'd probably help to rinse them again with clean water. Extremely jealous of the saws!
Why not sell it, they go for 50-£400, not sure why the wide spread in price, but you might as well get a farthing or two if you, those afternoon teas at Betty’s don’t pay for themselves 🤫😉✊
Ooo new toys. Robin Clevett has been showing the break off on the saw stop. He found it hard to run the hotdog through having trained himself to keep his fingers away!
Oh no, now we’re going to get a flood of UK influencers flogging us their free Sawstop saws, a subject which has been flogged to death by US equivalents. Yawn. I thought you were better than that.

Hi Matt, That pallet is made from mild steel and not aluminium. It's been galvanised to stop rust but you can see some on the welds.
Thank you. I see that now
put it under the solarpanels, better cooling - airflow provides more power ! could even make it hinged so to angle it better ....
That's a good idea

Wow Matt! You know you're doing well when festool are sending you goodies 🎉 have fun playing with them, look forward to the future videos!
Moving into the big league! Early testing of new gear, advertising drinks….. you’ll be modelling lumberjack shirts soon enough 😂
I do like a flannel shirt
lmao at 120woodcraft i agree he will be sporting the red in no time
Damn Matt moving up in the UA-cam woodworking world! A sawstop saw is a seriously good piece of kit.
Ooooh, SawStop! The designers’ shenanigans when he first introduced it here in the US were pretty shady, but you can’t argue with the product. People will always complain about false triggers, but a new blade is preferable to missing fingers. Have fun with the new saws!
My planer came on a hybrid pallet with 2 steel runners with plywood on top, I don't know what to do with it either!
I have never seen one like that

Great news on the SawStop additions Matt😀👍. I went to the Harrogate Show last year for a day. Just to give you a heads up, it’s absolutely packed out!
"tried a few table saws over the years"!?! Understatement of the century. 🤪🤣
Not sure which I'm more envious of Matt. That you've got 2 sawstops or that you run an off grid workshop. Good on ya mate. Been a while since you changed table saws. Now you've got 3😂
Yes they are like buses
Nice! Grats on the saws, great to see SawStop make moves in Europe!
Thank you

Looks like you could mow the grass at the back of the work shed.
Congrats, Matt! Those are definitely amazing tools! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Wow - that’s amazing that you’ve got first dibs on trying out the new SawStops!🎉 Bet you’ve been having a lot of fun testing them out.
I’m very excited to get using them
Harrogate show is fantastic. It is packed though. Don't know if you will have time to build one table as it's such a busy show. Might see you there.
I own the CTS and have wanted to try and run it on one of those power stations but David from Make Something had issues. I also have the stand, it's nice but didn't suit my needs because I couldn't leave it set-up and moving it was a PITA
Was it just me who shouted at the screen “you’ve left your bucket….” As he goes and grabs it back 😂
I remembered in the end
the camera must still be up there then! 😆
How do I find out where wood working shows are?
Hi. Type 'woodworking shows' into google and you should get plenty to choose from - including Harrogate.
To help keep the solar panels clean use some Rain-X windscreen cleaner as it uses silicone to help minimise dirt sticking and any water beads up and rubs off which also helps keep then cleaner for longer. PS suggested to Keith you should do a joint project together?
That’s a good tip. We would like to one day

Finally!!!, I have been email SawStop resellers in every country around the world that used 240V @ 50hz to try and get one!!!!
Not long to wait now

I have had a test and both work off grid.
Buzzing for you Matt !! Gotta start saving now
Thank you very much
I can't say I've ever seen one of those metal pallets before either and I've broken down a fair few over the years!

Just signed up for updates on SawStop website. Autumn 2025 for the cabinet saw! Very excited!
That does look like a great saw
@@Badgerworkshop it’ll replace my 10” iTECH nicely! Very excited now! Shoe horned into my single car garage!! 😂
Nice one matt looks like your gonna have fun although question why 2 saws? And for the pallet what about a wood and metal pallet challenge?? 🤔👍🏴
Why don’t you just run a cable to the house????
The area behind his house is where other people drive/park so it wouldn't really be practical.
I love going to Yandles and Axminster, I am like a kid in a candy shop!
Both great stores
Metal pallet would be good for a base of a log store
Would be good for that

Hahahaha. Laughed 😢out loud. You never lost it. A new table saw.
Thanks for sharing. Enjoy.
Thank you
Interesting video. Tbh I've never seen a solar panel mounted flat on a flat roof.
It works well
Oh shit, sawstop is coming to Europe ? Might have to start saving up.
Good work on the panels
Thank you
Already bought my ticket to Harrogate so ill look out for you when im going round 😊
I don’t this you can miss the stand. Should be impressive
Can the pallets not be returned to supplier and reused?
They won’t ever pay to get them back
You know, maybe they should be made to. Same as retailers have to take back an electrical appliance when you buy a new one.
Hi, thats not an aluminium pallet, ally does not rust and go brown! its been mig welded.
Hopefully meet you at Harrogate show.
Been told it’s galvanised. See you there
@@Badgerworkshop yes,
If could be other coatings but should net weld through galvanised steels the fumes are poisonous!
Not one but TWO SawStop table saws? Nice! That's not quite in the budget for me just yet, but someday...
I'm excited to try them
Maybe some kind of herb planter for your kitchen ?
I like this idea
Great saws but I thought you were already tight on space. What about Bosch.!!! Your rear lawn looks like it needs a cut 😉😉😉😉
Whats the total on the number of table saws you've had now Matt?
I can't count that high
Aluminium?!!! That just sounds insane. How is that more affordable than wood? The world’s gone mad!
I was wrong. It’s galvanised steel. But still must be more expensive

Wow Matt. Didn’t know Sawstop are selling in the UK now. Good to know!

You are going to need a bigger workshop 🤣🤣🤣
