    just bought a 2024 Rav 4. Last car I had was 25 years old. Don't have a clue what most of this stuff is. Wish you would do one on whats free and whats a subscription. Paying for cable is bad enough. I have an I phone but dont even get email on it. Your video was very helpful. Would take me years to figure this stuff out.

      Use a USB-C or a Lightening cable and plug it into a port on dash that is for Data (as opposed to charging only use). Make sure in settings on your iPhone that “Car Play” is enabled. Then just plug your phone in each time you are going somewhere. It will show much of the same applications, you can choose order on each screen, etc. You may want to search for a vid showing Car Play for your vehicle and year for more info.

    Hi Brian. Sure enjoy your videos. Amazing info. I have a 2023 Highlander. Got a new phone and now i can't get sirius display when navigation is on. It's like reuters, fox, etc... ideas? Thanks so much.

      Hey thanks! I would consider making sure the phone is up to date with software, and restart it. If Sirius radio still won’t display, id reach out to Sirius and see if they cancelled your subscription or if your free trial of the radio has ended.

    Hey Brian, Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question. When using the Sirius XM, it automatically defaults to ESPN when shutting off and then turning the car back on my 2025 Camry SE instead of remembering my favorite radio station. Can I and if so change or remove the unwanted stations?

    • @brianruperti
      @brianruperti  4 місяці тому

      Hi Terry, you’re welcome! Yes tap ESPN and you’ll see a little heart symbol that’s either red, or fully shaded in, Tap the heart symbol to make it hallow and ESPN should go away. You’ve then officially “un-favorited” that channel.

    Thank you for this much detail. I still listen to the radio at times. Do we need to have WiFi now to listen to radio? The “you’re not connected to WiFi “ popped up when looking for the radio. Thank you!

      Thanks for watching. Wifi is not needed. You should be able to select
      Toyota app > audio > enable audio > FM/AM

    Great video, thanks! Is there anyway to stop the annoying pop up windows, at night the bright white and blue messages are extremely blinding, even when setings are set to night light.

    Very useful information and we appreciate it. How do I keep my Android auto running but not wanting to run Sirius XM through my phone? I already pay for satellite Sirius XM therefore don't want to pay for data, especially when there are so many dead cell spots that are drive through. Do I have to remove the app from my phone which I use when I'm out gardening or even showering??

      @brianruperti  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you. You would respect the Toyota app on the car screen, go to audio, then select XM radio.

    I have a 2023 Corolla SE with an almost identical head unit. Do you know how to go back to the main menu options once in Apple Car Play? Once the radio is in that setting, I am unable to switch over to the factory navigation etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏼

      Yes tap the bottom left of the screen and find the Toyota app, or if your car shows dual tool bars, the light grey tool bar, if not there are two arrows on the top left that expand the Toyota tool bar. I hope this helps.

    Bought a 2024 Hybrid RAV4 and really like the car. CarPlay is a disaster waiting to occur. To make CarPlay work you need to take your eye off the road to locate an area on the screen and press it. If things don’t change I’ll be looking for a non-CarPlay replacement soon.

    So can you just tap the voice button on your steering wheel and tell Toyota to turn on your favorite list of FM radio? Or do you have to go in there and select music and all that?
