@@WeAreVisionaries honestly I didn't even know Wraithmarsh was Oakvale until a couple years after I played Fable 2 so a first time seeing the dlc could easily been overlooked
fable may suck in a lot of ways, but it’s usually really good about linking the games together and I always appreciated the small story bits that make the overall story more in depth :)
The Necromancer inside the cursed skull is also voiced by Peter Dickson who is the voice over for X Factor & Britains Got Talent. Always found that insanely comical
My favourite part about Knothole Island remains that you get the option to resurrect your dog if you sacrifice a villager to it, rendering the second wish completely useless on subsequent playthroughs once you realise you can stave off having a family with unique NPCs like Alex or Lady Grey and that you can save your dog too. 😂 And since building wealth isn’t THAT hard, not as easy as the joke of a system that was Fable 3’s economy but still, you can also get to 1 million on your own if you use the system right. So there’s also no reason to choose that option unless you’re a deliberately evil character. Maybe if it was ten million instead of one, there’d be more of a reason to be tempted by it but as it stands, not so much. So the only wish worth choosing is the first one to save everyone who died which, ironically, while intended to be selfless might be the most selfish one of all as you only end up doing it to earn the love of Albion’s people as you have nothing to gain choosing the other wishes with the way the world is set up. 😂
Well.. The "Family" wish also has the extra cool benefit of resurrecting your sister.. Although you only get a note from her and never actually see her, which is a real shame. Would have been cooler if she came to live with you and your family if you had the space or something. Maybe she could show up in the castle once you purchased it, and you could talk to her and give her a room if you wanted to... That would have been cool..
It’s weird that rose doesn’t come back from the first wish. She technically died in the path of the making of the spire. But goodness definitely lost potential with her🤦🏼♀️
Lady Grey is already so buggy I don't want to risk anything with her. I don't care about the people at the Spire I will never see. My sister matters more, and that's basically the same considering you never see her either. Plus one million coin is nothing once you own everything. So I always choose love. And screw yourself, Hammer, for judging me.
The snow globe is oakvale btw. You're freeing the souls of those trapped by shadows when Reaver sold the town for eternal youth. Reaver is from oakvale btw. I know our player character is a descendant of the one from the first game, but I don't know about the other heroes in the game. Also, fable 2: game of the year edition came with all the dlc already installed. Hell, I had it on disc and didn't even know it was dlc.
That’s a stretch. It’s never stated anywhere that the town is supposed to be Oakvale, and there’s no reason to suppose it is. It looks like Oakvale because the devs were lazy and just reused the assets of the town rather than building a whole new one just for this side quest lol.
@@michaelhodges8590 Yeah, cos they used the same assets, but there’s no hint that this is supposed to be the consequence of Reaver as why place them in a DLC when Reaver’s story is in the main quest? Like most players, I always played this as soon as I arrived in Bowerstone loooong before we even met Reaver, so what would be the point of letting the player release his victims before even meeting Reaver or the shadow court? It doesn’t make any sense. The quest doesn’t even make it ambiguous, they show who is responsible for this - the cultists from the temple of shadows. They’re the ones holding these souls hostage and it’s killing them that releases the people from their torment - and even then, I think that’s more laziness as I don’t think they’re meant to be associated with the Temple, just generic cultists they couldn’t be bothered doing new assets for. And even if we leave all that aside, the Shadow Court doesn’t trap souls, they just kill them. There’s no indication they want to perform the big succ to get their colour, that’s an entirely separate thing to what the cultists are doing. If this was Oakvale, you’d have references to Reaver or the Shadow Court from the villagers to make it clear that’s who they were. But as it is, I don’t think dev laziness and huge amounts of conjecture is enough to presuppose that’s what’s meant to be going on when these were clearly meant to be two separate plot lines with no crossover between them.
@@Longshanks1690 "they used the same assets" And the devs arranged those assets in an identical manner as Oakvale. It's clearly Oakvale, anything else is a stretch.
There is so much you did not mention about Knothole Island. You can revive your dog, you can get new kinds of dyes and potions, new armor and weapons (one Halo like gun). I think they beat Fable 3 DLC's.
True but if I may be constructive, not a big fan of how easily some weapons trump all other options, like you get hal’s rifle then you get something like that guitar which does almost 100 dmg per swing man. That shit terrifyingly busted and makes me feel like im in fable 1 again.
This is gonna sound so weird but my favorite part of See the Future specifically was all the hidden easter eggs. There's a whole puzzle to solve that's hinted at in a book in the snowglobe and requires exploring both the snowglobe and the skull and while the reward isn't anything special its still just a really cool journey to follow. Also there's like 9 or 10 hidden dyes between the areas, and the hidden teddy bears in the colosseum. Anyway yeah, the quests are mediocre but I'm really nostalgic for the collectibles and easter eggs
I think the best part of the dlc of Fable 2 is not the story but the extras. Changing the mutt to a husky, clothes that change with alignment, the potions to alter you appearance better
Neat fact about the snow globe, once the dlc is completed you can use the snow globe for "instant" travel. Takes no in-game time to enter the snow globe and no in-game time to fast travel across the map.
I'm a big fan of both Fable and Halo, so having access to the pre order bonus of Master Cheif's armour and then completing the look with his assault rifle that you can obtain from the Knothole Island shop makes it worth it for me. Plus, unlike the sword, the assault rifle is actually a reasonably powerful weapon. It's also nice that they're fantasy themed too, so they don't just look silly and out of place... Well, not as silly or out of place as it could have if it's not your thing. So yeah, the items within the DLC are the best things about them. So i can in the very least appreciate that they didn't just try to sell us a weapon pack that just spontaniously appears in the world. They added a narrative to you recieving the items. Looking at it like that definately makes me appreciate them more.
That's the thing about the knothole island quest for me was I already had it installed with the copy I had so my first experience with that quest was definitely side by side
My favorite part of Knothole Island was just the consumable that let you shrink yourself. There was nothing quite so funny as running around looking half the height of the people I fought.
I've still yet to test it out until I have enough stock of all the potions. I thought the "child" mentioned in the shrink potions' description was an exaggeration. Since I took height potions and they did nothing at all, I guess I was already max height. So I had my doubts a shrinking potion would go beyond bringing you to base height.

As I said last time, what Fable 2 has over 3 is the unique items in its DLC. I mostly used the weapons and armour from Knothole Island whenever I find them as they’re some of the coolest bits in the game, especially from Jessica’s Shop. The same goes for the Husky potion to make your dog an even gooder boi. It all enhances the base gameplay and makes these packs worth playing. The stories attached? Less so. Murgo’s cursed relic quests especially are a boring chore to slog through, the areas aren’t that well designed - often using the same assets from the base game - the tasks are repetitive and there’s nothing that makes you want to return to those worlds after the quests are done. The same is true of Knothole Island where the quest areas are more unique in their design, but the same feeling of going through a slog to get the weather tokens remains weighing heavily on your mind. You’ll likely never venture outside the town on Knothole Island once you’ve unlocked all four weathers, but the ability to change the weather at will is a very cool idea ngl. Likewise, See The Future is made worth it with the final prophecy from Theresa foreshadowing Fable 3, and giving you the King outfit. So are the DLCs worth it? Overall, I’d say yes, the items and some of the bits of worldbuilding you get from them are worth playing through to get. But is a lot of it still half assed and could have been done much better to make it a better experience overall? Also a thousand times yes.

I had the GOTY version of Fable 2, which had both DLCs included on disc. Having things spaced out during the main story as additional side quests is a much better way to experience this stuff.
I have never even heard of "Fable" until 2 days ago, when I accidently listened to it while falling asleep. Now I keep watching Fable videos for no reason lol. Anyways great video
What i liked about fable 1/2 and their respective dlc was that the legendary weapons were actually legendary and had a unique look to them. The idea of weapons evolving based on how we play sounds cool for fable 3 but when all the legendary weapons are randomized and you can only get a finite number of them in a single playthrough and you can't farm them that sucks the fun out of earning or trying to get legendaries. When you finally do get avo's lamentation or some other cool weapon and it looks identical to your previous weapons with no unique design or effect it pales in comparision to previous titles. Its even worse when you look at how large amounts of weapons in fable 1 and 2 are tied to unique quests or puzzles like red dragon and the shooting range, katana for garths tower or Skorms bow and the temple of shadows. All fable 3 had was the gargoyles and you just got a generic gun from what i remember. Small things like this make games so much more enjoyable and immerse us in the world, it would be like if fallout didn't have unique weapons that had a cool look and effect that was tied to the lore of the weapon. Instead they were replaced with generic weapons that could drop with effects instead or a fromsoft game that didn't have the moonlight greatsword or unique weapons in general.
"how funny it would be if darth vader was chris prat" dude you gotta hear the undubbed voice for darth vader... xD its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay funnier than what you suggested
My only real criticism is the will powers should have all been red in Oakvale, to match the colouration of strength and skill. It honestly really bothers me, even. Will is red, the shadows are red, make the abilities red oh my god. Oh yeah, and those shadows are huge bullet sponges even when using the correct attacks. The red shadows nearly knocked me out a few times, whereas the rest of the game is easy as piss.
There actually is a visible existing indication that you should use Will on the red shadows. The three Heroic attributes (Strength, Skill, and Will) are all associated with a specific color. This color is the color of the individualized EXP for each attribute. Blue EXP for Strength, Yellow EXP for Skill, and Red EXP for Will. There's also the fact that the B button aka your Will button on the Xbox controller is red.
See, the first time I ever played the game was the GOTY edition, so I've never played the game without this DLC. I just can't imagine playing the game without my aviators.
I specifically bought the Platinum Hits version of the game when I was looking for a new copy. I don't know what happened to my original copy, it was so long ago I forgot. Anyway, the Platinum Hits version comes with all of the DLC (to my knowledge) included on-disc. So it's a good option for anyone who doesn't want to deal with downloadable content in this age when they can avoid it and future-proof their game a bit. The DLC overall is fine. Nothing spectacular in terms of content, though Knothole Island is neat to explore since you can change its environment at whim once you've completed it. Mostly you want the DLC for the benefits that Knothole Island's DLC brings you, which is the potions and augments that the game adds. The potions will let you max out your skill while being shorter, let you get fatter or thinner, etc. It comes with a stupid corruption drawback, but you can reverse that easily enough by eating foods that increase purity or lowering rent if you don't want to be a corrupt hero/villain. There's also an augment shop that sometimes has access to the "Devastation" augment, or so I hear, which is supposedly the equivalent of giving your character max physique. So if you wanted to, you could drain all physique so your character doesn't look like a hulking monster (if you're playing a female, you might prefer this greatly) and then just use a master weapon or something with the Devastation augment and still deal a tremendous amount of damage with melee weapons. There's also the Discipline augment which does the same thing for skill, but as you can lower your height with potions, you might as well just max out whatever skill stat makes you taller and then use the potions to get your preferred height. Oh and you can get your dog back at the end of the Knothole Island DLC (since the DLC packs come with some new potions you can give to change your dog's breed which are really cool), so if you didn't have a family and you don't care about Rose sending you a letter, you can skip the "resurrect your loved ones" wish option at the end and get some gold or good karma and then just do the DLC to get your dog back.
The one thing fable 2 really missed was actually Boss fights Like the Scorpion, kraken, Dragon. I was so disapointed when the Game was over and the biggest enemy was a Troll which was a random enemy in fable 1.
As a fable fan from like the age of 4, I never knew there was dlc for any fable and am kinda glad I never, they all look bad, entertaining but bad. Sorry for any fable dlc lovers out there
They feel better if you play them along with the story on a new save. It sprinkles parts of them throughout the game, it gives good pacing and makes them feel more like part of the game
the reason murgo sells all of his items for 5 gold each is because, though they are unassuming objects, actually every one is a powerful cursed items, that can only be used by a hero. And Murgo himself is cursed to keep peddling at the behest of none other than yours truly: Theresa

Fable Anniversary will always be my favorite. Fable 2 is second. 3 to me isn't even considered canon, much less, Fable: The Journey. It is a duology of great games. Just like the Hero bloodline of William Black in lore got progressively weaker, so did the games. With that said, however, I am excited about Fable (Playground Games) in 2024 or 2025. I hope it is more akin to Fable Anniversary. Bring back the spells, high fantasy feel, fairytale book aesthetic, tudor houses and businesses, armor, stats, and enemies like the bandits, Hobbes, Balverines, Nymphs, Heroes, and Jack of Blades. Or better, the entire Court itself.
I'm lol rn at my kid brain back when fable 2 DLC came out. I had already bought it but never figured out how to activate it. I was max level and just thought the merchant was already in the game not realizing that wes DLC. Skip all his dialog and then looked at his shop and moved on to never play again. As i had already done everything possible in the game or so I thought at the time. I actually didn't know the game had a DLC until just now.
Can't remember if they are required to complete the snow globe or if it's just for extra loot. But there is a blue and a yellow seal in the snow globe as well
Look up "Hal's outfit" and weapons after, you missed some top notch crossover material (Edit: this apparently comes not in a DLC but in the special edition of the game, sad but true. The best [looking] armor and weapons in the game locked behind a limited time sale)
While I understand your criticism for knothole island. I quite enjoyed it, but I do feel my issues are partly nitpicks. Like how the island doesn’t have a more neutral state with weather changes until you get called back to the island. Like bringing the sun would make it look like a summer island until you get called back and oh noes, drought. That and 10k when you are probably richer then the chieftan literally sucks ass.
I actually liked all the Fable games. It never really made sense that you say the combat doesn’t matter in 3. You never really die in two either. You just get back up with a scar on yourself. You can actually die in Fable 1 but I never had an issue with dying in Fable 2
The DLCs aren't that great because these games came out before people spent money on DLCs to get the rest of the game they should have gotten on release. When these games were released you had a full game experience on release, and DLCs were just extras and addons. That's why "quality" isn't there, because it legitimately doesn't matter.

1:58 there is a crane where Murgo is situated...
6:00 I love how utterly unconcerned the dog is about all this.
Nice, more Fable content.
I need just one more dye pack man, please you can't cut me off like this.
you've had enough.....
@@judgedrekk2981 I really need a #6D4C17 and #6D4C16 dye, it's really important.
excuse me? fable the lost chapters is the definitive fable experience and anyone who says otherwise is on HEROIN
I had the GOTY version of Fable 2, which had both DLCs included on disc. Having things spaced out during the main story as additional side quests is a much better way to experience this stuff.
The lore for hobs are a massive rabbit hole on its own 😂
Be warned the tale of maxely
“Words cannot explain how much real estate value that joke has gained”
Hehe, nice👌
Fuck, the submarine joke got me good
Maybe compare the experiences of a “good” vs “evil” play through? Really liking the Fable content!
"how funny it would be if darth vader was chris prat"
dude you gotta hear the undubbed voice for darth vader... xD its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay funnier than what you suggested
Man I have been addicted to your channel. Keep up the awesome work. You deserve much more views and recognition.
I think I played both of those expansions with the main game, and I don't think I realized they were DLC's when I was playing them.
I'm still pissed off that in fable 3 they made BLACK dye a dlc.
Now all he has left is the superior game of all three
"Somehow they drained the town of colour" oh... so like normal Britain then? Yakno since this is very British inspires.
Love how fable 2s menu looks like the old xbox 360 dashboard
See, the first time I ever played the game was the GOTY edition, so I've never played the game without this DLC. I just can't imagine playing the game without my aviators.
The Dye Pack really got you 😂
I specifically bought the Platinum Hits version of the game when I was looking for a new copy.
Ah yes, my favorite Fable character, Teh Reezer
The one thing fable 2 really missed was actually Boss fights Like the Scorpion, kraken, Dragon.
I was so disapointed when the Game was over and the biggest enemy was a Troll which was a random enemy in fable 1.
As a fable fan from like the age of 4, I never knew there was dlc for any fable and am kinda glad I never, they all look bad, entertaining but bad. Sorry for any fable dlc lovers out there
They feel better if you play them along with the story on a new save. It sprinkles parts of them throughout the game, it gives good pacing and makes them feel more like part of the game
I thought this was Joshstrifehayes at first, new channel that's right up my alley woo!
the reason murgo sells all of his items for 5 gold each is because, though they are unassuming objects, actually every one is a powerful cursed items, that can only be used by a hero. And Murgo himself is cursed to keep peddling at the behest of none other than yours truly: Theresa
I remember hearing, That Microsoft Execs thought that GHOSTS looking like GHOSTS was too graphic for kids, so at the last minute they were made blue. These Execs of course never brought this up again. You'll see many censored things compared ot the first one.
You completely missed the best Easter egg in all of Fable 2 contained within that snowglobe / gold skull missions. I highly encourage you to go back and hunt for it.
you missed a bit with the see the future quest, you can buy the castle in fable 2 and it has a bunch of separate quests specific to it
part of the reason fable 2 is my favorite, is bc the DLC was so solid
But especially Jack
Id happily play the co ops with you i absolutely love fable
The thing I thought was odd about the dlc was the rabbit stories…there were so weird
I didn't even know these were dlcs 😅 I got them all with the copy I bought second hand 👌🏻
Legendary underwater boat joke...
the town in the snow globe is Oakvale the town from the original game I'm pretty sure
I’ll just be here in the corner holding my dye packs don’t mind me….I actually bought them, not individually I think I got everything in one deal
Can't remember if they are required to complete the snow globe or if it's just for extra loot. But there is a blue and a yellow seal in the snow globe as well
Potentially some extra loot to be had. It's been years since I've played so I'm not sure
I feel sorry for the 17% that picked fable 3 as there favourite, clearly having to use the sanctuary as the main menu has drained them of there sanity
Not gonna talk about the 4% who chose Fable: The Journey?
@@Fizhy that not just the I'm quirky and funny option tho ?
That pole added up to 101% so I can only assume Chuck Norris voted on this one.
He did not get the snow globe quest at all it tells the story of origenal vilage from Fable one and what happend before 1 and 2
No way was the voice of the knight " RACHAEL ADADADECHE!"
Loved the video!
Fable 1 was the best Fable game, fight me.
A maifa 😂 Yeah dude we tight in bubbles with eachother.
Darth Vader has big Seth Rogan energy. Though Chris Pratt would be fitting for R2D2
I want the hobs outfit irl need a cosplay
Look up "Hal's outfit" and weapons after, you missed some top notch crossover material (Edit: this apparently comes not in a DLC but in the special edition of the game, sad but true. The best [looking] armor and weapons in the game locked behind a limited time sale)
Oh man, this video has everything. Furries, KnotTheHole Island, and more! Amazing!
8:55 I wonder why he said his lines like that lmao
You missed quite a bit in see the future since you can buy castle fairfax and get a quest
Let's bot forget there's also a way to bring back your dog if you choose not to bring it back
He built his kart there
beat the arena in the crown to get the scepter weapon
While I understand your criticism for knothole island. I quite enjoyed it, but I do feel my issues are partly nitpicks. Like how the island doesn’t have a more neutral state with weather changes until you get called back to the island. Like bringing the sun would make it look like a summer island until you get called back and oh noes, drought. That and 10k when you are probably richer then the chieftan literally sucks ass.
One thing I hated about the Fable II dlc is the chicken suit
Dang. I have all the dlc I'd have coop'd
Doesn't the fable 2 DLC give you a free dog res?
Dlc is worth it just for the doggie life alone
I actually liked all the Fable games. It never really made sense that you say the combat doesn’t matter in 3. You never really die in two either. You just get back up with a scar on yourself. You can actually die in Fable 1 but I never had an issue with dying in Fable 2
How are you playing fable 3 with dlc?
I remember people receiving the game better.
is that Oakvale 😱?
I always wondered why you never hug our kids in Fable 2 like you do in Fable 3?
Chriss pratt fought dark vader and its on youtube
The DLCs aren't that great because these games came out before people spent money on DLCs to get the rest of the game they should have gotten on release. When these games were released you had a full game experience on release, and DLCs were just extras and addons. That's why "quality" isn't there, because it legitimately doesn't matter.
Nuthole Island. Yum
13:25 can anyone tell me how to get this outfit, or its name so i can look it up? :D
