People enjoy familiarization. We just traded in a 10 year old Avalon for a RAV4 limited and most of the controls are in the same location. I believe this is one of the reason Toyotas remain a top seller. We really enjoy the new RAV4.
I personally think Avalon is pretty underrated, my family had it for 8 years, It was one of the most reliable cars that I had ever seen. Got us all features and everything you wanted.
Bunch of whiners here. Most people do not want new tech, and they prioritize reliability. That’s why the RAV4 is the best seller in its class. No one really comes close.

Thank you for this review; I love how straightforward and Indepth you guys are. I'm thinking about upgrading my 2014 RAV4 Limited to the 2025 Limited or Hybrid Limited. Time to check out your hybrid video.
This in my opinion was the best generation of RAV4 imo. So many different choices to choose from and 3 different powertrains. This is why it was the best selling and I think it still is the best. Perfectly sized, reliable, efficient, comfortable, decently nice on the inside. The perfect car for anybody and it still looks good 👌
The new Rav4 is solid, some guy already posted 440000miles. I loved the AWD, wish i could pick one up before they discontinued this generation. My Rav4 saved me many winters in Canada
There are two changes for 2025 not mentioned by Toyota yet: 1.) Now #1 rated for reliability by Consumer Reports than any new vehicle on the market (RAV4 gas only). 2.) Built in Japan RAV4 gas (sold in California state only) no longer in production anymore, due to more production of hybrid this year.
Same! Just ordered a Rav4 Hybrid cruiser in frosted white with nutmeg interior!! It’s awaiting pickup. I haven’t even driven or been in one of these later rav4’s, but I’m confident it will be great. That nutmeg (beige) interior really gives the rav4 a very premium/euro feel.

I just got this new rav4 and I already have problem with my transmission. Speaking of luck for me. I should have just stick with my old camry and not traded it😣😣😣
My GF got one as a rental, 2024 XLE. I’ve been in the car market a bit for a compact SUV, coming from an 09 Highlander Hybrid Limited. The RAV4 is literally the worst car I’ve driven in a while. Only 20K miles, but felt incredibly cheap everywhere, bad road and wind noise, wireless car play didn’t stay connected, and wired CarPlay wouldn’t work across two different cables. It felt like a counterfeit compared to my old Toyota
I own a 2013 Honda Crv and rented a RAV4 to see if I would trade my car for it. Very disappointed with so many things even though it’s a newer vehicle. I like the look but that’s about it lol….and I didn’t purchase a RAV4 then but I kept my Crv anyways. I’m finally replacing it next year with something else. I’d consider a redesigned Rav if it comes out soon but it needs to be way better than this one, especially the cargo area, rear legroom and enough with the cheap plastic Toyota.
This is the Color and Trim I would recommend to family and friends if they would be in the market for a new vehicle. I am looking forward to the next generation which I hope is larger and has increased interior space.
Why are the bezels so large on the center display...makes it look silly. Reduce the bezels and keep the screen size and and the proportions would look so much better.
The rav4 back seats feel like youre sitting on rocks. And that armrest on the door is super uncomfortable. Bad car for carrying passengers. Bad car all around.
Thank you for another great review guys. Ugliest SUV in the class and an econobox interior. But, it's a Toyota, so it's reliable and has outstanding resale value. Really looking forward to the redesign.
Still can’t buy either a new or a hybrid 2024 or 2025 RAV4 in British Columbia, Canada. You can leave a deposit and wait how long I don’t know. You also can’t test drive one except a used one which belongs to one of the salesmen.
It may be a good car but I find the visibility to be low and the large gap of space between the tire and trim is too much. Also the infotainment screen is an eye sore and sticks out in a distracting way, should be more flush.
Is there enough driver seat adjustment for a 5' 11" guy? I briefly sat in a 2023 hybrid recently and there wasn't enough rearward driver's seat adjustment for my liking. Not enough height adjustment either. Also, on this 2025 XLE Limited it appears that the auto stop/start button is a dummy. Did Toyota FINALLY do away with this stupid feature? I sure hope so.
I’m the same height as you and fit in just fine, I like to sit quite high in the seat so the screen in the centre never gets in my way . But I will say that the seat on my previous vehicle a Toyota Station wagon some 20 years old went much further back but of course was unpowered, un heated and unventilated 😀 . Toyota doesn’t seem to make those big station wagons any more and the R4 seemed a good enough swap, not least getting 40% better gas mileage than the smaller engine in my old wagon. However I suggest you sit in one for a while and play with the settings , could be a deal breaker for sure.
It's not too bad. I'm 6'1 and have driven the 2019 LE and 2024 XLE models and the driver seat sits okay, but lacks a bit in rear leg room for someone behind you. The issue is more the passenger seat, it doesn't adjust as well as the driver seat and is not as comfortable or have as much room, and the cabin doesn't feel as spacious as the exterior looks. Better than the 2024 and 2025 CRVs, but not by much. Not super impressed with the quality of the RAV-4 interiors of this generation anymore. I feel like you are majorly overpaying for mediocre materials and comfort.
Had a 2024 LE trim for 1 month. Traded in on a 25 Nissan Rogue Platinum AWD. The RAV was just too basic and noisy. If I had of gotten the Hybrid or Limited, I probably would have stayed with the RAV. LOVE my Rogue however.
Was considering the new rav4 last week when shopping for vehicles. Unfortunately the outdated looks didn't sit well with me. Went with something else. Not sure why it takes a decade for Toyota to redesign their vehicles.
The problem with this car is the entertainment system. The speakers are okay, not great. Even the JBL. Then you have a nice entertainment screen. Everything is sharp and fast, but CarPlay is just big. All the icons feel too big. The screen is sharp, but it feels like a low resolution big screen. I can’t lay my finger on why it is this way, but it just feels off…
Many newer rav4's are all plagued by a "engine stopped steering power low" problem that is occurring for no reason. Happened to me. Toyota needs a recall for this.
The 2026 will have the TSS 3.0. Just be patient. The 2025 camry are all hybrid in all trims which is a bummer has it already. I wanted to get one but the front grill I can't over with specially with price tag.
The RAV4 isn’t a bad car. I just feel other cars do everything but the reliability better. It’s pretty loud inside, that engine seems super stressed, and it isn’t the roomiest as well. Still, if reliability and resale is all you care about and you’re willing to pay the premium, not a bad car.
Some really annoying things on our 2020 XSE Hybrid AWD..........a squeak from the console when it's cool/cold outside, very un-Toyota like, a useless wireless charge pad which they couldn't be bothered to give a nonslip surface so the phone slides around and never charges, and the OE remote start KILLS THE ENGINE when you open the door! They say for security but you can't steal it without the remote anyway so that is a load of crap. If Ford can figure out keeping it running then there is truly no excuse for Toyota.
I have the 2024 xle- only two things bother me about it… the dashboard is so deeply set that i have a hard time reading it. And the infotainment system is A NIGHTMARE to use. Even a year later i still get lost in it all the time when im trying to find sirious radio- I can imagine how many accidents that has caused. also… did you know t that if you don’t plug your phone into the car you have no map…. I didnt. Oh… and the car drives kinda loud so you’re never gonna get good quality sound while you are driving, no matter how many speakers
It's just very, very dated. I imagine the new model, whenever it is released, with much more modern. Especially to compete with the new Equinox. That tablet looking display sticking out of the dash is at least a 10 year old design.
Can they please redesign the front? It looks so ugly. So sad they discontinued the Venza without updating the RAV4's face. It's so ugly. Should have kept the Venza. I'd get the Mazda CX50 Hybrid just to not look at the ugly front .
I rent one of these every time I go to my house in Costa Rica. It’s basically ok. Fine to get the job done but I’d never have one as my daily. Really gutless.
Definitely not worth what it costs new. Great buy used though. Although there are better options that drive better and don't feel cheap unless you pay over 40,000 for limited version.
Complain what you want about the looks, it stills drives great, it is not overpriced and has the just amount of techy nonsense. It is a machine for driving, and in that matter it is a solid 8 out of 10. Since when people care more about screens or dashboards than about engines and suspension?
You realize some cars and models continue with their same model of trim interior for a number of years then change it up. If they changed it up constantly, nobody would buy it.
so many things they did wrong. little things that would keep me from buying this: giant knobs, ugly plastic near the exhuast. the only good i see is the interier screen. everything else seem regular/standard. looks like ill keep my paid off rav4 for another year.
People do like a boring appliance to get from point A to B. That's what this is. Mediocre reliability and quality, with a design that looks a decade old.
I’m glad they simplified and are going to simplify the trim structure because having this: Le Xle XLE premium Adventure TRD off road Woodland (hybrid) Limited SE(hybrid) XSE(hybrid) And prime SE and XSE models Yeah…. I some how memorized them. On Toyotas website that seems like a lot of trim levels 😅. It’s gonna be like the Camry for the next generation and have 4 trims I think and it may be a hybrid only RAV4 as that’s what sells the most.
My most sincere opinion I bought one at the agency 2022 and let me say that it is the worst SUV I have ever bought in my life ... maybe it is 1 in 1 million, it came out super defective .. very defective I took it to the dealer 6 times in 1 month for different reasons .. battery, lack of power, knocks in the transmission. very sloppy handling .. black exhaust and excess fuel ... I bought a Kia and let me tell you that it is the best that in my own opinion I have bought. I am fascinated with my 2025 Kia Sportage .. I thought that because it was a Toyota it would be a good option but noooo .. I repeat maybe I got 1 in 1 million the defective one
Well pleased with our new hybrid XLE Premium AWD in terms of mpg, reliability, and comfort. It's pricey (but that's the norm with new cars today) and has some road noise (it's not a luxury vehicle so it is still acceptable for this class). Had looked at the new, roomier CR-V but crossed that off the shopping list because of the crazy Honda recalls of late. IMO, this RAV4 has aged well with proven reliability. Had an interest to wait for the next RAV4 generation to come out, but the pending tariffs (should it actually became reality) did sway us to buy the 2024 model NOW (btw, I've been to 3 dealers ... and they can't keep them on the lot because the RAV4 sells out). The RAV4s are manufactured in Japan (like ours) and Canada ... so it's expected their prices will go up IF the tariffs go into effect (btw, we also bought the new 2025 Camry XLE which was a 2 month wait).
If something will come in 2026, the new gen RAV4, it's going to be only worse. The last two years, especially this current 2024, Toyota shown only going "south". The 2025 Camry is already CVT transmission on all models, I bet 2026 RAV4 will also be CVT on all the models and trims. 2025 RAV4 is still on a traditional transmission that will last long mileages. The 2018-2024 Camrys had the same transmission model as the current 2019-2025 RAV4.
The Toyota RAV4 is a popular choice! It's got a reputation for being reliable and versatile, perfect for both city driving and outdoor adventures. Plus, it has a spacious interior and good fuel efficiency.
RAV4 continues to be a joke of a product no matter how well it sells. Heated steering wheel but only in sections??(LOLL), dated interior, lightbulb reverse and turn signals not LED. Unbelievable

@@mraetnts Would you prefer a quieter 3 cylinder “engine” that instead of humming, hisses?
@juanvilchez no. V6 preferably.
I’ve had a 2022 limited hybrid. Never thought it looked like a rental. And I like the size of the “tablet”. Great for maps, gps.
rav 4 are the bestt
I’ll buy the next generation if they keep the ICE models. I don’t want a hybrid
Then buy the current one. The chances of the next generation being all hybrid is lie 75-90%
Power train will follow the new Camrys. So there’s a high chance it will be all hybrid
Here in NZ you can only get Hybrids, so that’s probably where they are heading for you guys.
I don't really like the Toyota RAV4 it's a little bit too small I would have went for a Honda CRV
Jest różnica przestrzeni w środku?
CRV 's are Alot more
I guess it’s the same battery. Not good
wait a minute..... that looks an awful lot like the 2016 RAV4? why is toyota intent on using 10 year old models every year?
Awesome review 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩✨🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩✨🙋🏻♀️✨🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚗💝💫
Too expensive. I like the Mazda MX-30 and MX-5 more and they are cheaper
200 hp is embarrassing. Come on Toyota give use the 350-400 hp SUVs
if the vin number not start with j dont buy it all make in canada vin number start with number 2
I have never like the Rav4 and never will, never mind most Taxi car are Rav4.
People do like a boring appliance to get from point A to B. That's what this is. Mediocre reliability and quality, with a design that looks a decade old.
I’m glad they simplified and are going to simplify the trim structure because having this:
Le
Xle
XLE premium
Adventure
TRD off road
Woodland (hybrid)
Limited
SE(hybrid)
XSE(hybrid)
And prime SE and XSE models
Yeah….
Even though I like it, there's no way at $42,000...Nope
Toyota quality is declining and I wouldn’t touch anything 2025 and beyond.
Most of the clown commenters on here must live in their cars. I just want a reliable vehicle that's going to last 15 years.
I love the RAV4 but I’m looking at the 2025 Kia Sportage fully loaded model🍩🍩🍩🍩✨✨💝✨✨✨🚙🚙🚙✨🙋🏻♀️✨💫
🤡
If something will come in 2026, the new gen RAV4, it's going to be only worse. The last two years, especially this current 2024, Toyota shown only going "south". The 2025 Camry is already CVT transmission on all models, I bet 2026 RAV4 will also be CVT on all the models and trims. 2025 RAV4 is still on a traditional transmission that will last long mileages. The 2018-2024 Camrys had the same transmission model as the current 2019-2025 RAV4.
The 2025 is also all CVT. Sadly. It's the worst transmission ever made. Why does Toyota use them on every car? Because Toyota sucks.
Still using incandescent in 2025 😔
A $2 bulb is way more cost effective to replace than a malfunctioning LED assembly that costs $600 to replace.
I bet the next generation will still not be LED 😅😅😂😂
The Toyota RAV4 is a popular choice! It's got a reputation for being reliable and versatile, perfect for both city driving and outdoor adventures. Plus, it has a spacious interior and good fuel efficiency.
So your back to those comments again? We know this stuff already! Also the RAV-4 is not spacious.
What’s spacious about a compact SUV? 😂
CVT? Tech from 2008? No LED lights? Ugly? Uncomfortable? Plastic everywhere? No thanks bud.
RAV4 continues to be a joke of a product no matter how well it sells. Heated steering wheel but only in sections??(LOLL), dated interior, lightbulb reverse and turn signals not LED. Unbelievable
This car is great if you want something boring, like generic beer.
Kiedyś dojrzejesz do opinii że zwykłe dobrej jakości piwo jest najlepsze. Takie właśnie piwo jest pite od wieków. Reszta to epizody.
@ sounds like your cup has always been half full. 😹
LMAO. Agreed. Such a tiring vehicle
Rav4 so boring, i even fell asleep watching the video lol
Lmaooooooo
Hyundai Tuscon2025 is better. The Rav 4 never evolves
@@forte7991 agreed. The next generation rav4 is already outclassed and we haven’t even seen it yet. How unfortunate but unsurprising
@@naveenthemachineyur statement makes no sense
The back is just so ugly
Nothing special, so snoring engine, interior design Korea car more modern technology and splendid than Rav .
