Feeling that Way and Anytime were always performed live together. They switched up how they sang it and improvised when they did the songs live. This version I believe was frim the Midnight Soecial but my favorite version was ion their two live album recording Captured which I suggest you check out as its a faster tempo and complete fire.
"Anytime" is a great song but I always felt it didn't quite suit Steve Perry's voice. And now that I can look into things online I've learned it wasn't written for his voice. Both songs are from before SP joined the band, but he worked with them to tweak "Feeling That Way" to fit better with his voice, but Anytime was left as it was. I love this era of Journey where they were trying to adapt to each other's styles, the bluesy rock feel of this song blended with the doo-wop elements SP brought in. Somehow it all works together, plus it's just a great song. Nice reaction!
The “pianist “ ?!? That’s Gregg freakin Rolie! Ever hear of Santana ? You know he only played guitar… didn’t sing … he used Gregg Rolie. Perry is great, with a unique voice, but that’s it.
Perry can play drums (he was the drummer in his 1st ever band, he knows his way around a guitar and piano,he writes and produces, not to mention his vocals,that's it !!!!
