    I was so frustrated with that error code. I went through several UA-cam videos and recalibration steps before I found your video. Your tutorial was excellent! The issue has been resolved and I'm flying again. Thank you very much Dray, you da man!!

    The key point that helped me was when you mentioned that going to the file location and executing it from there. That was what I needed to do. Thank you so much for that valuable information. I spent hours before that failing to get rid of the 180 error code.

    Ditto with the other comments as well. Yup, received the error 180 Code yesterday when attempting to connect the 2 Pro to the smart controller. My first "go to" in trouble shooting any type of problem I'm having with DJI Drones is UA-cam. If I'm experiencing an issue with any DJI Drone, more than likely someone else is having the same problem too. Your channel came up, followed your step by step procedures and success, error 180 Code gone, got the 2 Pro airborne. Thank you for taking the time, putting this video out to help us fellow (fella) DJI pilots. Now to focus on our US Senators to exclude the DJI Ban out of the NDAA which will be voted on by the Senate towards the end of this calendar year!

    Thank you for taking your time to outline these steps. I spoke to 3 DJI support staff who could not successfully help me through this process. I was told, that if what they instructed me to do didn't work, I would have to send it in. Meanwhile, none of them told me to do this process, THANK YOU AGAIN!

    Excellent video. I hadn't used my drone in over a year. I just pulled it out and updated everything. Then got the 180 error. Other solutions on the internet did not help. Your video was spot on. Thanks much!!

    Dray, thank you very, very much. For the amateur like me, this was a vexing problem that I had wasted hours on until I found your video. I'm confident I wouldn't have figured this out on my own.       Same fix for tablet & phones, you need to update the Go4 app to 4.3.60@@Chris-fj9ir

    You gave my day a 180! Thanks. I was not feeling optimistic when that 180 error popped up. Could not fly/work.

    Super helpful, thank you. After updating my Mavic 2 Pro firmware I got the 180 error on my smart controller but only outside when GPS satellites were visible. Indoor testing everything worked ok. A good reminder to perform updates only when there is time to do a full flight test and possible troubleshooting.

    You have made my day a lot better. I am able to fly again, broadcasting RID which showed up in Drone Scanner app.

    Great job getting the info out Dray, I didn't have any problems but it's good to know we got someone with the answers should a problem arise. I did notice they added numbers before the old SN and a digit at the end as well, so it was the old number with 1581F in front of the old and an extra digit at the end.

      hmmm, both of mine still have the 163 number at the start, or did you add the 1581F in front of that number?

      The RID number is under the SN number and that's what the FAA wanted. You'll see it , if not call dji support

      I have the normal controller, not smart, and use iPad app. Got my M2Pro updated via Assistant2 yesterday and my About page and all versions are exactly the same but my serial number has not changed -- no RID anything showing -- and no errors anywhere and flies fine. No WLAN/Wifi showing RID either. Any other way to tell or show I AM compliant??

    Thanks for the video. I have a job tomorrow and powered up my drones today to prep them and had to update the firmware. Afterward it gave me the 180 error code. This was the first video I watched and I didn't have to watch anything else. Thanks for the help it absolutely saved my job tomorrow!

Read through a ton of blogs and support articles on the DJI sites, nothing worked. I found your video and BAM! That was it! Thank you!!

    Thank you Dre. This video was excellent and really helped to get my drone back up and flying. I had no idea I wasn't operating with the most up to date software and that it was the cause of this error that wouldn't allow the drone to fly. Keep up the great, helpful work!

    Of all the glitches and issues that have popped up in the past I always managed to reach a solution (sometimes on dumb luck). The "180 error" code? Could not fix it. The DJI site was no help. This video got me through to the correct fix and a launch without any errors in under 5mins. Sincerest gratitude from Detroit City. TREMENDOUS thanks, sir.

    Man, I will do this as soon as I charge my controller a little bit more.. !!! I found your video in less than 10 seconds by searching the "DJI Unknown error 180" and POP! there you were! cudos on solving the problem for so many of us and making your video easily discoverable on youtube! so many times I enter a search phrase or word and get totally unrelated garbage! thanks again!

    This worked for me, thank you but one thing that should be mentioned is that my old DJI 4 file on my smart remote was corrupt and so I needed to delete that file first before download the new DJI 4 file. After this it worked perfectly once again. Thanks again Dray.

    What a freaking pain, I hate installing updates and haven't for about 4 years. But today on a dust off after a couple of set backs in life. I brought my baby out again after about a month and noticed again that my sat/hybird maps didn't display. After googling that, found out DJI disabled support for older firmware...so I bit the bullet, and it bit back! Thanks to your video I was finally able to get pass the error 180 and fly again..
    I had one issue on the beginning when I scrolled down to the first support my screen would not select any function. I waited about 15 minutes (Cussing) and rebooted and tried again, it then worked and I went through the steps to get the APK installed. rebooted SC. And did a prop start, to message that it didn't know my location. I checked and my location services was indeed on. So went out to get GPS acquired on both aircraft the SC remote....that worked. So Thanks again and yes my maps all work again! One correction to your verbiage @3:53. Once the APK is downloaded (Wifi) to Smart Controller, the install of same has nothing to do with your WiFi speed. That is internal to the Smart Controller. So again thank you, I was flying this morning, updated to get my map, and bricked..your video saved my arse! 😉 Oh and it said that it wouldn't change any settings but lost all of mine for flight and cameras so will have to go through a battery or two to get everything back the way it was...note to all who may read this. 🙂 looks like the Ole' assistant 2 for mavic needs some work!

    Thanks Draymond...The firmware update 01.00.0797 on Mavic 2 Pro aircraft was completed but lift off with SC did not work error code 180...after walking thru your tutorial which was easy to follow and downloaded DJIGO4 as mentioned...the lift off was successful. Much appreciated!!!

    I didn't see the remote ID number in the about section in your video, is that where it is supposed to be? Thanks!

      You will need to make sure you have both the RC & drone on, wifi connected, then the RID number will show in the about section.

      @@RecoveryoneDrone I have both on, controller connected to WiFi but no remote ID number. Strange. The FAA drone zone site took the remote ID number Input in. I'll call DJI tomorrow. Thanks!
