    Hi...is the procedure different if I use the Smart Controller?

      Hello, I am not sure since I have never used the Smart Controller. I think the two keys are to either make sure you are logged into the DJI GO 4 app or use the DJI Assistant 2 app to link directly to the drone with a USB cable to update the aircraft firmware. I would love for you to comment back to let me know what worked for you, so we can help other drone pilots facing the same issue! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

    I tried, but the issue is still appearing. I can't see the Remote ID serial number. By the way, the aircraft already says version 01.00.0797, and the Remote controller says version 01.00.0770. :( TIA for your help.

      Hello, thank you for watching our video, subscribing and commenting!
      Sorry to hear you are still having issues with your Remote ID number not showing.
      If you followed all the steps in the video, to include making sure the DJI GO 4 app is updated to the correct version, then I would double check to make sure you are looking in the correct area (scroll down to "Remote ID SN" under the "About" section). If this still does not resolve your issue, I would recommend that you turn the app, remote, drone, etc. on *outside* and wait about one minute to make sure it connects with several GPS satellites and check the two areas listed in the video (that Remote ID functionality is normal under the "aircraft status" and then "overall status" and that you are looking at the Remote ID number in the about section).

      @@ryangie You may have figured this out by now but your Remote ID is just your Flight Controller Serial number with "1581F" added to the front of it, and a zero added to the end

      @@scottshackleford4390 Yes, that is very true and was mentioned in the video. I think @roltopo had everything updated (app and aircraft) correctly, but still could not see her Remote ID number. Researching back in March of 2024 (when RID compliance was still very new), it was recommended that she turn on the remote and drone outside to connect to satellites, wait one minute and check for the RID, starting with "1581F" as you mentioned. This has always worked for me since March of 2024 to present. Thanks again for your feedback and for helping our fellow co-pilots! Safe flying!!

    So the DJI assistant 2 says, "Mavic.DJI Assistant 2 is not currently compatible with macOS version 11 or later. This issue will be resolved in a future update." But it has said this for months...

      And then while I'm chatting with DJI help, giving them my info, my Remote ID just shows up in the about section for my drone. Turns out its just your Flight Controller Serial number with "1581F" added to the front of it, and a zero added to the end

      Thank you for taking the time to watch our video and for leaving a comment! Sorry you are having trouble with the DJI software on your macOS!
      When I did a quick check, it looks like that compatibility issue is with the "DJI Assistant 2 For Mavic(Updates discontinued)" software, which was last updated in 2020 and feedback from other pilots does provide the same issues you mentioned.
      As you can tell from our video, we were able to successfully use the "DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drone Series)" software on our macOS to update the drone without any errors or issues. Here is a link to that software, hopefully you can download it and give it a try:

      @@scottshackleford4390 We are glad you had the opportunity to chat with DJI, hopefully they were able to provide you with answers to your software and Remote ID issues!
      It looks like you were successful since your Remote ID now shows in the About section on your remote!
      Yes, the "1581F" and "0" are correct for Remote ID compared to your old serial number (mentioned around 2:05 of this video). This video was created in March of 2024, just as Remote ID discretionary enforcement policy had ended with the FAA, so myself and several other pilots were running into various issues at that early stage to become compliant with the FAA and Remote ID. Luckily, this video has helped thousands of pilots such as yourself and we appreciate you taking the time to watch our video! We hope you have fun, safe and compliant flights going forward!!
