Just wanted to quickly thank you for your advice on my Suzuki King Quad 300. You were 100% the issue was in fact the Voltage regulator! Now she purrs like a Kitten. Many thanks !! very much e4njoy the content and tech . Regards Adrian
Cool man. I've been wondering about these carbs myself. You're one of the only guys out there doing King Quad vids, so its great. I've used your vids a couple times to fix mine. Mine is a 91 250 LT4WD, but they're almost identical. Thanks for the good informative King Quad videos!
Schneids15 PLEASE READ!!!!! I recently purchased one of these for myself. I found out that the 2 "vacuum ports" on the back of the carb are dummy ports. They do not work at all. HOWEVER, i discovered the single long silver one in the front does have a strong vacuum. I ran a vacuum line from it with a splitter to connect both fuel petcock, and fuel pump from that single port and it works excellent! Yes it surprised me too being a Chinese carb but it works great. Mine ran just like yours before I did that. I'd love to see you make a video on that for others!! Excellent channel by the way.
I bought one of those Chinese carbs for my king quad, it looked great until installed. KQ wouldn’t idle, hard to start and constantly flooded. Carb had one less vac tubes, choke and throttle tube wouldn’t fit in the hole. Floats were useless, gas would just pour out the bottom every time I tried cranking the bike. Only good thing was that I was able to use all those new shiny screws to replace my stripped ones.
My made in China kung fu carburetor didn't work so hot at first. Hard starting and had get up and go issues out of the hole. I don't get it. Now.... A week later (no adjustments) It's purring like a kitten. Runs perfect! CRAZY😮
I just put one of these on my kingquad fires right up and idles great. When I give it throttle it Boggs down and wants to shut off. Any ideas or advice on what it could be?
I’d like to think I know my way around a carb until I met a Mikuni. I mean, they are so straight forward that it seems as though anyone could work on them, but I have always run into issues. Helluva job explaining how to get these things running! I’ve gotta go address my surging at 3/4 throttle (no vacuum leaks) and try to find a Mikuni kit for mine. Any suggestions you can toss my way on repair manuals and Mikuni parts distributors would be greatly appreciated. Keep on making these vids! Thanks again!
I’ve watched all your videos for the king quad but there’s many lines going to and from but I bought a 1995 king quad where everything was took apart. Because the carb was bad. Anyhow I’ve purchased the manual 721 pages. Yet it doesn’t show a-z . I purchased what was supposed to Suzuki carb. Yet it’s different. I wasn’t around when he disassembled the 4-wheeler.,. I just need help to run the lines properly. Plus the other lines as this quad can be in water up to the seat.
I wouldn't bother. Spend the $25cad on a carb kit and rebuild the Mikuni! I also sealed the loose rivet on the top of the carb as it can cause issues if it leaks.
the Chinese one for mine is still 258 from what I can see. I have a 99 quad runner 500 and man are parts for this thing next to impossible to find. Still can't track down a front differential for it
@@Schneids15 Yes a Japanese built Suzuki is one complex machine, that is the only thing I hated about them, complex. Now they are built in the USA and are solid axles, IRS gone, and much much larger frame...and no more 250's... it's either the 90 or one of the twenty variations of "King Quad" yawn.
I have a 1987 and a 1989 LT-4WD. These use the more traditional Mikuni slide carbs. What are your thoughts on the Chinese versions of those carbs? Are the 1990+ carbs like this compatible for the 1987-1989? Any advantage to them?
I am very interested to see how you get on with this carb - I bought my King Quad 300 earlier this year and have taken the carb apart so many times now as it runs way too rich. The fuel mix adjustment is a pig to get to when on the machine. I have actually just ordered a refurb kit for it so I hope that might solve my problem because whatever I do there is just too much fuel getting onto the plug and its hard as hell to start and keep running.
I almost guarantee your problem is gas coming from the fuel petcock diaphragm. It breaks and gas goes through the vacuum line and floods the carb. Trace the vacuum line from the carb to the petcock. If you pull it off the petcock and gas is present that is your issue.
@@Schneids15 Changed the petcock today - not an exact replacement although it said it was - fuel line in different position so had to put in a new fuel line from the pump as the original was too short, but otherwise OK - bit of a faff as the cooling fan was obstructing the screws so got that out and managed to get to them. Running much better - not 100% yet but I have the carb refurb kit coming so can't do more until then. Had the fuel mix screw out to 2 1/2 turns. Starts much easier and no backfiring but it is idling too fast and the idle adjust is not doing anything but it could be the throttle cable catching - not worried too much until after the refurb kit has been fitter. Thanks again!
Just tried to install mine, the factory choke doesnt fit the chinese carb. Not sure what I will do yet. Contemplating drilling the brass insert a bit to take the stock non threaded choke cable. Might just have to search around for a threaded choke cable, what did you do?
Hi! I did put some 2stroke mixed gas in my quadrunner by mistake. Now i do not have any idle at all or its really high if i turn the idle screw up. The previous owner put a mikuni carb on it from some snowmobile but it has ran fine until now. Could the mixed gas make it act like that? I did clean the carb really good. it had some weird screen around the inside of the carb on the engine side. Not the air box side.
Yes the screen is normal. If it is running rough i am betting the 2 cycle fuel could have fouled your spark plug a little bit. Maybe try a new spark plug first. Otherwise 2 cycle oil will not hurt anything
Just junked a new chinese Suzuki clone. Mine was utter crap. Read the same on forums. There are a few that seem to work, but sounds like a few just dont. Put on a ebay Keihin PWK38 (china) carb and it runs good.

Just installed a new made in china carb on my King Quad 300 from Amazon. Works great.
Just found your channel after snapping my rear axel in the middle of a swamp! Great content! Thank you for doing all of this!

Can you do a video on how to adjust the A/F on the OEM carb

I don't get it.

Very odd!

That 2 5/8 setting is super critical. No room for error and don't forget that little spacer cushion/washer at the bottom

Could you help explain a few things on this 1997 suzuki king quad 300 carburetor lines?

Wow. No experience with those. One thing that is nice is the late 80s to early 200s most parts are even compatible.

Just had a look on Amazon UK for the carb in your link - doesn't look like they sell it on the UK site.

You ever do any transmission job
Where would you source a new carb from? mine needs to be replaced. It has a ripped diaphragm and a broken float bracket
I would source a used one from classifieds.
Best carb for the king quad 300 the best money can buy?
Get a genuine Mikuni.
I need your help on a 1995 king quad 300
It will work... for a little while. Better off rebuilding the old one if possible.
