  • "Feeling That Way" is a track from Journey's album "Infinity," showcasing Steve Perry's soulful vocals and the band's melodic rock style. It's known for its smooth, mellow vibe and catchy melodies. This performance happened on Midnight Special, a popular late-night musical television show in the '70s and '80s, on April 28, 1978.
"Infinity" was Journey's fourth studio album, released in 1978. It marked a significant turning point for the band as it was the first album to feature Steve Perry as their lead vocalist, bringing a distinct sound to their music. Perry's powerful and emotive voice became a signature of Journey's style.
The album also introduced Neal Schon's guitar work prominently, combining his rock sensibilities with Perry's vocals. "Infinity" marked a shift towards a more radio-friendly sound, blending elements of hard rock with a more melodic and accessible approach, setting the stage for their future success.
The tracks "Wheel in the Sky" and "Lights" became major hits from this album and contributed significantly to Journey's rising popularity.

Journey were pioneers in the business, not afraid to take chances, ahead of their time. Doesn't matter what critics say, it only matters what the fans say. They were an extreme success.

I saw Journey with Steve Perry in 1986. That was the last tour he did with Journey.

Steve Perry's vocals will stand up to anyone you might compare him to; he is the GOAT. The harmonies on this song are gorgeous. Unfortunately, I never saw Journey because they didn't come to Winnipeg.

In 1978, the very first song I ever heard from Journey was 'Lights' and then 'Wheel In the Sky, Feelin' That Way and Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'.
However!! I didn't know who they were! BUT! I knew that VOICE!!!!!
It wasn't until 1980, when a friend introduced me to Journey! And once I saw the face of The Voice, I knew I was going to be a fan of his/theirs!
I have been so grateful over the years to have seen Classic Journey back in 1983. Journey played for 3 sold out shows in Houston, Tx. Where my best friend and I went to the 2 last shows. I also saw Journey for their 1986 Raised On Radio tour also in Houston. Which so happens to have been Steve Perry's last tour with Journey. And for Steve Perry's very first and only solo tour in Ft. Worth, Tx
Seeing Classic Journey live has lived in my heart over all these years. And to this day, it still feels like it was just yesterday when I saw them.
Perry has a way of making you feel as if you were the ONLY fan in that arena!! The way he does the 'search' and then points in your direction. making you feel as if he truly was looking for YOU!!!
He would also ask the guys to 'turn the house lights on, so I can see my friends!!!' So yeah!!!
Other great songs to react to (besides the most radio played songs) should be .............
'Girl Can't Help It, The Party's Over (studio version), Ask The Lonely, Message Of Love, I'll Be Alright Without You, Just the Same Way, Why Can't This Night Go On Forever, Still She Cries, Escape, Who's Cryin' Now, Still They Ride (< my most favorite), Mother Father (studio first and then live from Houston, Tx), Sweet And Simple, Too Late, Any Way You Want It, Trial By Fire (which I have been listening to alot lately, I really never knew just how GREAT the song truly is!), Do You Recall, Good Mornin Girl, Soon Day Soon, People And Places, Somethin' to Hide'
And I think that's about it for now!...lol... Happy Journey!!
