As a boy just entering his teen years in the late 60's, I couldn't wait to see the next episode of Dark Shadows after school -- and a major reason was the beautiful women on that show -- and Kathryn Leigh Scott and Nancy Barrett were the most beautiful of all. And half a century later, they still are! I loved watching this.
So many story lines on the show with so many wonderful personal memories and behind the scenes stories told by the actors in the past that it can be hard to remember them all. The fans remember all the fine details of each story line and each character far better than the actors can recall because they were too buy memorizing lines and acting it out instead of sitting back to watch the show like the fans do. What makes DS truly special for me is the feeling of 'family' Most of these actors became life long friends and the conventions strengthen those bonds to where each convention is more like a family reunion The actors even personally know many of the fans and their children too.
There are many Dark Shadows fan groups on facebook, I have one called Friends of Dark Shadows. It was announced almost a year in advance, there is an event in October in Hollywood......
Icons! My god, it’s like catching up with old friends or family you haven’t seen in a while. You don’t realize how attached you get to these actors. I’ve just seen them through reruns and feel an affection for them. Can’t believe this is 50 years! Also kind of startling to see them age 50 years after just watching some episodes! Lol
So sorry I don't live in the USA and have being able to asist to this celebration. But it is a nice homage to all those nice people who made this never-ending series.
Gee, Kathryn Lee Scott and especially Nancy Barrett look great. If Nancy had her hair down, she would look just as she did back in the Dark Shadows' days when she was Carolyn Stoddard and if Kathryn had her hair darker and a bit longer, she'd still pass for Maggie Evans. Shame that Alexandra Moltke wasn't there. It would have been really great seeing the 3 of them together. Wish Mitch Ryan was there also. I loved him as Burke Devlin.
Windy Moore yes she’s still so cute. Would look great with long hair. Lost my left kidney in 2016. Was 58 and hair grew longer than when in high school. Kept it blond, just grew so fast. Surgeon thought I was 10 yrs younger. Mom’s side were all baby faced kids. Had to show ID at 40.
Mitch was a better Burke. Mitch played it just roughly and crudely enough that one could believe he was a bitter man who had been falsely imprisoned, and was insidiously seeking revenge.
If the fan following had been this strong in 1971, it could have bought the original sets when productionnshut down. The man who played Quinton Collins said that after production shut down, he returned to the studio every day and picked up a memento, like an ashtray, etc. He said that the third day he returned the set was gone.
well, atleast their voices sounds so much younger, attractive, as the sweetest, as active, and as outgoing as before as since they've have starred in DS.
now since Maggie Evans has paid a visit to Elizabeth Stoddard at Colingwood, Robert Cobert decided to play Maggie's favorite sweet romantic soundtrack music.
and as for Alexandra Molthke and for Mitch Ryan, they've both have a professional literately proficiently philosophically originally posted manner of originally posted acting.
Did Katheryn say that she is auctioning off Nancy Barrett's "fangs"? I have wanted to see what those costume fangs look like ever since I was 11, when Barnabas entered the show. I hope whomever wins them will post a photo or two on the Internet, if I heard Kathryn say "fangs".
I don't understand when they say it was filmed "live." It certainly looks like a live stage production but it was filmed and then broadcast after all, so why couldn't they cut?
I’ve read that because of the equipment used to tape these shows, once taping started, everything - opening and closing credits, commercials, sound and lighting effects, music, etc. - had to be fed in “in real time,” just as the audience would see it when it was televised a week or so later. Stopping for any reason would not only cost more than the budget allowed but might cause a delay of up to two hours. The process used for the show was called, if I’m not mistaken, “live to tape.”
and so up to this present time, Mitch Ryan can have that same opportunity of the same qualification as Mel Gibson's private eye figure as a private detective on Lethal Weapon.
and originally at it's starting point, as back then, Mitch Ryan started off in having that private eye figure for this present time he can have that Mel Gibson figure as a private detective as on Lethal Weapon.
now, Barnabas Collins, why you're afraid of Jossete Dupre once she has paid a visit to your mausoleum place? you know that soon you are still going to tried to get to her anyway.i
Nancy Barett was awesome on that show
I used to come running home from Junior High to watch Dark Shadows! Good seeing these lovely ladies again!
I love this video of two of my favorite actresses on the show!

Loved Dark Shadows ! Loved Kathryn Lara too !

Que montem incrível! Pena que as pessoas não fizeram perguntas.
Agradeço pelo vídeo.

Wish I could go to a Dark Shadows Fest Never Have Sad about that !
Nancy Barrett looks wonderful!

DS 4EVER!
@Holly B...You can also subscribe to Shadowgram, the official Dark Shadows newsletter. They have all of the info there, as well.

Does anybody know if there will be a convention in 2020 or 2021?

tubi.tv has all the episodes
Yes. This is where I was both introduced to Dark Shadows and continually watch through it. Taking my time and only on the 186th episode. BUT I DIG IT!
Nancy Barret's personality reminds me of Carrie Fisher.
yeah, Barnabas, you know that you are still going to get to her soon, anyway.
I don't understand when they say it was filmed "live." It certainly looks like a live stage production but it was filmed and then broadcast after all, so why couldn't they cut?
No time and no budget. No one says it was filmed live, it was filmed "as if" it was a live production.

was Alexandra Moltke there?
No, she never attends.
Who played Josette?
Kathryn
and so up to this present time, Mitch Ryan can have that same opportunity of the same qualification as Mel Gibson's private eye figure as a private detective on Lethal Weapon.
or Mitch Ryan also originally have that same private eye figure of an image as that of Peter Falk on Columbo.
she looks like she looked in the 1995 episodes.
and originally at it's starting point, as back then, Mitch Ryan started off in having that private eye figure for this present time he can have that Mel Gibson figure as a private detective as on Lethal Weapon.
