Good one ! You should have stuck the storm out in CKGR. One of the unique characteristics of the Kalahari is the build-up to and the actual thunder/dust/rain storm. Lay your hands on a book called 'Cry of the Kalahari' by Mark and Dehlia Owen - you were right there where they stayed for 7 years. Enjoy !

your instinctive decision to make a tactical withdrawal was right-on-the-money there Mr. Roam. Good choice of vehicle, underneath where the important stuff lives, its almost identical to a Land-Rover, Defender [the old-style, riveted aluminium body type] and that's no bad thing at all. Great decision to get out of there. Looking forward to the next video. It may have been in one of the video's but if you don't mind, can you tell me what the GVW of your setup is. Landed in Australia the manual leaves 340Kg and the Auto 325Kg for load including passengers. I am wondering if you would have transport authorities giving you a ticket if you were over or doesn't it matter in South Africa?

    Looks totally idyllic my friend.
Your home-baked bread looked delicious too considering your kitchen situation.

I've been considering a small overlanding vehicle and always thought of the Jimny somewhat of a toy. Thank you for sharing your experience, I think I am sold on a Jimny.

It's a cool vehicle, but there is no getting away from just how small it is. I have since sold it to get a bigger vehicle.
