In the original Jimny video from 9 months ago (see link in video to see that first) it compiled footage and feelings from the first 18 months of living with a new 2019 Suzuki Jimny SZ5. Not only that, but the Jimny was ordered 12 months in advance as a secret surprise Christmas present for Jonny's wife. The Jimny is used every day and is the idea has always been to try and maximise its practicality without the realms of the aftermarket.

Congratulations man, this is the type of motoring content I'm looking for!
Slow, simple and honest. A proper enthusiast doing videos for other enthusiasts.
No need for over the top cinematic sequences, with a bloke trying desperately to sound eloquent.
This is what I want!
Thanks Jonny
I would have thought this dude would have an EV as a family car. Apparently not.
@@angela1984a A fun Suzuki or a lifeless and soulless EV with poor range especially in the winter.
Agreed! Well put, Ricardo!
@@Silver-st2zq A dead planet or a planet with a future. That must be such a tough choice for you to make. Unbelievable...
@@angela1984a Dead planet 😂 maybe you should look into how lithium batteries are made and the not very green energy most people would use to charge them up in their "Save The Planet" cars.
"I didn't want to go crazy on aerodynamic losses"
Car with the aerodynamic qualities of a breeze block
Yeah... I would have thought this dude would have an EV as a family car. Apparently not.
Well every bit counts when its like that.
@@angela1984a I think he has a Kia Soul as well.
@@angela1984a Drive a petrol before the tyrants take them away
@@kevinobyrne8020 Yeah, fuck the environment amirite?
The Late Brake Show and Mighty Car Mods currently taking part in an unplanned Jimny build off. 😂 👍🏻
And Matt from CarWow!
Mighty car mods done theirs better I reckon. Proper bull bar, lift etc.
Other UA-cam channels "I surprised my wife with a $12000 custom exhaust"
Johnny "as soon as Mrs car pervert seen the side graphics, she said no way."
And she was so right. They suck big time lol
When Jonny and Mighty Car Mods are both modifying the same vehicle at the same time! Who would have thought.
To me it seems a little suspicious that so many influential car UA-camrs are buying and modifying the same car...
And Mat Watson just paid Suzuki to do it
Jonny got it first though!
@@XunoHa MCMs is a JB43 though so tad older and certainly more available and popular in Australia at least
@Sajith cheers Sajith, I'll take a look at his channel. Another channel to watch!
Deffo need a tour of the brothers projects! Looks like hes really into some cool vehicles!
I absolutely love this channel. This is what i need in terms of automotive entertainment. Thank you, Jonny
Would love to see more about your brother's work and the cars he works on
You should really make a video about your brothers work/shop,
Looks very interesting!
I would like to see what he's working on for sure
I was watching and wondering about the Bugatti wheel just propped up against something
Great video, great content, great production. Can't get enough of The Late Brake Show!
The Machine is ready for anything post-apocalypse.... 😎😎👍👍
You sir, are a genius. Every single modification, a work of art.
Incredible, truly incredible !!!
If I ever pimp up any of my cars, I’m looking for YOU !!!
Considering how young your video is, I totally understand the amount of 👍 you are getting.
Congratulations.
Those are great additions. I used to drive a Suzuki SJ413 and made similar changes. I had 4 spots fitted but they were the old incandescent bulbs. But having said that, when you turned on the extra 200 watts, it really lit the way. I also found a couple of small wide angle beams mounted on the sides of the roof rack were useful. I think these are called "Alley Lights" in the USA. I don't think we Brits have a name for them. All the best, Pete
What a fantastic way to start the day, good morning world.
Everyone needs a brother called Greg.
I was with you right up until the bug deflector. Ouch. Love the lights, bull bar and rock sliders especially.
Love the content Jonny, and also the addition of your wife into the channel.. great teamwork, loads of enjoyment... TVM!
Great vid. Reminds me of the days and money I spent many moons ago on my old SJ413. 👌🏻
One of the best motoring journalists, great insight into the Suzuki 4x4 accessories and ownership.
One of the most informative videos out there, thanks man!
And congrats, you converted your little Jimny in something even more special.
It's your truck, Jonny, but I think the AR "wagon wheels" as we call them, would look rad. Thanks for the great videos!!
The plain old stock steelies for the Jimny look great.
They do.
I would say steelies as well would look good
Ive got a 60cm strip LED lamp fitted under my front reg plate on my Landy. The bulbs inside the strip are angled up, down and side ways giving a wide and high vision . Very effective to avoid boar and elk and the winters get very very dark in the forests.
Comfort TV. This is great aside from your usual video's. Really feels like a TV episode. Love it!
We're going to require the reaction video from the mrs.
Pornhub have removed loads of video
I love the old, car for my wife trick. Brilliant.
Johnny and Greg, thanks for sharing the mods. Well done mates.
Excellent episode. Truly enjoyable, thanks for doing it.
19:37 i was screaming “use a plastic trim tool!!” TBH I’ve never really liked those bull bars......the other bits are a good shout.
Looks better without the silver trim, think you should remove the silver side skirts... Nice one
Love the Jimny but I've always thought those silver trim bits look absolutely gash
Awesome as ever. About to get a Jimny and already been accessory shopping. Great to see what you’ve done 👍🏻
Another great video Jonny. Love the modifications, looks classy and quite subtle.
The Jimny looks fab Jonny. I'm interested to see Mrs Smith's initial reaction when you got home after these fab mods.
4:45 That, Jonny, is a nudge bar, not a bull bar :-)
This channel gets better and better with every video, fantastic video again Jonny & Co.
Perfect Jonny, an absolute fascinating film.
cool video bro! getting my 2020 Jimny this week, traded in my 2018 model, can't wait to get modding! Greetings from South Africa.
Is South Africa still getting new Jimmy's?
@@juststuff8742 we are indeed. Dealers have orders still arriving and we are able to place new orders but waiting period on new orders still 12 months.
14:47 I didn’t know you have twin brothers!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Great mods on Jimny. Simple yet functional and doesn't fiddle with the overall aesthetics of the Jimny. First video which I watched from this channel was Rimac-Nevera. Hooked ever since to the channel. Great practical content with simple and clear presentation. Great video.
Many thanks. Welcome aboard TLBS!
Excellent video, the Jimny looks so much better now, really cool.
Please go with the slot mag wheels! I want to see them make a comeback! 🚙
The American racing AR767 rims looked best IMO they look like older style rims you would of put on a 4x4 years ago
Love it! It’s a mini G Class. Those leather interior bits really finish it off nicely.
Brilliant Jonny love the video going through what youve bought and why, the Jimny looks great now without being OTT
Definately needs AT tyres on it.
I'd love to know just how much weight you've added and how it affects the power to weight ratio.
When do you start your new combined channel with Marty an Moog then? Mighty Jimny Mods. Looks pretty cool. Love the little roo bar.
So gutted we missed out on one of the Jimnys, such a cool car and loads of mods available for them, I never knew there was so many. Once again Jonny brilliantly delivered vid.
fantastic practical mods. Really enjoyed the video
Those "Bug Deflectors" were popular in the late 80s and 90s
Not to take away from your joy, but I feel you're going over the top on this because this is your first new car.
I mean, at least it's a great, high-demand car to do this on but lol I can't help to be reminded of the time I did this.
Some really tasteful mods. Can't wait wait it see it on a set of shoes, will totally transform it! As much as I know you weren't keen on the black initially, it does help to make it more subtle and have a more OEM feel.
This is actually a very interesting video! Love the mods !
Can you start selling your brother's hat with a "Car Pervert" logo as merch?
Never deny someone fish and chips.
Keep bringing more Jimny videos, i love this car.
I own a SJ413band i really enjoy it every time i start him.
Your brother has an amazing garage. I would be like a kid in a candy shop exploring the work benches. I used to like the Mini bullbars of old until they were outlawed(as you said). I miss my days of spending my spare time in my garage doing something to my car. So thank you for a lovely bit of nostalgia of what us petrol heads loved doing best. Thank you jonny & Merry Christmas to you & your family. Have a good one.
edit: spoke too soon, Brother Pervert makes an appearance! still curious about his car history. 😁
ty for another jimny video, btw.
14:46 did I see two Greg's?? There's definitely red hat uniform going on though in that garage... Is this the Christmas edition? They're like Santa's little helpers.
Ha! His workshop partner also wears a red hat. They are like vintage car elves.
@@TheLateBrakeShow Was looking at getting some 15" deep dish steel rims for my Jimny but when l saw the price at over £300 each l will have to have a rethink, the steel rims you showed only seem to be available in 16" rims.
Love the new lights! Indeed G Wagon-esque. And when you knocked on the door, that sounded a heck of a lot better than old Suzukis did; nice and damped. Liking the new Jimny a lot.
This type of video is so much better than the actual TV car shows. Keep up the good work. And yeah more Jimny content would be good. Always good to see your own cars
Using spanners on UA-cam? Where's your Milwaukee impact wrench? I need to be influenced!
I know right! It was mad watching them do all the work with hand tools.
Not even a socket ratchet handle.
The classic car at the end that Johnny's brother is working on, what make & model is it?
Love it Jonny, thanks from Australia! One day I'll grab myself a Jimny, seems like a perfect little nugget. Can't wait to see it go green laning.
Is that like a nugget in a babies nappy?
I don't really care about the Jimny, I just love your genuine commitement to the job! 👍
Really tasteful Mods and different to Mat Watson
Good work Perv
No, Mat hasn't added any of these parts. He specced his Jimny identically to ours from the dealer.
@@TheLateBrakeShow 💯
More "Defender" than the new "Defender" !!
and probably more reliable ?? And I'm a LR guy :-)
Gregg .
And an old one, and I like Land rovers too.
@@grievuspwn4g3 Every time I see one , I think it;s a "Deefer" ..LOL . I'll stick with my D2-a till it dies .
Cheers Gregg.
Fantastic look, great job👍👍👍
Great show. Well made. Thanks so much.
How to make a slow car slower! Add more weight and wind resistance, 😂 that will help with overtaking.
Oh this is ridiculous, silly and over-the-top. I love it.
Curious to see the performance hit with all the extra weight, though...
It's not about that though. When was the last time you saw a Land Cruiser on the Nurburgring?
@@woopimagpie A fair point, but if it's a family car and you get stuck behind a lorry on a single carriageway road because you can't overtake? Or when you always have to drop a gear or two to get it up a mild incline at any speed? Or losing 20% of your fuel range? These things can spoil the enjoyment of a vehicle.
I hope these won't have such a big effect, but taking things too far certainly could.
@@mceajc Ya gotta admit, a Jimny is a daft choice for a "family car".
@@woopimagpie Ha! Perhaps. There are choices that are much more daft - Land Rover Discoveries, Porche Cayenne, MG Midget, BMW Z1...
It has a bit more character and versatility than, say, a Skoda Fabia or a Citroen C3. I can see the appeal.
Fantastic video Jonny!!! As a fellow JB74 owner with some similar cosmetic mods, this was thoroughly enjoyable to watch!
Looks even better, good options.
19:26 if you spend just a few seconds putting masking tape around anywhere that you are taking other bits n pieces off then you have much less chance of scratching any nice paint work :)
top tip
You need an offroad off with Mat Watson seen as he's just bought one and is modifying it aswell!
Who is mat Wilson???
I think he means Matt Watson from car wow 😂😂😂
@@Livemou5e Mat*
@@tombainbridge5406 autocorrected to Wilson, edited it now!
@@DaveRogers1985 let you off, this time
Brilliant jonnie. I have Have a similar age Swift SZT and it’s given me some ideas for tweaking
Lovely work. So many little bits to add. I've been doing some myself too!!
Oh dear, well at least your didn’t have to pay for any of that mess😆
Like your brother said , you won’t want to be hit by one, (bull bar) and can’t see they wouldn’t be Child pedestrian safe.
I doubt it will make much difference when hit by a flat fronted vehicle.
It's already got a 3star rating can't make it much worse, in fact he may even have added a crumple zone! "Traditional" shaped 4x4s always struggle with pedestrian safety.
I'm still wondering what is it about the Jimny that's so exciting, but I love the excitement and the little details! We're all basically the same, whatever the car, we can't stop fiddling with it 'to make it better'.
Perfect mods. Very satisfying
Wow, never seen so much advertising in one video!
Have you seen mighty car mods are doing a jimmny at the moment as well
Thoroughly entertaining and the Jimny is just adorable.
Amazing Improvements Jonny to the Jimney , It's a very good car .....I wish I bought one 👍👍
Oh no! Why mess with a perfect standard vehicle? The clusterf**k lights were the limit, mate!😆
Why install a kill a kid bars ?
Car pervert?
Because they're EU spec... so they actually won't? I'd be more worried about it falling off when you sneezed.
Good job mate great subtle mods 👌
For the wheels, all the options look good excerpt the chrome/bright finish looking wheels.
A nice car...ruined.
I'm just so so so in love with this Jimny!!
Fantastic video. Just what the doctor ordered after the day I've had. Love it
I really like the black. It works.
those jimny bits rock sliders are great and work. Live in NZ and have saved my sills heaps
I just fitted a pair of Rigid Industries D series spots to my Suzuki...........only two wheels however the mighty Suzuki V Strom 1000 V Twin (adventure bike). I love Suzuki as a brand, not pretentious plenty of scope to upgrade, tough & reliable. Enjoyed watching your car undergoing modification 👍
Nice video, as always. 😃
FYI
The bolts for the spare wheel holder is a known place to rust. Remove them, grease them up, reassemble, and they are protected.
Loved this video. Took me back to my misspent youth in Ripspeed.
Really entertaining video. Thanks very much 👍
I wish these were available in Canada. Thanks for inspiring a new want.
Great video... really enjoyed this one.
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing more. 👌
