Thanks, been dealing with this issue for months, tried many many different things except your solution🤠
They worked for me. You should give it a try.
Thank you!!! I’ve been dealing with this for years and have made several makeshift sunscreens- now I can see what I was doing wrong (wasn’t long enough) Thank you again!
You’re most welcome. We always gotta help each other out when you have these unsolvable issues.
South facing house. Winter low angle sun makes it worse. Thanks for these options.
Jammed empty toilet paper rolls onto each sensor per your temporary fix solution, works like a champ!
Due to my eternal laziness, it'll probably be my permanent fix! (until I have to replace them)
Thanks for the great tip! I'm sold/subbbed!
Love it😂
A simple fix is to place the receiver on the side of the garage door that does not get the direct sun light. Swap the sensors side to side.
second option for me, permanent. No epoxy though , I had wodden block 6"by 6", heavy enough, so it is laying down in the garage corner. I just put this bracket on it, and even screwed only one screw for easy adjustment. Having extra wide garage helps :) Thank you!!
I built little wooden houses with an opening for the electric eye and another opening on top se we can see the little green light. This “armored” both the sending unit and the reflecting unit. Now I can store stuff in the corner and not worry about bumping them.
You rock! Thank you.
You're welcome!
Appreciate this. Nice Shop from a fellow woodworker. Thanks
Thanks, it's a work(shop) in progress.
@@DIYHGP They always are Brother 🙂
Yip blocked sensor... time change messed up my sensors, the yellow send sensor faces the sun and it started acting up and my garage will not close. Thanks for the idea to block the sun! GOD BLESS EBW USN Ret
Who would of thought good job…!
If the suggestions do not work, then just pull the release cord and manually pull down the door. That is what I do.
I bet the wife would not be happy with that solution.
As a temporary measure if you just hold your button down while its closing it will continue to close even in the sun unless it actually hits an obstruction. I am however going to try this permanent fix.
Excellent, thank you 👋🏻
Would swapping the sending unit sensor with the receiving unit sensor work???
I don’t think so
Do you want to use our smart sensor which addresses the sun issue, lack of sensor coverage and give you an auditory parking guide? Let us know?
Tell me more, you can find my email address in the about page.
Nice Video!
Thanks
Older motors turn down pressure up.
Mine closes most of the way then stops and goes back up.
That’s typical most garage doors and you do have an issue
We have tried everything, still doesn’t work, frustrating
Try putting a big sheet of plywood or cardboard to create a shadow and see how that works
@@DIYHGP we tried that too, I moved the eye further away from the door opening to be in shadow but that isn’t working. We purchased the shields that fit over the eyes but didn’t work. My next attempt will be to use black pvc conduit.
My only suggestion is your electronic eye or laser is not lined up with the receiver. I had this issue and it took a while to figure it out.
Apparently too much sun is a bad thing!
I thought of this myself and it’s not working
Make sure the Electronic eye is far enough out of the sun and shaded
@@DIYHGP I did do that I have a toilet paper roll painted black on the inside wrapped around but that doesn’t shade it enough
