Thanks for a great video. I just purchased this vehicle from a subaru dealer. They couldn't provide much information on it. This helps us understand it alot!
Thanks for a great video and clear explanation, Brian. The only thing I didn't hear is where is the location for the passenger airbag switch on/off. Thank you!
Oh, Thanks. Otherwise I would have kept searching for it as I had it in the previous model by the passenger door with a possibility to switch it on/off manually by the car key. Many thanks again 👍
Hi! Was curious to know if there vehicles in this package have a garage door opener. I have the standard rear view mirror but didn’t see another button!
Hey there, yes you need the digital display mirror package with homelink universal transceiver. It’s basically a “mirror” package and that’s what you get, but unless it has that, you won’t get the garage door opener. On that mirror they hide the garage buttons discretely on the bottom rim. The flip lever makes it go from digital to regular. Hope that helps.
When you’re in Bluetooth it’s mainly the Toyota interface. When you’re plugged into the system you’ll be on your apple or android interface which makes the car screen act more like your phone. I can do a more in depth one on my next RAV4 video but here is a video on the highlander screen which shares 98% DNA with your screen I hope it helps you. ua-cam.com/video/IFGWQBFxhWk/v-deo.html
Brian/guys, there are times that no audio comes out during video messenger calls. What is causing it and how to remedy it? I’ve done the reset by pressing the HOME button for about 10 secs, to no avail. Thanks for your help.
Hello! Pairing only happens with bluetooth. Usb cable isn’t considered a pair. That’s just connected. You’ll gain CarPlay by plugging in. But bluetooth is convenient for a quick wireless connection.
@@brianruperti thanks, when I got my Rav the guy at dealership set everything up. But just upgraded phone so wasn’t sure. So I just tried pairing it with Bluetooth. Went well. Then plugged in for full Apple Car Play. Surprised myself that I did it lol! Missed wireless Car Play by a few months! Dang.
Hi Brian! Did you say the Toyota Nav is going away? I like it esp as I live close to US border so I don’t have to incur roaming charges using maps on phone. I know Canadian vehicles come with different packages but I have the 2022 Rav limited hybrid.
Hi Brian, I just bought a 22 RAV4 and it’s such a nice upgrade from my 2015 Prius. One problem is that the car has no interior lighting when I open the doors in my darkish garage. Especially by the feet. Can you address that issue. Maybe I’ll just Bring my usb chargeable motion lights I used in the Prius. 😢. Thanks ! if you can help ! Also should I upgrade my display screen ? To 2025 standards?
Hello, you can press the door button on the ceiling and lights will come on during door open. No floor lighting on rav4. I don’t recommend changing the screen it will kill your resale value.
I watched this a couple of times but didn’t see anything about the wheel button. I have question on the button above bsm. What is that for? I can’t seem to figure it out
Hello I'm thinking about getting the Toyota RAV4 hybrid but I have an android phone ,I had a question will I be able to access the features with the phone I have now and if I change to an apple phone in the future??
Hi Brian, useful tips , saved me a lot of time. Can you confirm , to use the Auto high beam, after pushing the auto high beam button, do I also have to turrn on the High beam manually or just leave it in off position? Thanks
Glad to help! Great question. If you have a 2021, you likely have to actually engage the headlight stalk forward, then click in the auto Highbeams button. For 2022 and newer, you can now leave the stalk in its 1st position, and click in the auto Highbeams. This is superior to the earlier version because this allows for a fast override of the auto Highbeams when needed, whereas with the older version, you had to fish around for the auto Highbeams button and click it off if you needed Highbeams in a hurry. Hope that helps.
I have the start and stop on my rav 4 but I noticed when I stop at a stop light it didn’t shut off the car but on the dashboard o saw it marked for climate control and the start and stop sign have a line across it. Can u please help me out what it mean
Yes it’s orange right? That means you’ve pressed the off button for it, which makes the car keep its engine on at the red lights. If you want the car to use start stop, hit the button again to turn it back on, or turn the car off and restart it. The button is on the bottom right of the climate control it says “A off”
Hey it’s a part of the pre collision system (PCS) it’s not individual so as long as PCS is active you’re good. PCS can be checked and adjusted in your MID going to the settings menu.
The PCS is active but pedestrian is crossing while I am driving but I am not having any indication or alert on my vehicle. Can u please help me out here
It is not guaranteed to sense every pedestrian btw it’s designed to mitigate some collisions with some cars and pedestrians depending on certain data the cars senses
I need help my 2022 RAV 4 Premium XLE just muted the audio on me when I was coming out of the garage this morning as near as I can figure I came a little close to the wall backing out but I didn’t think it was any closer than any other time. I went shopping and when I came out and started the car the audio came on and then immediately muted again. I looked everywhere in my manuals and cannot find anything to help. Do you have any ideas, I’m sure it is something simple that I am missing.
@@brianruperti Well I went out this morning and started it up and it mysteriously was working. I have read elsewhere that pushing and holding the MODE push on the steering wheel mutes and unmutes the volume, but since it is working I am of the opinion "leave well enough alone"😊😊😊😊😊
Hey guys I realized that I didn’t go over the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. Please check out another RAV4 tutorial video to see those buttons! Sorry all.

Thanks Mark you as well!
Welcome back Brian! Glad to see you here again!
Thanks Mark! I appreciate your support so much!
Hi. Great video. My rearview mirror is manual. There are 3 buttons underneath that the manual doesn't explain. What are they for? Thanks.
Thank you. If there are little house symbols on the buttons that’s the garage door opener we call “Home Link”
Awesome video
Thanks!
Very precise and beautiful video

Always the best! :)
Thanks! 😎

Try forgetting device and forgetting car from both setups and restarting from scratch.
Is the button that mark rear that defrost the side mirror
Yes on most RAV4s
I just got one and it will be delivered in 2 weeks
Congrats
Hi Brian! I just got a new phone. Need to pair with my 2022 Rav limited. Is it better to pair by Bluetooth or USB cable?

Hi Brian, does the iPhone 13 Pro Max fit on the wireless charging pad? I’ve read it doesn’t. TIA & keep up the great work 👍🏻
Hey Louie I’m not sure I haven’t tried the 13 pro max if I find someone with one, I’ll try it! Maybe someone with that phone will chime in..
Do you know where the sd card slot is? Thanks
If it has one it would be on the bottom right of the screen
Can you explain how to use the adaptive cruise control? This is so new to me. I just replaced my 15yo highlander hybrid that had none of this.
Yes! This video from Toyota USA should break it down better than 5 paragraphs from me!

They’re phasing it out and into the new Toyota nav system which will eventually be subscription based (my theory)

When this car will come to India
