  • We're really excited to share with you the first installment of a project that we've been working on, and filming, for nearly a year. With a chateau and estate the size of Rosieres, all projects tend to be super-sized and this one is no exception.
Marc and Herve the Super Mason (official title) tackle a 19th Century cistern that used to store most of the water for the chateau and is now dangerously close to collapse. Their mission is to unbury this forgotten monster, whilst trying very hard not to make it collapse in the process.
Thank you so much for watching us! If you enjoyed this, please subscribe, as it helps our visibility considerably and means you'll never miss another episode! If you REALLY enjoyed it, then do consider joining our Patreon community, where we regularly put up mini videos (10-20 mins in general) of our daily life and make other posts about what goes on here. It's a lovely, friendly community where we're able to be much less formal in what we show. www.patreon.com/chateaurosieres
A very special thanks to our new, top-tier Patreon sponsors Neil and Jo Anderson from New Zealand - your generosity and enthusiastic support is very valued.
Thank you also to everybody who watches our videos (especially those who watch the adverts as that's how we earn money!) and to those who leave such lovely comments - we read them all even if we can't always reply. And finally huge thanks to all of our Patreons, who help us to keep going with these videos - you guys are wonderful!

So glad you shared your strategic vision of the estate with us. It's almost impossible to imagine the long range planning, the project
outlines, the vision you have articulated for a working, ecologically sensitive and intellectually stimulating village. Kudos to both

Growing up in the highlands of Scotland my gran had a great system for the weather, she would say 'if you can see the mountain, it's going to rain, if you can't see the mountain it's raining' , worked every time ! No one adressing the parrot in the room ?

First of all, I have to comment on how well behaved and obviously clever Clement is! Watching him take stock of things at that young age is really something to behold! You have your work cut out of you with that huge project of re-directing the spring water, but I'm sure it will be fantastic when all is done! I just love watching your natural ways of dealing with life. Thank you for sharing your life with us!

The work on the cistern was amazing, and the platform around it, Clement is involved in all, and his parents have a good attitude about letting him. The parrot on Amy's shoulder is a plus, an unexpected one. Love your videos.

Just read through the other comments. I too love the music choices and learning about your plans for the water supplies (tons of them) and everything else. Had to laugh when you did "thunderstorm coming" and then showed the rain; then "one hour later" and it was all sunshine. At that point, I said "it's just like Alabama" and then "one hour later" and more rain. I laughed and said "YES! Just like Alabama." Here it will rain like Noah's flood is coming and then just stop and be dry as all get out within 10 or 20 minutes. And then, yes, it'll start up again. Here in Alabama, we often say "if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes." ;--) Glad to see you again and how sweet to see a 5 month old Clement!! So pleased to see you feeling so well, Amy!

I feel like Amy is a Disney Princess because of the way she has magic with animals. She talks about how she’s rubbish at everything. I think her animals would disagree. It’s amazing.
I had a turkey I hand raised- long story. He didn’t sleep well so I would sing him to sleep. He used to live to sit with his head in my lap and have me sing to him for his entire life. He was a lovely boy. Best friends with my favorite rooster who also would watch tv with me in the evenings sitting in my lap.
