This album! Man. Through good times and bad it has saved my sanity more than once. It takes me to a place I cant get to and when I get back, I feel like I have been on a long refreshing trip. Renewed .
I saw Spirit at a concert in Columbus, Ohio in 1974. The venue was a converted movie theater in the downtown area - geez, what is it, 37 years later and I still remember how it felt to be there and how great their music sounded. Still does...
I lived in the Columbus OH. Area back then, i was thinking that you might have been talking about the Ohio Theatre or maybe Vets Auditorium, I seen a lot of good concerts there. I love spirits music. i never found out if Randy Californias body was ever found.
I remember going to all their great open house parties in the Palisades, back in my High School days. Then this album broke worldwide, they got famous, and the parties stopped. Those were some good times.
Ran miss u. Bought all spirit albums 40 years ago. Saw ye live at milkeyway amsterdam. ye gave me a plectrum with ur name. Mine guitarplaying like 2 base at u.
This is Randy California tell us in a song that "Nature way is tell us somethings wrong" Do you think that we people would be responsible enough to stop polluting the environment to change. We haven't and besides what the scientist are saying we are to late to stop what is happening. The Earth destruction is being done because we humans are arrogant fools. I do include myself even though I have changed how I live as far as saving the environment, it's a very little to late. Come Jesus Come, God Bless you everyone.
I'm sorry for that last post. You'r good people. Don't let me tell that your not. But you are sheeple. Deceived, lied to, promised. It's not your fault. But it will be your childrens fault. There's just not that much time left. Progress, evolve, or die. Yes, there is a choice.
To walkingbear56: the hippies are not to be denigrated. Peace, love, great music, environmental respect. Not a bad set of ideals by which to live.

How incredible the story about him saving his son's life. Beautiful. Then sad.

Always loved this song...
His son was drowning caught in a rip current. Randy saved his son but lost his life.
What a gift this song has been to me. Thanks for posting it. Here's to Earth Day!

As has been stated: "this song!", "this band"! Yes takes me back to a time when I thought "our generation" was going to fix things!
Yeah, that too.
Look how long ago we knew our planet was in trouble. We were labeled tree huggers, weird. Very sad now aren't we?

please make a way to just enjoy the music without any politics statements. Randy's legacy lives within the music. Get outta Potatoland...
