    I extracted mine yesterday after 7 days of infusion.
    Used coconut oil to infuse the roughly blended lemongrass.
    I used it on my hair yesterday at the salon.
    It felt so good.

    Oh! Just what I need! I bought a stalk of lemon grass in China Town, cut lower part and put in water for a few days. It started rooting. I planted it, and now I have this very tall and very beautiful plant with lots of leaves that smell amazing.

      You can definitely use olive oil.

      No dear you do not need any preservative. If you desire, you can add vitamin E oil which will act as an anti-oxidant.
      For 100 grams of oil, add 2 grams of vitamin E oil.

      Yes you can use dry lemon grass, but you will need to leave it sit in oil for about a month before blending.

      I used fractionated coconut oil. I decided to use this oil because it is odourless, can be used in food and cosmetics, and does not clog pores if used on the skin.

    Hello I have just make lemon grass oil but the coconut oil finished so I ended up using some virgin olive oil in it blending process.
    And wen I use the double boiling method the oil come out so green but it smells really great.
    My question like how it is so green can it called essential oil still or not?

      No, I did not use water. The lemon grass has to be completely dry before you blend it.

    Hello cecil can I do this with other dry herbs ? I always infuse a torn of different herbs. For example rose, elderflower, calendula and yarrow, so can I also do this blending method and leaving it for more than a week ? Then filter and use ?

      Yes, it should work perfectly. Just make sure it is completely dry before you blend it. And when blending, do not let it get to marshy else it will be difficult to separate the oil from the herbs.
