Thanks for the video. I'm installing a Eonon 7180 in an Acadia today. I ordered a wire harness adapter for the backup camera. They're about 10 bucks around the web and Ebay. Thanks for that tip, I'm sure it'll save me some debugging time.
The 7180 install went smoothly. It's plug and play for the most part, exactly as you described. The radio itself must be bigger though, because I had a hard time getting it to fit. Had to dremel out some space to push cables to the right, over by the glove compartment. Still getting to know it, and my biggest pet peeve so far is the chime speaker. Ugggh it's so loud!
Yep, having a dremel nearby is handy for this install. My Enclave OE nav head was bigger than the Eonon so I didn't have wire packaging issues -- but I also needed a dremel to route the USB wires.
I like it a lot, its WAY better than the OE unit. The display could be brighter since a little hard to see if sun hits it right. Made the Bose speakers sound better as the equalizer function seems more sophisticated. The radio search is a little clunky but overall user interface is not bad in my view. My unit worked as advertised out of the box other than the backup camera issue. The instructions were non existent although it turned out to be easier install than I thought it would. Also, I bought a wifi OBD2 to connect to the Torque app that came pre-installed. I never knew about Torque until this and now I can get transmission temp, etc readings. You might also have to reset the AM radio to US vs. Europe on factory settings. To download apps from Google Play store I just park next to my house and the unit picks up the house wifi since my phone can't act as a hot spot.
I am wondering how you determined where the factory camera wires were. I have a 2011 Enclave and I installed an OEM Navigation unit. I am unable to find any specs on the radio wiring. I want to bring the signal from the mirror down to the Nav unit but I don't think my wire colors match the colors you have in your brown plug. Everything else is working on the Nav unit after I installed a GPS antenna. Appreciate any info.
Great vid. Found it while looking at how to upgrade my 11 traverse ltz. Same set up stock as yours. The unit you put in not avail anymore. I found another, seicane, that works. Big question. All those rca connects, in the old days you went to parts store to buy adapter harness to match up new unit wiring to factory, so you don't have to splice. Is that same here? I couldn't really see that in vid. Thanks a ton 👍👍 Edit- looks like he hasn't up loaded anything in years. Anyone else have answers? Thanks
So this retained the park assist feature? I have gotten some conflicting information about that from a seller on ebay. Thanks! I have a 2012 Buick enclave.
Yes, I will post a review of the system soon. The camera image is fine with the fix I noted. Yes, my Enclave has the rear OE DVD system and Bose sound. The 6180 worked fine with the main Eonon harness supplied. The DVD can play on the head unit and the rear OE DVD, or you can switch the head unit to something else like NAV or radio while DVD still plays.
I just installed a GA7180 in an Acadia, but it's pretty similar. I have an SLT2 with Bose and rear entertainment. I haven't figured out how to get the rear DVD to keep playing if I change sources. The rear screen seems to simply mirror whatever is on the main head unit screen. I looked around and didn't see any configuration options in the settings. Was yours like that out of the box? Wonder if this is simply PEBKAC.
I'll look at mine, I've got same vehicle configuration. Mine is working in sense rear DVD will keep playing if you switch to say radio or nav on the head unit. Maybe email tech support? They gave me the pin code to access the internal setup off menu. For example - I had to reconfigure the head unit to Americas AM radio vs. European (since evidently in Europe the band interval is different -- 9 MHz vs. 10 in US so nothing AM in the US would until I tweaked that). But this issue might require a tech support email -- unit shouldn't do what you're describing.
What year is yours? I want to order a 7180 for my 2008 Acadia SLT2 with Bose and rear entertainment, but without nav... and it says it only supports 2009+ which is funny as they are basically identical. Any issues getting the rear DVD to work? Or is it plug and play? I know some aftermarket units require a wiring harness but I think this includes it.
Tape over the holes for the chimes signal and only leave 2 individual holes open. it reduces the loud noise.

Good find! Other than the camera everything worked as advertised out of the box. My experience has been definitely worth the upgrade.

How do you like the 7180, I just bought it and am waiting for it to ship. Can't find any video on it.

For you to have never done this you did great

Do you have a link for the aux wire harness?
What are the color codes for the speaker wires from the original harness?
I connected everything how it’s supposed to be but I have no sound what can the problem be?

?
Did you find out?
the end call button work in the steering wheel??
mine keeps draining the battery- do u know how to fix that ?
nice video thanks, onstar work with that head unit?
Not sure. If I had to guess would say no. But for what its worth I've never used onstar to begin with given mobile phone.
Can you do a video on how the rear camera looks? Also, do you have a rear entertainment system? Output for the rear tv?

Could you please send me that RCA jack and the parts you had to buy to make that camera work around for the eonon stereo please
I have an enclave that won't play DVDs correctly so I need to just switch it out all together but I don't want to lose that camera function
Thank you for your kind sharing. Could you write and tell us your email address? Thanks!
