- Norm talks about Pee-Wee Herman, his disastrous celebrity golf tournament, International Star Search and working on The Norm Show. The interview goes well... up to a point.
How long will it take "I'm Not Norm" to steal this video? The countdown is on.

I'm gonna be watching Norm clips for the rest of my life.
Ditto
Yes me too! his comedy will only become funnier and more legendary now that he’s gone
Same brother and guess what, so will the little animals that come out my balls after they fertilize the eggs in my wife and out of her womb 9 months later. Of course I will wait 3-5 years when they can actually comprehand something. Gotta teach those tumors the essence of life.
If you look at his IMDb listings under 'self', there is a crazy amount of talk show appearances that aren't online and have never been. I really wish Conan, Leno, whoever else, would do a comprehensive upload of all of it. Conan especially, Norm was on his show way more in the 90s than people realize according to IMDb. O'Brien has all the tapes in best quality. His Letterman appearances at least are all beautifully preserved and posted in order in their entirety thanks to Don Giller.
Me too
Only one good thing has come from Norm’s passing: People are posting tons of talk show appearances I never knew existed. This one is fantastically funny!
He died? Didn't knew he was sick
Do you know another great thing that has come from Norm's passing? Yeah you guessed it. Frank Stallone.
Oh yes it's all come full circle; you know what they say, when one door closes another one opens
The man should've lived another 20 or 25 years...but yeah yr right, these clips make it better.
And hey... Norm would love us revisiting and laughing cuz like we need to have something to laugh at about now.
One of my favorite things about norm is that he could slowly turn a crowd into an unruly mob with his Comedy.
Reminds me of a certain silver-tongued devil who also had that talent. Born on 4/20, his eyes almost entirely black. Odd looking duck. Something about his eyes.... hypnotic.
@@Bonez0r maybe the worst gimmick a comic ever had.
The more norm isn't alive, the more I don't care for it.
@TurnedLeftAtTheRockyMountains schkrankely krankely!
ua-cam.com/video/Hu1saPEOanY/v-deo.html
I heard that guy’s a real jerk
It’s getting worse everyday RIP Norm
Reminds me of that tragedy.
"I'm the celebrity...as you know"...it's so damn funny!
"I hate that, Jay", so sweet. Sometimes its really odd to think Norm isnt alive. I love Norm so much.
It's really odd all the time :(
Norm always felt more like a funny friend than a celebrity
Sometimes? It's merely 5 days ago..
The greatest comedian to ever live
He's still alive in my heart ❤ XD he's making God laugh now....probably telling that Swedish German joke to Gabriel and some of the othes lol
"Too bad that you're not as smart as you thought you were in the first place." I love how The TonightShow band is playing his TV Show's theme song as he walks out. Always loved The Norm Show. He was my favorite comic growing up, and always a go-to in my adult life to watch when I'm feeling sad. Still binge watching Norm, which has always been a monthly thing I do. Just now its a daily binge. I don't want to believe that Norm MacDonald is actually gone. Rest easy, Normy.
That song is by Doug and the Slugs, a Canadian band. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing they weren't known in the States.
@@clark9992 you are correct.
This is gold. Jay can barely control himself laughing his ass off. I remember the bit about the 3/4 of a star, always makes me laugh. I loved how he didn’t care about the shows he was supposed to promote, in it for the laughs, ALWAYS. ❤️
I can't believe he's not with us anymore. Anyone lucky enough to sit in his presence was reduced to a childlike state of giggling and awe. He seemed like such a caring soul. Rest in peace, Norm.
"A state of awe"? What, was he good at math or something?
@@kevindean1327 being good at math is all it takes to inspire awe in you? Nice
@@kevindean1327 Being in the presence of genius, whether it be comedic, mathematical, literary, etc., should be enough to inspire awe. I'm more jaded than I'd like to be, but at least I can appreciate genius and feel awe in its presence.
Norm is a diamond now.
Norm's the world's only reason I'd watch a Leno clip.
🙄
Same !!
Leno is great.
Leno really was a jackass
Eh, I love Norm but I think Jay’s alright too… And Jay was good to Norm over the years… Much better than the phony douchebags like Fallon, Kimmel and Colbert. I especially cracked up when Jay had Norm drive an Alfa Romeo around the track on an episode of Leno’s Garage- funny stuff IMHO.
It’s interesting when you compare Norm’s talk show appearances with other celebrities and even other comedians, because everything he says is funny-and he makes it look easy.
Besides being the smartest and funniest comedian around, Norm was by far the best looking, and so seemingly unaware of how handsome and charming he was... I'm so sad he's gone but I'm loving all the videos everyone's posting...
100% agree, he was hot! 🔥
My dream man. I'll live alone the rest of my life...
I agree as well.
But deeply closeted…
Sorry to disappoint you. But Norm's a deeply closeted gay guy.
5:23, "I was from Canada...ya know....so I represented Canada"
Thank you for uploading this, I mean it.
You're very welcome.
the sick child line was pure norm
TJ and he said "I'm wasting his last precious moments"
@@barflytom3273 it was brilliant. He went from self-aggrandizement to self-deprecation with Incredible Grace
I love how nervous and awkward he appears. Like, despite his apprehension, he still somehow manages to imbue it with a sort of charm. But this is more of a comment really
Ah, I loved the Norm Show. I was pissed when it was canceled.
The "theme" was the iconic Canadian party band Doug and the Slugs' "Too bad". RIP Norm and Doug Bennett!!!
It’s not like any of us have ever shook his hand. We know Norm from movie and television, some of us may have been lucky enough to see him do a stand up live. I do feel bad for his friends and family, but Norm will be with us always with all his brilliant comedic material. He obviously did not want to be pitied, hence keeping his Battle with cancer a secret. I respect his wishes, and can only thank him for his unique comedic style.
The Norm Show was actually pretty funny. But I loved anything Norm was in. RIP. Brutal.
Ah yes RIP Brutal. And to think, i didn't even know he was sick
The mike Tyson mysteries seemed to allow him to go all out
@@MNizamee I love that everyone talking about him says, Gee, I didn't he was sick. It makes me smile but sad.
Just finished binge watching the Norm Show, it's great! Way better than many 90s sitcoms.
@@eilishoshea3349 Anna Heimducks
Jay is really laughing at Norm. Love that!! ❤
Norm is literally the only person who makes me smile after being sad, upon realizing he just passed...it's weird...like...Norm himself instantly cheers me up, b/c of all the humor surrounding him🤷🏿♂️😄
I feel the exact same way…….
Norm is part of you & those who love him - Norm will always be here - I've been laughing so hard & tears
I will never forget Norm.
I will never forgive Norm
Just couldn’t get a jacket that fit in the 80s. Ten whole years. It was torture.
8:51 can’t stop watching Norm’s joyful reaction 💜
true, he was so full of life here
Completely agree! Love seeing that.
Bless you for posting this 🙏
Stuff like this is the only good to come of Norm leaving this vale of tears. Clips of his wonderful talent I've never seen before. I could watch hours of him when he was on a roll like this.
did u see his kimmel set from 2011, check it out if u havent
Nothing like a guy that can make you laugh. He had that “infectious” kind of humor, you just couldn’t help yourself from laughing. Just looking at him before he even said the joke and I’d be smiling big-time, knowing it was going to be funny.
God, I miss him 😢
Normie, Normie, Normie.
Hockey Normie
Norm is so handsome. 🥰
He was a doll
Tall drink of water😍
Norm is busting Jay's ball and Jay's been actually amused... *Watch how Norm jumps on the couch, when Jay tries to salvage a bit of his dignity, by showing the blank paper. GOLD !
Life goals: Start boozing and get people to punch me in the liver.
Wow I didn't know you were famous! We should go golfing
@@acidraindrops27 I'll introduce you to Chachi.
Called Jay a jackass, then qualified it by saying he meant himself, then pointed out that Jay has to use note cards for the interviews. Brilliant! I love Norm.
How am I just seeing this? This is gold Jerry, gold.
Soup is not a meal Jerry!
Applause joke is hilarious!
"I'm not Norm" about to download this video.
The walk-out music was by Doug and the Slugs, a Canadian band.
Luv him
So much
Man alive, you guys. The business man/Chachi story is gold! Good lord!
Never seen this one before, hilarious.
I'm a moron. I never thought Norm was funny. Then when he died I started watching his clips here on UA-cam. The dude was hilarious!!!!!! RIP Norm!
Johnny would have loved him
True
he was more of a Jay comic so....
@@hugonongbri8100 Johnny was probably watching at home
@@craggles7538 No, he has a Yak on his chest.
I can't stop watching norm😵💫
Good to see an appearance I have not seen yet. Very funny.
A story about Norm bombing is funnier than most comedians best stuff
Didn't think Norm would work on Leno because it was more wholesome. This is fucking hilarious.
Norm was funny in normal conversations, I could listen to him talk for hours.
Rest in Peace Norm Macdonald I love you as Weekend Update anchor for 4 seasons of SNL. You're a comedy legend. 😢😭😢😭
45 seconds in a he hits with a killer joke.
My God that's a handsome man. I saw both of these men on David Spade's show. Both very funny.
The cigar joke was so good :)
I’ve been a Norm Fan since the 90’s, but lately I’ve become obsessed with all his clips -- he’s seriously an ICON!!!!!
He was adorable here.
His family was so lucky to have known him and spent time with him and I am sure he was lucky to have them too. I can't even watch Norm videos without feeling sad :(
I love you Norm, and I’m really sad that you’re not here right now , I think we all are.
I love that the band played Too Bad from the show. Personally, I loved The Norm Show (aka Norm) and hate it ended so anticlimactic because of cancelation.
Yeah, he's no Pierre Berton, but Norm's pretty big in Canada.
8:50 so adorable
Not often I would watch a Leno clip.
Hope somebody does a good documentary about him someday.
Me too.Loved Norm
"I am a jackass" ...realist thing Leno's ever said
This aired on the day my husband and I got married. ♥️♥️
Funny, funny, man. R.I.P. Norm
R.I.P. Norm Macdonald (1959-2021)
Anything for a laugh, even if it means you're the target. Always loved how he would see the lighter side of earth life. Gotta love Norm. Even his own celebrity was fair game.
Watching norm is a high level addiction
Thought I’d wake up this week and find out that norm being gone was all a dream
I assume he's talking about Artie Lange, right?
He mentions him by name, so yes
God bless Norm! What a great man and great comedian!
I watched every Star Search when I was a little girl I’m sure I saw Norman Macdonald on it when he was on!
This is one of the best late night appearances ever. Love you Norm. 🙏🏼💔
The people who had the chance to play golf with Norm, had no idea how much of a honor that was and how lucky they are. I would have given my right arm to play in a celebrity golf tournament with Norm. I never knew that Norm has the same birthday as me. Norm was definitely the most intelligent and best comedian of all time.
What an absolutely gorgeous talent. His truth just shines.
Norm will live forever
Norm just got me to watch Leno. WTF?!
I only knew him after his death and After binge watching his clips for 4 days I can’t believe that he is dead
We love you Norm
This man is beyond funny
Miss him! God bless you in Heaven Norm
Norm really wasn’t “more of a Jay comic.”
Simply the best Norm.x. R.I.P. ❤️
Norm was a shining star, that's for sure!
Weird that this was contemporary with the Sopranos. It looks so old!
Nice theme from the Norm Show
"social workers are harmless unless you're a..." UNLESS YOU'RE A WHAT, NORM?
I love how Norm is so Canadian in this clip. He thinks he may have possibly insulted Jay by the “jackass” comment and so he proceeds to apologize for the remainder of the segment.
No. That was part of the bit. Norm loved the socially awkward moments. He’d pretend to accidentally insult Letterman with some pretty vicious stuff and the apologize profusely yet inadequately. His cringe humor was anything but subtle
@@drdrew3 In my view the truth lies between your respective comments, one of which was overly innocent, the other a little overly knowing ("vicious", "anything but subtle").
But he did love the socially awkward moments, up to and including outright bombing. He confirmed it in so many words in one radio interview I listened to.
@@drdrew3 I honestly don’t see how your comment is different from mine. If you see a difference then you don’t understand Canadians.
@@drdrew3 It was a genuine Canadian apology, even if he played it for laughs. He didn't mean to say what he said, and was honest in apologizing for possibly (inadvertently) insulting Jay.
If you don't get that, you not Canadian.
Sorry.
?? His schtick is to passive-aggressively or clumsily insult and then wash over with a compliment or apology. But, I don’t believe anything he said was by accident; it was all for the bit.
The entire comedic community knows Jay is a jackass. It was Norm’s “inside joke” for them,to watch how Jay recovers from being implied a jackass on his own show, in front of his own audience, in his “house”.
Norm was a very smart and humble guy; nothing he loved more than to knock those down who aren’t, a peg or two, in a way that only Norm can pull off.
That “who me? , nah, I love everybody.” way.
I’m here for Norm. Not Jay.
2024... never heard or seen of this comedy genius before... Avid fan from Perth Scotland.
Funniest Guy on the F... Planet.
Holy Lord, Norm was a gorgeous human being
Brilliant too! 🌟
His son looks like him too.
So adorable. I wish he wasn't so lonely in life, but he did have his family with him toward he end of his life. Lived near or with son and Mom.
I dont think he was lonely.
The Irony is the Great Norm MacDonald was a Beloved Celebrity amongst most "celebrities" in the Real World
Thanks a bunch. I'm in stitches. I never saw this whole segment before, only a few lines.
Andy, the Swedish-German, could take a lesson or two from Leno. Norm made fun of him and he even agreed. And I don’t even like Leno.
Andy talked about this on the most recent episode of Conan's podcast.
Leno's reaction to Norm passing was genuine and very insightful - I liked how he compared Norm to Bob Dylan. He really admired and liked Norm.
@@AisuruMirai yeah, that’s what I’m referencing. Norm was just trolling Andy and he took the bait. Obvi the joke isn’t about Andy being gay. Clearly Norm knew this bothered Andy so he just kept on. Good ol’ Normy.
@@brendammitWhy do say Andy "took the bait"? How?
@@AisuruMirai because his repeated tweeting about it basically going “BUT I DON’T CARE ABOUT THE SWEDISH-GERMAN THING!” oblivious to the fact that repeatedly bringing it up constituted appearing to care about it.
Such a gloriously late 90s clip, complete with the OG American Pie era Jason Biggs plug at the end.
Norm calling Jay a jackass to his face is freakin great!
I like Jay Leno and I don't care what anyone thinks. Also, Norm's appearances on the Tonight Show are underrated. Everyone talks about Conan and Letterman, but Norm on Leno slayed every time. He didn't have the connection like with Dave/Conan, but Leno was a pro and let Norm have the floor.
His celebrity golf story was gloriously tragic.
Norm is such a jay comic, I love his jay jokes, like the university of science dog house or the Adam Eget queens borough bridge jay joke or the rehab twin bed old fashioned jay guy joke
