Homemade DIY Bug Spray Mosquito Repellent with Clove, Eucalyptus and Lemongrass Essential Oils

- Hi Friends! Well mosquitos have definitely been a nuisance this season in Texas and I always try to opt for natural solutions instead of purchasing commercial products that are full of chemicals, which are not good for our bodies. In this video I am making a homemade mosquito repellent spray using water, witch hazel, and three different essential oils: Clove, Eucalyptus, and Lemongrass. All of these oils have been proven to help ward off mosquitos and other bugs! I also found a great natural source of b vitamins that can also help keep mosquitos at bay!
If you have any other recommendations or comments about what natural products work for you, I'd love to hear!
Thank you for watching friends and have a blessed day! ~ Barbara

I'm also a person whose body over reacts to insect bites and I used to suffer a lot up here near the Boreal forest. Thankfully! I found a gel that works better than any after bite recipe or product I've come across. Of course, prevention is first but in the event that I do get a bite, I always have DAPIS Gel on hand. It is homeopathic by Boiron. Paraben and fragrance free. Hope this information is helpful.
Wow thank you for sharing that! I’ve never heard of that product, but will check it out! So glad it works for you ☺️
Yeah, buddy, thanks~ I up B vitamins & stop eating bananas after Valentine’s Day, & still get all bit up. So, much appreciated ☺️
How interesting - never heard the trick about bananas! Thanks for sharing : )
Thanks for the vid. I've had a lot of success with just concentrated clove oil and water - probably 20% clove to 80% water. (The clove settles, so it must be shaken vigorously) Every time I would golf or go camping, of course I'd get mosquito bites, but especially horrid are the damned chiggers, most especially around my ankles... With clove oil on, I get no chiggers and very few mosquitoes. It works for ticks too, not to mention other biting insects. I definitely put off a strong aroma of clove though, and you don't want a concentrated clove oil straight on your skin as it will burn. You can also add some cinnamon oil too, if you want that extra layer of protection. Cheers.
Wow thank you so much! I am definitely going to try that when the season comes around again. I bet the concentrated clove mixture will do very well! I look forward to trying your suggestion! Thanks!! : )
Thank you! That was my idea - just clove oil and water. Do you make clove oil or buy it?
Thanks very much!
How is the clove water used? By spraying oneself?
@GiftyBTarr Yes, it’s all safe and natural ingredients, so it can be sprayed on skin, clothing, etc. I’d recommend trying on a small spot of skin/clothing first just to make sure there’s no type of reaction. Thanks for watching and have a great day! ☺️
@@ahomesteadjourney thanks for your speedy answer.
My skin is super sensitive and can spray on it.
Thanks for the option of spraying on one's clothes instead.
However, looking that it might make the clothes wet or cold, I was thinking on the wall like a normal mosquito repellent spray?
What do you think?
Hi sis thanks for this.

It did!
Im gonna try, I'll let you know
