Ive got a 60cm strip LED lamp fitted under my front reg plate on my Landy. The bulbs inside the strip are angled up, down and side ways giving a wide and high vision . Very effective to avoid boar and elk and the winters get very very dark in the forests.
Those are great additions. I used to drive a Suzuki SJ413 and made similar changes. I had 4 spots fitted but they were the old incandescent bulbs. But having said that, when you turned on the extra 200 watts, it really lit the way. I also found a couple of small wide angle beams mounted on the sides of the roof rack were useful. I think these are called "Alley Lights" in the USA. I don't think we Brits have a name for them. All the best, Pete

Jonny, what you are putting on the bonnet is a bonnet protector. We do have loose stones on our roads here in Australia & they are normally kicked up by the car in front. I've never used them due to the mounting points causing rust spots on the bonnet. Although the roof mounted spotlights look cool, I'm amazed you didn't put on an LED light bar. I've owned Vitaras & Grand Vitaras since 1992 & I'm on my 4th one. The current Vitara I found to be a soft roader SUV. My next update will be the Jimny. Tasteful & simple mods. I hope to see more of your Jimny in future episodes :)
I would not worry too much about its CX, the geeza is a brick. Besides, the sidebars and the roof tray will do more damage than a few lights. I own the model prior to yours, and only the rooftray added +1l/100 kms, Suzuki dealer dixit. Same if you go for the air/con, which it is a must. Trying a sensible driving, mostly bellow 3000rpm, and it is still hard to go under 10l/100 kms. 17 years after and still love the rascal to pieces. Loved your video, keep them coming, please.
Jonny, point your left lamp over to the right and your right over to the left. This prevents harsh shadows from branches etc because each light is peeking further around each object from your viewing position. Enjoyed the video. Cheers

Great mods on Jimny. Simple yet functional and doesn't fiddle with the overall aesthetics of the Jimny. First video which I watched from this channel was Rimac-Nevera. Hooked ever since to the channel. Great practical content with simple and clear presentation. Great video.
Tip: add wide spread reverse lights to the rear of the roof rack. Connecting them to the OEM reverse lights, with a relay, turns them on/off with the gear lever. Have done that to several of my cars in the past and it makes a huge difference when reversing in the dark.
I just fitted a pair of Rigid Industries D series spots to my Suzuki...........only two wheels however the mighty Suzuki V Strom 1000 V Twin (adventure bike). I love Suzuki as a brand, not pretentious plenty of scope to upgrade, tough & reliable. Enjoyed watching your car undergoing modification 👍
@@woopimagpie A fair point, but if it's a family car and you get stuck behind a lorry on a single carriageway road because you can't overtake? Or when you always have to drop a gear or two to get it up a mild incline at any speed? Or losing 20% of your fuel range? These things can spoil the enjoyment of a vehicle. I hope these won't have such a big effect, but taking things too far certainly could.
@@woopimagpie Ha! Perhaps. There are choices that are much more daft - Land Rover Discoveries, Porche Cayenne, MG Midget, BMW Z1... It has a bit more character and versatility than, say, a Skoda Fabia or a Citroen C3. I can see the appeal.

out of those wheel choices I would go for the american racing ones. Oh and I remember the days when bull bars were dangerous and would get you pulled over. When I was at uni our kayak club had an old transit meat wagon we'd bought from a police auction that was still in full riot spec - perspex windows, bull bars, fittings for the metal cage to go over the windscreen. Every time the cops pulled us over to complain about the bull bars we had to explain to them that we didn't put them on the van, they did.
I've been recently inspired. I'm bringing my Suzuki jimny out of retirement. Parked it in a garage 8 years ago. With a battery charge it fired up straight away. However I've a few issues I'm working on. Making progress

Lose the silver embellishment on the sills as well... just a place for junk to get caught in and start rusting! Cant wait to see the rims and tyre choice... just make sure they are black as Mrs Smith has asked. 👍🏼

So gutted we missed out on one of the Jimnys, such a cool car and loads of mods available for them, I never knew there was so many. Once again Jonny brilliantly delivered vid.
Anytime putting accessories (especially on an off-road vehicle) and the connections are metal to metal and there aren't lock nuts or washers, you should use blue loctite. As they will eventually rattle loose.
I think the front end looks better without the chrome plastic bits, personally; the bull bar looks fantastic, fits the aesthetic perfectly! My dad bought a Jimny last year he uses for back-country adventuring and hunting, but a leg injury has curtailed his activities, so I'm buying it off him; one thing he was gonna do, and bought the parts for (Tibus 4x4) is install portal axles for better clearance. He never got to it because it's a somewhat involved mod (at least for an elderly gent), but I'm excited! I've also looked into a small supercharger for it, made by Rotrex, should boost it to 160hp without affecting reliability or durability. My dad lives in Germany, where I'm going back to shortly (as soon as they lift the covid travel ban.. grrr), which is great cos Tibus is in Germany and Rotrex is out of Denmark, so that's convenient... Anyway love the mods you did, I'm gonna look into several of them myself, especially the leather bits from the bloke in the place who makes the things..! 19:26 if you spend just a few seconds putting masking tape around anywhere that you are taking other bits n pieces off then you have much less chance of scratching any nice paint work :)

Jonny, I am curious why, when you say this is used for the school run, that you have fitted a bull bar. The front fascias of cars are designed to meet pedestrian head impact regs and bull bars undo some of that work as they are no deformable, unlike the plastic fascia of modern cars. Oh, and before anyone starts on me, yes, I know the front of the car is hardly a child friendly environment without the bull bar, and no, I am not anti-4x4 as I currently own a S2A Land Rover and have owned numerous old Land Rovers.
Yeah nah, that wont stop insects hitting your windscreen mate, well maybe an inch or so at the bottom, It's usually called a bonnet protector, to protect your paint from stone chips and the like because Australian roads are often...errrrm not terribly well maintained? perspex head light protectors are also very popular,

There's loads of videos like these on this platform, but I've got to agree that you have taste tweaking the solid Jimny. Good and pratical for an everyday car, for a lot of reviews about EVs this is an old school choice.
I'm a Aussie... the bonnet "protector" is maybe a bug deflector but it's definitely not anything to do with aerodynamics and "flipping the air up over the roof". It's primarily purpose is to protect the paint on the front edge from stone chips.
Since the front silver add-on is gone, I'd suggest to to paint the side ones something matt. Also, use the same colour for front grille and letters at the back. And yes, black wheels are good.

The American racing AR767 rims looked best IMO they look like older style rims you would of put on a 4x4 years ago

How to make a slow car slower! Add more weight and wind resistance, 😂 that will help with overtaking.

I'm a Aussie... the bonnet "protector" is maybe a bug deflector but it's definitely not anything to do with aerodynamics and "flipping the air up over the roof". It's primarily purpose is to protect the paint on the front edge from stone chips.
Looks great don't forget to mention fitting LED's can trigger EML Engine Management Light due to change in voltage.

Since the front silver add-on is gone, I'd suggest to to paint the side ones something matt. Also, use the same colour for front grille and letters at the back. And yes, black wheels are good.
