We just bought a new RAV4 Prime and the cargo cover no longer fits in the storage area. The salesman started to show us how that works and discovered the tire is bigger now so that means there is no room for the cargo cover. Thanks for all the information.
Yup that was the best part because I plan to check my brake calliper slide pins once or twice a year and wasn’t sure if I could do it without doing this to the parking brake. Front slid3 pins are dead easy.
A parking brake and emergency brake are NOT the same thing! Great way to really mess up your car or your life. Everything you see on the internet ISN'T true!
@@soysan34This usage of the electronic parking brake is mentioned in the manual, so the video is correct. Of course people trying it out themselves outside of an emergency, and multiple times, is not a great idea…
The first clip alone was fantastic to know, I've wondered since I bought mine if it would actually be strong enough to stop in an emergency. You earned my like, Thank you!
I’ve been watching this guys videos for a while now. And gotta say. He is by far one of the best adviser by far. Smart man. Thanks for all your knowledge. You helped me out before with replacing my rear brake. And the 9v battery trick. 👍👍👍 keep up the great work. 💯💯
At first glance I thought this was going to be another clickbait video. Far from it. The information is extremely relevant and useful. Especially if you're too lazy (like I am) to read the huge manual front-to-back. So many thanks for a well made and worthwhile video.
Excellent video but one point to consider! Having been in the situation, I’m almost certain that - regarding point 2 - if you lock the car with the key fob, and then try to unlock it with mechanical key, you will trip the car alarm. Not a big deal, but a detailed to keep in mind if you ever find yourself in the situation.
Great information … thank you very much for sharing that! I think today’s cars are being made with a little bit too much technology which makes it very difficult for an owner at times, especially when it tells you to go see the dealer who you know damn well I was going to charge you a good hundred bucks minimum just to diagnose the problem that is obviously easy to do based on what you’ve just shown us here … in some cases.

I have had different VW cars for the last 7 years and I have found no way to release the breaks for maintanance without buying these, what do you call them, devices to go into service mode. On a Toyota you just do that?! Well done Toyota!
Well, damn, I got a like and a heart from @MorozovAutomotive himself on my earlier comment. 😊 It appears this awesome guy takes the time to do that to all his comments but I wanted to let you know that your channel is one of the reasons I felt even more comfortable buying a brand new RAV4 Limited Hybrid (which I pick up *tomorrow* after 14 months’ waiting, I’m not kidding). Nice video. Thank. On non aligned camera lines, you can just keep on reverse+ normal brake and turn wheels left right left, three or four times, it would self align :)

OMG now I know what to do with my car! love this video. So when I was replacing my map lights with led I actually broke a few pieces and I contacted my dealer and they have no idea how I can get the plastic pieces I broke off. Any suggestions of how to get the parts as not even ebay has any of those lights in the ceiling?

You are one of the best UA-cam channels for explaining RAV4 hybrid “ tricks”. Are you a Toyota Mechanic as some of these things are not easy to find in the owners manual. Have you ever ha$ an “ issue” with the small 12 volt battery in the back being discharged? I know how to jump start it because I watched your video but I was wondering if it’s possible to charge, maintain the battery using the same process as you showed by using a 2 amp battery charger / maintainer under the hood rather than in the back of the vehicle. I have heard that this battery will discharge over a period of time with very little to no use of the vehicle. I believe the battery would be okay if you parked the vehicle for 2 or 3 weeks but I think not using the vehicle for 2-4 months would drain the battery as it is always providing power to the ECU ( computer ) and the sensors that detect the key fob etc.
Thank you! You can connect the battery maintainer to the terminals under the hood and charge the 12v battery. Gen5 RAV4's can have issues with 12v battery. If you feel that you have a problem I would address it to the dealership.
Thanks. I am teaching my granddaughter to drive and the emergency brake thing can be useful there if needed. Also, where did you get the netting on the right side in the baggage area where you have a first aid kit? That seems really useful. I was disappointed that Toyota removed the hooks they had in the back in later models, it was perfect for hanging bags from the grocery store so they don’t fall over and move around. I ended up gluing one to each side.
@MorozovAutomotive hi there. I'm so glad I've stumbled onto ur very informative and well laid out clips. Excellent!!! Calm voice...great instructions and ur camera guy is awesome too!!! Many thx from a previously ...living in BC...too!! Again, well done. God bless you both 🙏 🐾🕊
I’ve found to get the dynamic lines on the backup camera you usually just need to be in reverse and then go to the extremes on the steering wheel and the lines will appear. No need to go into the service menu. I do it all the time on new Rav4s where this step was missed in the predelivery inspection.
Great information. Thanks for sharing. Is there a way of permanently disabling the "Stop & Start system" operation? I find the car stopping at full stops annoying based on applied brake pedal pressure. If there's a reason not to permanently disable please advise. Thanks
Thank you! Our RAV4 does not have the stop and start system. But I know that people are using these kits to disable it: Auto Start Stop Eliminator/Delete/Disable/Disabler/Canceller, for Toyota RAV4 2020 2021 2022, Automatic Stop Start Engine System Cancel Device - amzn.to/3q0pqmS. There should not be any problems if you disable the auto start stop function.
When you pull up (and hold) the electronic parking brake "and" the car abs computer senses the car is in still motion, the abs braking computer is programed to take that as a emergency braking request, and it opens valves to the braking system to supply pressure from the abs pump to all four brakes ,(With the abs still active if its slippery) to stop the car as quickly as possabe "in a controled mannor" , its not only useful for the driver to be aware of this but any pasenger riding in passenger front seat could act to stop the car in case the driver experences a medical emergency. I am going to assume cars systems are also programed for this action to override an incapacitated driver with there foot still holding down the throttle, killing all engine power to the wheels. if the system can not build braking pressure (It has a sensor in the abs module that reads this) due to hydraulic system failure that it would then go to plan "B" and apply the mechanical parking brake servo just like someone pulled the mechnical hand brake , it would not stop as fast in this case .. Make sure kids riding in the car know not to touch it unless its an emergency.. or the driver (and traffic behind them) are in for a nasty suprise..
