“ when my dad died of a heart attack he had fallen off the bed. People would try n comfort me.... they’d say ‘ he’s n a better place now!’...... better place? .... he WAS on the BED..... Now he’s on .... THE FLOOR!!!” - Norm

They said don’t worry, he had a heart attack in his sleep, he probably felt nothing. I said really? His heart attacked him when he was asleep and he didn’t wake up? Cause I wake up if my cat walks across my belly.

If you strip away the comedy - NM was still a treasure - profound, thoughtful, honest, and adorable - a great man.

He talked about what a hero actor Richard Farnsworth was when he kept his cancer a secret and took his own life without anybody knowing...I'd say that's where Norm got the path he took...I have to say Robin Williams death also hit me hard but Norm was a tough loss...he went out with such dignity and he laughed literally in the face of death...RIP

Love how these guys said "and he's old". They really think that 61 is old. Guess I would have when I was FIFTEEN as well.

61 is old, you’ve just been conditioned by an increasing human life expectancy to think otherwise. We’re only built to live till 40ish. Science and medicine have come a long way, but they still haven’t improved quality of life at older ages.

That bit in the clip you showed where he says "My aim is to not die".... He'd done the whole "why don't they cure death" bit before but seeing it then, when he surely knew he didn't have long left, man that's brutal. It's like a punch in the gut. How totally Norm to keep it secret in order to not ruin his comedy.

He found out in 2013 but if any of these guys were real friends, they wouldn't miss the changes over the years. The bloat from steroids (never looked fat) the weight loss, the hair loss, the grey skin at times, the lack of sparkle in those eyes. He was tired, even if you don't know it's cancer, it's something.

@@myflatlineconstruct it was sad, but he planned his end it seemed to some degree. He did what he could for money, online etc. He downsized his home, had limited furniture etc. and someone said moved closer to the hospital because he doesn't drive.
