  • In this video I restore a Lincoln grease gun (Model 1142 Series D). First I start off with disassembly. Super Clean sent me some products to try out, which did a wonderful job and cleaning the grimy grease! I obtained a new dust collector to help video quality when sandblasting. Personally I think the sandblasting footage turned out wonderful. Then came the powder coating in RAL 5017 traffic blue. The end caps were finished with a cold blueing technique to help preserve and prevent rust. I hope you guys enjoy, if you do leave a like and a comment. Subscribe if you would like to see more awesome content ;).
    Thanks again to the Super Clean team for sending me some product!

    As soon as you put in that first screw I was yelling "you forgot the spring and ball bearing!!!". This was well done. A beautiful piece. Great work.

    Recognized this right away its a # 1142 Lincoln sold dozens and dozens of these in my Parts Stores , it was the preffered brand of the professional mechanics.

    Those use to be used by mechanics working out of a garage. They were refilled through the grease nipple from a tank that would pump it under pressure.

    As an excavator operator I fully understand the grease gun going rusty problem. When left unused in a tool box full of water 😂🤣!!

    Camera work is pretty good, there were a few autofocus hiccups. The one thing I noticed was the water coming out of your sandblaster, not good for a part that just had its surface exposed. An inline water separator/filter/trap (names for it vary) might be a good investment, they're not super expensive and will extend the life of your tools

    • @DrRestoration
      @DrRestoration  2 роки тому

      I have a small inline water filter, will look into a better one. 🙂

      @@DrRestoration they make a type that mounts to the wall and has a spring loaded valve at the bottom of the bell so you can release the collected liquid as needed, very cool device
