Great video, I have the same issues with my Chinese Amazon carb, unfortunately can't return it because like you I modified it drilling out the throttle and the choke. I wound up just plugging the drain pot on the bottom and used pipe tread tape on the screw so that fixed my fuel leak issue. It runs great for a while sometimes 30 minutes or so and then stalls for no reason, sometimes idling it quits or sometimes running with throttle. No rhyme or reason to it. Unusually fires right back up. Mikunis are simple and a rebuild kit is less than the cost the knockoff carb so I will be fixing up my old one. I wish I came across your video before I tried and saved myself a few bucks.
Have 1997 Suzuki 250 quadrunner, got the Chinese Amazon carb, and rcvd ok, all brass jets, fittings etc.. and float not plastic, well made overall, first thing did was gravity fuel test off the ATV for fuel leaks ( non found), installed with temp bailing wire choke / throttle cables, started up, etc... that said, I didn't end up using it, due to the # of modifications that it would take to use my non threaded choke and throttle cables, new carb only had one vacuum port, old Mikuni had two, boots ( in / out ) almost perfect fit, but not exactly.. etc.. After lots of looking I concluded like the gentlemen below says, Junk Yard finds for old carbs best bet, didn't find anything on the net that matched old Mikuni Suzuki Quadrunner carb, Thus rebuild it if you can.... not hard and Schneids 15 has great video on how to do it...
So i tried a carb swap, you have to use every jet from the original to put into the crap carb to get it to run and even then its not perfect, but rideable. Play with air mix screw and float height. Honestly i think the vacuum fuel system is pickey and aftermarket generic carbs are super hard to tune for these quads. I went back to rebuild the mikuni.
I've run Suzuki and kawi style carbs for a while now and I can say the china carbs are great no problems at all. My only complaint with the Chinese carb is the diaphragm seems to be very hard in the cold causing it to run very poorly off choke until it warms up the carb a bit.
The fuel leak seen here is probably the built in over flow not the drain screw , most likely due to the float adjustment . If you must use one of these be prepared to match up the jets to your original and make proper settings . Out of the box perfection would be wishful thinking at best.
It is the overflow. Restrict the vacuum to the fuel pump to slow it down. I used the smaller orifice from the old carb online to correct. Eventually gave up on the Chinese carb and installed a good used one from another bike.
Great video! I had to drill out the same hole. Mine bogg’s just like yours did. When you get moving and keep on the gas, it runs great. Low end wise, not so much. I’m thinking about just putting the old carb back together with some of the new parts from the newer one..
I found that the size of the vacuum connection on the chinese carb caused the flooding. To remedy, remove the nylon connection from the old carb and place it in the line. I used a smaller hose to reconnect and the flooding stopped.
jeffer1957 I ended up completely rebuilding the old carb, but that’s good To Know! I never had any flooding issues but I couldn’t get it to pump any fuel at all

I had an extra vacuum line on the top of the old carb. The new carb did not have a connection coming off the top of the carb. I plugged it with a bolt. My new carb idles and runs at 1/2 throttle. It bogs down hard at 3/4 to full throttle. I installed a fuel filter and noticed that it doesn't completely fill. It nearly drains completely on full throttle. I cleaned the fuel pump and petcock. Not sure what is going on.

@@Schneids15 Yea I am thinking Mikuni is the way to go. I did a search on ebay but did not see any. You happen to know the model number for the carb that fits a 99 King Quad 300? That would help out a lot. Thanks for responding.
@@MrTestertester I have a '99 KQ 300 as well. There are two carb models. Mine is a model "X". Check out Suzuki's parts site.

You ever try and mess with it to see if you could get the carb to work right.....I'm pretty good with carbs but these Chinese carbs for Suzukis suck🤣
You know what i had a buddy buy a different one and he put it on and it worked beautiful. I am good with carbs too. I think i could have got it to work but i wanted to stay with the mikuni so never messed with it lol
Adjust idle
Be careful when you drill out the choke portal and the gas throttle portal. I watched you drill them and you drilled too far.
Odd you seen it when it was not filmed
