You're a complete legend! Your kids are so lucky that you're their mum and you would spend so much energy and time trying to make this garden a haven for them! You've done an incredible job! You bossed it!!
@remiclog It's so perfect! I love the result! That was well worth persisting with! Bloody well done for managing to stick with it and not let the ADHD brain lose focus! I'm autistic and I hyperfixate until I get bored of something so I totally get it! 😂💜
When your boys are grown men, the smell of honeysuckle, the feel of grass on their bare feet, the texture of sand in their hands will bring to mind the wonderful memories of their time in that garden! It was a labor of love ❤️ Very well done!
As an environmental educator who works primarily with young children, I applaud your dedication to making a place for your kids to play with real grass and dirt, and to planting for pollinators. It’s so important for everyone, but especially children, to have access to green spaces, and you’re right, they’re disappearing everywhere. Anyway, thanks for making this video and sharing all the practices you used to help the soil and the plants ❤
Exactly this, PLUS (I also work with kids) a kitchen herb garden is *_perfect_* for our little sensory-seekers, with all the different scents, textures and uses of the herbs too! 💗👏
Yes! Finally, the most anticipated video of the year: “ How Remi got her Garden Back”! Cheers, Remi, you did it! Your determination is so inspiring to me.
@@remiclog I’d pat myself on the back if I were you remi. You have 200k+ views on a 56 minute video about restoring your garden!! That makes me feel warm and fuzzy for you and your family! I hope you’re well
I always thought I was just lazy and useless until I found your channel. When you explain how you are and the things you do, you could be talking about me. Thank you so much for giving me the courage to embrace who I am. The lawn transformation is amazing and the garden is gorgeous 😊.
Me too. The people who will never understand are the ones who convinced us we're just lazy. Hearing a voice of validation and understanding, knowing that it does make sense to someone, and knowing that I'm not the only one has been so encouraging.

I was so confused too. Daddy long legs don't start as a grub. lol We call them mosquito hawks. We just had so many recently. My kids came home and 10 of them flew into the house at once. It was crazy trying to get them back out.
We call them mosquito hawks in Fl too! I was wondering what she meant because I knew it wasn’t the USA daddy long legs lol I’m terrified of those spiders 😅
Something I love about you is that you don’t use your circumstances as an excuse. So many people (maybe myself included!) would be tempted to just shrug and say “oh well - I’m just renting so I won’t bother making any improvements because what’s the point.” You’re living in the moment and making things wonderful for your family! I am so inspired!
I totally agree and I love it so much! She manages to recognize that her circumstances (and those of other people) can make things difficult, but she still makes the most of everything and acknowledges we have personal agency in our lives 💖 She is so lovely, and such an inspiration. Watching her videos has had such a big impact on my life and perspectives 💖
I can’t believe you ever doubted yourself, your voice, or your videos! Your content speaks to my soul and soothes my jitters and the doubts in my head. After watching you I feel a boost of confidence and as if I received a warm hug from a long missed loved one. Thank you!!
I do like the natural wood, but I think the grey on that side of the garden balanced it out and brought it all together! It looks fabulous!!!! You are an inspiration!!
I am here literally one minute since post, is the first video that I give a comment, (I'm sorry if my English is not the best). It's been almost 3 months of watching your videos, and your channel is without a doubt, my comfort place, every time I need the power of watching a person like me getting things done even in problematic energy levels. You are a light in my day, thank you so much for been yourself in this world of just showing the 'pretty' part.
Remi, the transformation is AMAZING 😳😳! It doesn’t even look like the same garden. The amount of work that your whole family put in is commendable. The reason I loved this video so much is because it made my heart happy to see Ike playing with his grandmother as she transplanted a plant from her own garden or your dad, stepdad or Charlie building pergola’s, sandboxes, furniture, you name it. It took a village. So much love was poured into your garden and now the whole family has a fresh green space to play and eat meals together outside. I practically cheered when you said you got to sit outside and relax on the bench for the first time. I hope you get to curl up with a good book and a nice cup of tea this week as you give yourself a huge pat on the back for all the labor you’ve put into seeding, mowing, reseeding, and creating a video that captures the entire two year journey. Wow! Thanks for sharing your beautiful life and garden with us! 👏👏🏡🪴🧑🌾 P.S. the grey pergola looks great and you’re protecting the wood from the elements so don’t feel bad, it will also be covered in sweet smelling flowers in the future so you might not even see the wood anyway.
Watching you using scissors to get the last bits along the wall brought back a fun memory when I was little. We had an electric scissors made for that task. It ran on a charge so we had to work fast! I’m now 62 and on my own to tend to 40 acres of prairiegrass. It’s daunting after my husband passed but it helps to look at it in pieces, several pcs a day. Thank you dear for your positive soul 🦋 Happy gardening from Iowa USA.
Remi, Thank you! Thank you for helping me understand that I am not alone and lots of us struggle with mundane tasks. Thank you for inspiring me and encouraging me to keep up with the housework. You have honestly helped change mine and my children's life ❤
Dear Remi, your garden looks beautiful. I think the gray is refreshing and is consistent. More importantly is the exceptional lawn and greenery stands out with the gray backdrop. So happy for you.🎉
The grey was the perfect choice of colour ❤looks terrific. I also did my backyard myself at age 60 & found it so overwhelming but so rewarding in the end. I actually think it's so worth doing. Now a decade later I still look after it at age 70 so rewarding. You children have wonderful parents for sure. Excellent team work with everyone involved ❤love your channel so much. Keep up the good work as you make such a difference to others watching for sure. All the best for you & your family Remi sweetie ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺 to the UK 🇬🇧 with ❤️
Remi, you are amazing! You persevered with getting that lovely grass, and with all your effort, it came! You are a truly inspirational person, and should not put yourself down, as you deserve so much more. I do not know where you get your energy from, with all you have going on! Your children are so lucky to have a Mum like you. Blessings from Jilly & Madge, from West Devon, England. xxx
Your mom is adorable! You look so much like her. Personally, I really like the grey - it looks good with the red brick. Crazy that those little bugs come from such HUGE grubs! Everything looks beautiful - you've done a wonderful job. I hope you really enjoy it!
I was excited for this one 😊 you spoke to my heart when you said "all I contributed was anxious, impatient energy" as that is me with any kind of diy project I make my husband do 😂 Enjoy your beautiful garden it is certainly well deserved! X
What a great job Remi! I'm an old granny in the US and I am so glad I discovered your videos. I live in a tiny house and my outdoor space is so important to me and my family. Congratulations on your success!
You're amazing! Look at you, Remi, not getting distracted nor pulled away from your dream garden/yard in America! I'm so proud of you and thrilled for your family to have you leading them in this project. Go, Remi! Hoots! Cheers! Wild Applause!
Aw Remi, I was only able to watch the first half of this vid last weekend, and am just watching the second half now. It's amazing. I'm so happy for you. Very well done!! 💕🦋👩🌾🌱🪴🍓😃💕
So much work but so well worth it! Love how you let the boys help and played splash with Mushroom. Love all the plants, especially the honeysuckle and wisteria (so lucky you have a climate they can tolerate) and the herbs and alpine strawberries & Jasmine! Your garden must smell wonderful! Don’t worry about the grey - you had to protect the wood and the sun would, over the years, just turn it all grey anyway. I love the lights - extends your garden use when days get shorter in the fall! Bravo, Remi and all your kind and true blue family helpers! Enjoy your lovely garden for years to come! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What hard work!! Not only reviving the grass & making changes, but the consistency!!! And the filming, editing, voice over! Such an accomplishment! You & your family are truly adorable (and that includes your mom, stepdad, dad & Charlie-and granddad, too). It’s so wonderful to see love and support by actions. ❤❤❤
Your pluckiness and ability to stick with something is your real secret to success. You created a lovely lawn with effort and sticking with it even without money and fancy tools. ❤
This is one of the most beautiful garden makeovers I've ever seen because it's a garden grown from a mother's incredible love strength and passion for her family. Good luck making more! I love the alpine strawberry tip! ❤
"Sprinting lasted about a week" made me laugh 😅 Love your videos Remi. Garden is beautiful. Your transparency and vulnerability is inspiring to so many.
Your narration is just as lovely (or even more so), than your lovely videos! Thank you for always sharing your heart, your triumphs and your “misses.” You encourage countless others through your honesty and love. 💜
Your garden looks fabulous. I know it was a lot of hard work but you will enjoy it every day. And Ike is such a good helper! 😂 Seriously, he may not remember everything that went on but he will remember being with you and Charlie and his grandparents. It is the feeling that he will cherish.
Sprinkle some clover seed in your grass. It’s lovely under foot and it fixes nitrogen to make the grass thicker and greener. Nice job you did there! 56:07
I’m so irrationally afraid of things that look like grubs, maggots, and centipedes. I can’t even look at pictures of them on my phone (oddly, I think earth worms are adorable lol)😭 I think it comes from a bad experience I had as a child (really bad living situation, really bad family situation, and a centipede infestation). Going outside and seeing thousands in my yard making a “squelching” sound would genuinely be enough to send me over the edge lmao 💀 My personal phobia aside, i think fixing up a lawn sounds so overwhelming in general. So many things out of our control with weather and wildlife, and so much information to learn! Some people have no idea the work and money that can go into fixing a lawn. And sometimes people put in tons of work and money, and still can’t revive their lawn! Im so inspired by your determination and dedication to this project and others like it. Especially because you do it out of pure, selfless love for your family 💖 Your lawn looks SO BEAUTIFUL!! It’s so lush and green! It looks so soft! Perfect for your boys 💖 And you didn’t hire anyone! You and your family did that all by yourselves!! I’m seriously amazed. I’m so grateful for your videos. They are a blessing. You’ve been such a massive source of inspiration for me in so many ways. You’ve really impacted my life in a very big way. I think I’ve grown into a different person since watching your videos. I’m nicer to myself, more grateful for everything, more productive than ever, and i’m a better wife 🥰💖
Absolutely brilliant transformation. You really inspire with “a little bit at a time”. So often we feel we are failing but you show that as long as we keep going, it WILL eventually get done. I am 69 and slowing down and your videos motivate me and comfort me that there are others out there who struggle with decision making and inertia, yet it can be done, bit by bit. It was also lovely to see your mom and stepdad and dad coming to help out. Something wonderful to look back on when they have finished walking this earth. I wish I had videos of my parents loving and teaching my children. Keep going Remi! You are WONDERFUL!!!!!!
As a keen gardner and former allotment owner, I applaud your hard work and efforts sincerely. You have learnt on the job and done your research and homework and taken on board people's advice on your comments section and it's really paid off. You have done your family proud. And how wonderful for your parents to help out. What a loving family you are, I had great pleasure watching every single minute. Your garden is beautiful and you have made every bit of it work for you. Well done❤
Remi, your tenacity with this project is inspiring! You mentioned you don’t stick to anything, well girl you have found either a passion or how to break through your barriers! UA-cam and your channel has been consistent enough to help you fund a project that has taken time and look at the results for both! Give yourself a pat on the back girlfriend! Amazing loved loved this video. Been waiting for a while and totally worth it! ❤
Oh Remi, your garden transformation is absolutely divine!!! The two years were hard but totally worth it for the results you have! I love how your family was involved in helping you create this. We've also been spending time cleaning up our yard, landscaping, and fixing our front porch as our oldest is graduating high school next May and we want our house to look nice for her graduation party. It does feel really good to see things transform. Enjoy your beautiful new space!!!
Rock on Gf, don't even trip I'm 63 an artist and I've always started such big projects, and seen not as many through to finished, your grass is gorgeous and so are you. Do what you do, enjoy your Now❤
You are so welcome Remi ❤ I can't think of anyone more deserving. You post relatable content and your so vulnerable with us and it's why I enjoy these videos so much. I hope your channel continues to grow.
This was such a super satisfying video. Your garden area turned out lovely and a great place for your boys to play and for all of you to have great family fun. Your Mum & Step-dad were wonderful in all the help they gave you! They are both very talented.❣️❣️❣️
Its took me 2-3 yrs to get a lawn from nothing, we downsized to a new small 3 bed house, our lawn was the same as yours but I decided just to keep cutting what I could and over time it recovered all by itself, I am a keen gardener and have turned an empty space into a garden. Gardens grow, they are not made ! Keep at it girl, you’er winning ❤
It's gorgeous!! All of you did a marvelous job! You are very artistic. You could paint things on the pergola to accent the garden. Like butterflies, gnomes, pinwheels, etc. It might be fun to include the children in that. Then again...😅. Totally up to you. You give us so many awesome ideas I thought I'd try to give some back. Thank you for all you do in these videos for us! From, a starting to get older lady, and most definitely a fan! USA, Tennessee! ❤
It’s so refreshing hearing experiences from people who do things manually because they have no money. And I mean really have less than $50 from all possible sources. We live on acreage full of wild weeds and I remember that for the first 2 years it took me literally over an hour to pull weeds out on the 4 square feet around my kneeled area. We finally bought a half working rototiller from our neighbor and fixed it. It helped tremendously in the garden. My husband uses it to clear large areas when needed. It’s our 8th year here and I still crawl on my knees for most tasks and learned soooo muuuuch in a process. Yet still have so much to learn. Appreciate all the learning curves of other people. Biggest problem I have now is my chicken and wild turkeys constantly disturbing my mulch in garden beds and under trees and deers chewing everything that cannot be enclosed in fence.
Comments: 1. Impressive perseverance and hard work. 2. Ew, gross. 3. Well done. 4. The thanks goes both ways. I get a lot of pleasure and inspiration from watching your videos, so, happy to help and you're welcome! Where I live in Canada, our yards are not walled like a lot of yours. This makes it easy for skunks and racoons to come and go, and they do a great job at digging up the grubs and eating them. Some people complain about the holes they make, but it's easy to flip the grass back over and stomp on it. I appreciate the help with the yard work. If you are not happy with your gray paint on the pergola (which nicely matches your window trim), perhaps it will make a lovely back drop for a future family mural. Don't forget the wood unpainted would turn a weathered gray colour all on it's own. Alternatively, as it will need more coats in the future, you can always make changes then. And if you don't like seeing the corners of the tarp under the sandbox, what about decorative rocks? As for the sandbox cover, I did the same to avoid offering a public loo the neighbour's cats. We have indoor cats, so I wasn't worried about disease, just the nasty stink and the bother of having to clean it out and replace the sand. Your mom is lovely :) xo
Gorgeous. You did an amazing job with it. Give the plants a chance to flourish and itll look straight from a fairytale. I liked the pergola natural but I think the grey easily works too. Keep in mind, it'll blend in as all the greenery, flowers, and whatnot grow and wrap around everything which is what will really pop. It's beautiful already but it's going to be absolutely stunning in another year or two. Good luck and take a rest, you've earned it! ❤🎉
Wow what a transformation! You worked you butt off on this back yard! Cheers to you girl! In the end you can only be proud of yourself and of course your family for their help too! It looks amazing, and I love your sense of humor!😂 I can just imagine the wonderful smells. I would have just stained the Pergola myself but it’s your yard and you should just do you. Because let’s face it, it is a great backyard now! Loved this video and I love you as well! ❤ My daughter is around your age and I feel motherly towards you, and I want you to know how proud of you I feel for all your hard work. Your family must just love being back there now! See you in the next video. 😃
You are such a hard worker and so resourceful! The yard looks wonderful! I didn’t think I’d like the pergola gray, but when it was finished, I do like it! Great video! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You’re fab! I’m only a couple of minutes in and I love the way you talk conversationally to the viewer. It makes me feel very involved and interested in your adventures. Love it! God, bless your family.
You are one heck of a mom, great partner-great person, period. I really feel that strongly. I am exceptionally proud of you for going way over and beyond the call of duty in making all this possible for your family. You know, thanks so much for sharing this sweet moment with us all! Parents, husband, children, friends, or neighbors-they’re the lucky ones to have such a great person around. I send love, joy, peace, and more blessings your way, beautiful soul.🙏💜💜💜💜☮️🪬
Watched the whole video, I love how you showed the entire process and recalling certain days and explaining how you felt. The best was you talking about your life wisdoms - sharing you realistic timeline and alluding to how life isn’t that serious, do what you can, don’t beat yourself up about it, all efforts add up! Your optimism, outlook on life, and belief in what anyone can achieve are very refreshing. Cheers!
No money, no problem. You've got something money can't buy, grit, determination and persistence. This video made me smile. I hope you are proud of yourself, creating a lovely environment for you and your family.
👍👍👍For persistent. Thanks for demonstrating and let us see the fruit of your labour. I too found the odd grubs when I scarify. And most likely I have a lot more of those critters hidden away. So I’ll be using nematodes too. Beautiful garden btw.
Hi hey hello, I wanted to leave a little message to thank you for this video. Its timing is perfect motivation for me, as I am also working on a garden on my own. However, I am doing my childhood home, as the daughter who moved away. This summer my mom felt and hurt herself while mowing the lawn. It was overgrown with weeds and invasive blackberries with sharp thorns. It broke my heart. This video brought me to tears as this project is very taxing on me physically and mentally. Hearing about your determination to do this for your kids echoed my wish to have a low maintenance garden for my mom. We are planting clover instead of grass to hopefully allow my mom to not have to maintain the garden as often. While our garden isn’t huge, it’s not so small either (it basically feels never ending with the up keeping). I hope I can give my mom the best little garden for her to relax in. I remember growing up not always able to enjoy the garden because of its state, but always loving being in it. I just want my mom to be proud of her garden. Thank you for this video.

I know I was like a daddy long leg starts as a grub…. Huh?!?! To funny that a daddy long leg means something totally different to us across the pond 😂
In Michigan we call them mosquito eaters. And daddy long legs are common house spiders.
I also heard some other of the same bugs with different names on another UA-camr from the UK. Funny we use the same names for different bugs.

What a wonderful transformation 🎉 Remi you rock!!! ❤️🏴❤️
Thank you so much!! 😁❤️
Aw Remi, I was only able to watch the first half of this vid last weekend, and am just watching the second half now. It's amazing. I'm so happy for you. Very well done!! 💕🦋👩🌾🌱🪴🍓😃💕
What an amazing transformation. Your dedication to this project was amazing!!! Congratulations 🎉
You have done an amazing job, your garden looks fantastic. Well done. Hope you and your family enjoy every minute spent in the garden. xx
Thank you so much!! We’re all sooo thrilled ☺️
Definitely a garden to be proud of girl... Well done 😊
So happy you released the video of this garden - journey 😊
It’s been a long time coming! 😊
@@remiclogbut itvshows we must persevere:) well done 💪🏻
@@crystalclear6864 thank you! ☺️
Oh the garden looks amazing 😍 so cozy well done 💪🏻❤️😘
@@Pelinaka696 thank you ☺️
Well done on your garden . Blood sweat and tears have gone into your garden transformation xxxx
The grey is fabulous. Don’t second guess yourself. Fantastic job and I’m very envious of what you’ve created ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
WOW! You all created a wonderful space for your family. The grass, the lights, the plants, the pergola. Congratulations!
Wow. You are so hardworking.
Really kind of you to say. Thanks! 😊
I absolutely love the bit with Ike looking in all the holes around the garden at 20:20. So cute and curious ❤❤
Well done❤
I love your dedication, Remi. ❤️
Your garden transformation is amazing! 🙂 I love watching your videos. I find them relaxing. Thank you xx
Thanks❤ I absolutely love watching your videos!
You’re so kind! Thank you so so much 😊
The nighttime photos are stunning! The yard looks so pretty lit up at night.
Do what you do, enjoy your Now❤
Hello! It is always so nice to get a new video notification from Remi Clog! It just goes to show "determination" pays off! Your lawn looks amazing! 👍
The fact you couldn’t afford it before but you can now is awesome, I love that for you. This was a very nice episode with the yard progress.❤
It's a dream garden remi! You're so fortunate and your work has definitely paid off! Hats off to remi! 🎉
Fantastic Job There!! Thank you very much for making and sharing This!!😊❤
Oh! So happy to see you. It's been a while. The garden looks great. Well done!
I’am so proud of you going though all that trouble to find the problem and hard work 😓 your yard looks fabulous 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Hello so glad your here .I yelled Remi is here lol
Ahh this made me smile! ☺️
Comments:
Your mom is lovely :)
xo
Remi I love your determination to learn and grow. You are an inspiration and your presentation is so nice to listen to.
Thank you so so much! 😊
The dedication and the progression was worth the wait. Good job!
Soo relieved to hear this! Thank you 😊
@@remiclog ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’m proud of all
your hard work. I know your kids love it!
You are such a hard worker and so resourceful! The yard looks wonderful! I didn’t think I’d like the pergola gray, but when it was finished, I do like it! Great video! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good morning Remi Love your garden transformation!!and all your content ,Be blessed
Thank you lovely! ❤️
You’re fab! I’m only a couple of minutes in and I love the way you talk conversationally to the viewer. It makes me feel very involved and interested in your adventures. Love it! God, bless your family.
Such a wonderful transformation and so happy for you. Just wow!!🎉❤❤❤
Ahhh thank you so much! 😊❤️
Beautiful garden! Enjoy it as much as you can. You're a very hard working family. 😊
Cheers!
Congratulations
What a beautiful garden you’ve created! Well done!
Thank you so much 😊
No money, no problem. You've got something money can't buy, grit, determination and persistence. This video made me smile. I hope you are proud of yourself, creating a lovely environment for you and your family.
My mood improved when i got the notification that you posted a video ❤❤❤
👍👍👍For persistent. Thanks for demonstrating and let us see the fruit of your labour. I too found the odd grubs when I scarify. And most likely I have a lot more of those critters hidden away. So I’ll be using nematodes too. Beautiful garden btw.
So great! You have a lovely back garden!! Hugs from N.C., USA. ❤
Thank you ❤️
Hi hey hello, I wanted to leave a little message to thank you for this video.
It turned out spectacular. Well done. You should be proud of it. It looks lovely❤
Thank you so much! ☺️🥹
Thanks for your videos- I love all of the grey- I think it looks nice 👍😊😊
I love the grey garden ❤
Ahh pleased to hear that! Thank you ☺️❤️
