Regarding that connection in the fuse box for triggering the relay, I think the new ones have an adapter to connect to the stock lift pump wiring that triggers the relay for the FASS pump. My truck has an error that isn't active but it appears when checking for them and it says "lift pump not running", probably because the connector is not plugged in. I would like to get the stock filter delete item from Fleece and the connector for the stock lift pump harness to activate relay for FASS pump, and the draw straw kit. I don't really like the "find a stock fuse location that is switched" and insert the fuse adapter setup. My truck is an '04.5 that did not have the lift pump in tank so maybe that is the difference in how the relay is triggered. You can get the rear fender liners for full coverage in the fender well. That would help keep that filter and pump assembly cleaner.
Nice video SYT! Helpful with good detail if someone else needed to install it. Would like to have seen a clip of you starting it and doing some doughnuts!!! LOL
I know it's old post, help me a lot, but the electric connection to the fuse box you are connecting to number 28 were is console still working in that position?
@@zachlawrence7245 I do not recall having to do anything with it. I just added the new fuel pump wiring to the Fass system. Took out the sensor from the old fuel filter housing and added it to the fleece delete tee. Plugged it back up. Everything else I left alone from what I recall. Hope this helps.
Hey man, what about the two prong port from the old lift pump? Im pretty sure that was the key-in power to turn on the old lift pump. Im getting a code for it being open because my harness didnt come with that connection.
I don’t remember the 2 prong plug? Only wiring outside of the wiring harness for the new pump was the sensor I removed from the old fuel bowl and installed it on the fleece delete and plugged it back in.
Are you referring to the factory filter housing? If so, I don’t recall having a banjo bolt on the bottom. I had a drain for it. I just used the banjo bolt of each side toward the top. The supply coming in and one going out to the CP3. Only thing I can think of is if someone added the banjo bolt for some reason? You will have a sensor to remove from old housing and install in the fleece deleted too. Hope this helps! Thanks
So the factory feed line that was originally pulling the fuel through the draw straw in tank from the top of tank what did u do to the fitting to plug the fitting or u just leave it open to atmosphere???
Ok thanks for getting back to me I just picked up same fass pump and have a aftermarket lift pump already attached to frame so I guess I’ll just block the factory suction line off from top of tank then I guess. doing the new fass sump kit nice job on the install
One more question when u drilled your hole in fuel tank the original lift pump wasn’t directly underneath your sump cause if not I’ll put my sump in same spot thanks
@@richardwieler4549 It wasn’t, it worked out good for me. Needs to be in a flat part of tank to seal. They are a splash screen in there. Try not to get too close to it.
Sup bud what did you do with the other plugs that go to your stock fuel bowl I removed all 3 of mine and I’m getting a code I left my stock bowl in didn’t delete mine
I removed the sensor out of the bowl and installed it in my delete kit and replugged it in. Not sure about the other 2 plugs you are referring too. It’s been a while now…
If I’m not mistaken, I didn’t do anything with the return. I just added the supply to the cp3 from Fass pump. Then I added the fleece filter delete kit. I added the return from the Fass pump to the sump on bottom of tank. I left the factory pickup pump in.
I see the pump on their site as that’s where I planned on getting it but what I really want to know is if the pump comes complete with everything but the sump. Greatly appreciate the response
@@925KrazzyP I’m pretty sure it should come with the bracket, the fuel lines, wiring, fittings and add a fuse. All you would need to order separate would be the Fass filter delete and the XPD sump with a return setup. Also, pick up a hole saw if you don’t have one. I think a 2 1/2” hole saw. May want to double check that though.
All I deleted was the fuel line from the cp3 to the old filter. It’s a short section, roughly 2ft. I hooked the other fuel lines back to the delete bar kit. I left my factory pump and lines that run back to the tank. I used the hose supplied to with kit to run from Fass system to the cp3. I hope that make sense and answered what your asking?
I got everything you got filter delete kit, sump, and fass pump but the old feed line that you take off is still spitting fuel out so my old fuel pump is still working and still pumping fuel out the old line so I’m trying too figure out what too do too cut my old pump off but still read my tank level
@@hunteratkins618 you shouldn’t have any open lines. Did you put the banjo bolts back on both sides of your filter delete? Where is the fuel coming out at?
The return is fine it’s the old feed like that has fuel coming out it’s like i need too find a way too kill power too my old pump or something I’m lost
I think you can go with either. I just researched when I did mine and the seem like the sump was better setup. Probably have to pull the bed or drop the tank to do a draw setup as well. I myself, just thought the sump was better for me. I think the draw straw can have issues with picking up fuel when the tank gets low. However you can do some research to make sure which fits your needs better. Thanks
@@jysonphillips7930 I think if you run a sump you bypass the factory stuff. Not sure exactly what setup you have, but if you run the Fass fuel pump with a sump, you should be able to run that alone feeding the cp3 in the front. You should be able to just unplug or plug of them old fuel lines. You will have a new hose that runs from the Fass to the cp3 the. It feeds the injectors from there. I also did the factory filter delete.
@@selectyourtools thank you just did the job I went with the sump with return like you did in the video and a fleece delete also thanks for all the help one more question is it gonna hurt the pump if I keep fussing what fuse it is I can’t get it on I tried the 28 but it does not work
No, I didn’t. I drill a 1/4” hole and drained the diesel out of the tank. Then I drilled the bigger hole with a hole saw. Then you can de-burr the edges and reach up in the tank and wipe out what you can or use a shop vac. The install the sump. Hope this helps! Thanks!
@@selectyourtools Okay, I just had a shop install a fass100 with a draw straw and the fuel pressure drops to 0 for a second or two when I come to a stop. So can I just have the mechanic install this and then just reroute the hoses to this thing and leave the tank and everything all in place?
