Can we all please appreciate how Amy Doolittle discusses furniture and important restoration projects, with a little parrot sitting on her shoulder the entire time- positively delightful!
All the details, the systems that are being improved - so impressive. Marc is a hard worker, knows so much, and Amy is always full of questions, comments. Together, they are a delight. The work on the cistern was amazing, and the platform around it, Clement is involved in all, and his parents have a good attitude about letting him. The parrot on Amy's shoulder is a plus, an unexpected one. Love your videos.
Growing up in the highlands of Scotland my gran had a great system for the weather, she would say 'if you can see the mountain, it's going to rain, if you can't see the mountain it's raining' , worked every time ! No one adressing the parrot in the room ?
I feel like Amy is a Disney Princess because of the way she has magic with animals. She talks about how she’s rubbish at everything. I think her animals would disagree. It’s amazing. I had a turkey I hand raised- long story. He didn’t sleep well so I would sing him to sleep. He used to live to sit with his head in my lap and have me sing to him for his entire life. He was a lovely boy. Best friends with my favorite rooster who also would watch tv with me in the evenings sitting in my lap.
So glad you shared your strategic vision of the estate with us. It's almost impossible to imagine the long range planning, the project outlines, the vision you have articulated for a working, ecologically sensitive and intellectually stimulating village. Kudos to both Amy and Marc for your work! This is massive!
Amy, I find your easy conversation and authentic reaction to things absolutely lovely. It's so cute when you tell Marc that he's being cheeky. Keep up the great work! Take care of yourself and best wishes. Oh, and your dress is wonderful
Lovely introduction. Lovely to see the love that Amy and Marc have for each other and baby Clement. All in all a great vlog showing all the hardwork it takes in keeping a Chateau and the grounds up to scratch.
So interesting. I didn't even really know what a cistern was. Thank you for protecting Amy from the spider without killing it. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
You are so fortunate to have such water resources!! It is fantastic that you are striving to utilize and conserve your largesse! You are truly stewards of the land and the chateau!
Marc operates that big piece of equipment with skill! The cistern is quite an amazing structure and it will be restored beautifully after Marc completes the plaster work. I must say Clement is not only adorable but so well behaved and Amy you look lovely pregnant. 💕
You are such a hard working couple. It seems endless and one feels it is a real Chateau in its natural state which you are trying to save. So pleased you started filming your huge water project a couple of years ago. Keep well Amy don’t be tempted to do too much. Keep safe both of you. From the UK where we only know feet and inches and pints and gallons….
Marc, you are brilliant! You have developed a organized plan and when complete will make life much better there. Your desendents will benefit for years to come. I love seeing how things are thought out and done. Thank you!
First of all, I have to comment on how well behaved and obviously clever Clement is! Watching him take stock of things at that young age is really something to behold! You have your work cut out of you with that huge project of re-directing the spring water, but I'm sure it will be fantastic when all is done! I just love watching your natural ways of dealing with life. Thank you for sharing your life with us!
You may feel that digging isn't interesting, but I am sure your fans/subscribers are avidly interested. I've watched the live stream and then watched it again!
I like your new furniture.I noticed Dave the turkey and the peacock.I love seeing all the critters!! Who is on Amy's shoulder? Thank you for translating metres to feet for the Americans. Our brains don't comprehend the metric system very well. The cistern was really interesting to see.Beautiful footage during rain storm!! Marc was very brave to start his day with only 1 cup of coffee! The cistern looks terrific.Well done to Herve and Marc! Love from Vermont
Dear Marc, Amy et Clement, I do enjoy your videos.....such a relaxed glimpse into French chateau life. The little parakeet is very happy on your shoulder. Love your dress, hope you are keeping well. A bientôt, Karen.
What fabulous infrastructure to have found but what a job - brilliant work. Wow you certainly had a spectacular weather day the day you filmed !!!I particularly love the choice of music in this video. Thank you :)
This update is fascinating, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is very interested in learning about your 'masterplan' for updating the whole estate. Its rare to get an insight into how a very remote set of buildings can be made more habitable and sustainable. I watch lots of other chateau vlogs for 'room makeovers' but this type of major infrastructure work can be your USP! Keep up the amazing work :-)
Amy you look absolutely amazing....so beautiful and love your dress. Marc and Clement are adorable too...lol!! Always love your vlogs, always so interesting. You are both so natural, love the humour and the history.
Mark is so clever and talented, brains and manually capeable (a rare combination) I'm sure you will both realise your plans of a retreat and working farm together.
Just read through the other comments. I too love the music choices and learning about your plans for the water supplies (tons of them) and everything else. Had to laugh when you did "thunderstorm coming" and then showed the rain; then "one hour later" and it was all sunshine. At that point, I said "it's just like Alabama" and then "one hour later" and more rain. I laughed and said "YES! Just like Alabama." Here it will rain like Noah's flood is coming and then just stop and be dry as all get out within 10 or 20 minutes. And then, yes, it'll start up again. Here in Alabama, we often say "if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes." ;--) Glad to see you again and how sweet to see a 5 month old Clement!! So pleased to see you feeling so well, Amy!
Love, love, love your storytelling❤️Not to mention clever Marc, charming & talented Amy, and sweet cherub Clement! The week doesn’t roll around fast enough for me so I can see what’s happening next. Blessings to your growing family🙏🏻❤️
You are so thoughtful in your approach to the environment in all that you do, so wonderful to see. Mark did not take long in getting things sorted with the cistern and is doing it the right way. It is nice that he has a helper, it makes the job more enjoyable I am sure.
What a brilliant project! Restoring a piece of working archaeology, a plan that is ecologically excellent and hopefully economically equally excellent in the long run. Rather like the idea of Marc as a modern-day Jean de Florette tending to his cistern ...
'Loved your choice of music 🎶 for the interior of the cistern and the thunderstorm 🌧☔. You did a fabulous job on your ground excavation around the cistern! I agree. The spider 🕷 was scary looking and creepy (Eeek! Yuuck!) 😬. 'So enjoy hearing about your plans and watching your projects around the chateau 🏰. Your little conure is precious and beautiful 🐦. Thank you soo much for your vlogs and sharing your everyday family adventures with us!!
Amy & Marc; you two are a bundle of joy! 🤩. I love the calmness of the whole atmosphere together with the perfectly relaxing music; yet it shows it was clearly hard work and a heavy job to do. Well done you two! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 (or actually three… I mean… it couldn’t been done without Clement’s vital input & support 😍) Lots of love from The Low Lands 🇳🇱
So glad you saved the cistern. Blends nicely in with nature! The northern part of South Africa where I live is also dry, most of the country doesn't get a lot of rain. Totally understand the great importance of water. What is that song you played just when the thunder storm started? I remember I saw a movie on Tv when I was not older than 15 years old, possibly younger and that song played... The movie was about brave French soldiers marching through the dessert if I remember correctly. I still hum that song and I am 50 now. The song made a huge impression on me. It is a beautiful strong and brave song. 🎼🎵🎺🎻
Ditto to all the lovely comments made already ! Love your hair and dress very beautiful. I like all your furniture finds. Marc should watch some American thrifted ,antique, vintage, videos . He will really appreciate all he finds in France. Average income people here can only dream of the beautiful lamp you have for ten euros ☺️💐❣️ Not to mention the settee n buffet ❣️
Baby Clement So sweet🥰 Hope the baby bump isn’t making Mum feel sick still. Is the entire hill property of the chateau grounds? Lots of love from America❣️🇺🇸
Amy and Marc: As always, well worth the wait. Your channel is delightfully different in the chateau-verse, each vlog imprinted with your family's special humor and flair. Thanks for bringing us along, for making the time to film, edit, and upload these informative and entertaining videos. Looking forward to the next ones.
That was an interesting video, it’s great to catch up on what you’ve been doing , it’s a massive task but it seems like you’ve got a good plan. Such a good idea to utilize the old footage into UA-cam episodes and preserve your strength and energy as much as possible, it seems like the pregnancy is flourishing and you look beautiful Amy . Good work Marc you and Herve did a really good job there, you should be very pleased . Cheers to you all, be well .
Love the video showing all the work I love to see what progress has been made. Hope you're all feeling well and congratulations on the new baby. Looking forward to the next video. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
What a great job you did Marc with that digger! I thought maybe you could leave the stumps but now seeing it uncovered I see the damage they did and how it needs to be fixed. We have an old stone barn that needs lime mortar as badly as your cistern, I really hope you show more of how it was repaired with the lime mortar, I'm trying to learn so I can tackle our barn. Ps. you did well handling a very squirmy baby! haha
What a lot of extensive work, massive projects which of course will be worthwhile in the long run. You are both very ambitious for your lovely chateau. I am loving watching small and big projects alike.
I always enjoy your vlogs , no matter what you are up to. Your plans for improving your infrastructure seem very sound. Hello from Southern California. 🌺
Interesting the different water sources you have found on your land. Love that little bird sitting on Amy's shoulder the whole time. Could not take my eyes off him. Nice furniture you picked up. Always nice to see you vlog.
The two of you put such intelligence and thought into your overall plan. Thank you for letting us come along on your sustainable journey. I find it very interesting.
Great that you have all this back footage to show us now, hopefully take the pressure off a little bit more at the moment, but just to let you know, I definitely don’t watch your vlogs for a 'glossy ta-da' moment at the end of every episode 😀. As with most things in life, the journey turns out to be the most enjoyable part. Stunning views through this episode. Thank you for sharing xx
Well done Amy and Marc! Your vision for the development of your property is awesome. The cistern project is amazing. Amy, you are blooming and glowing and Clement will love having a sibling. A beautiful family! Thanks🙏🏻❤️
My husband and I always watch together. I think he and Marc would get along famously. They are problem solvers and very deep thinkers; am I right? The whole time he was really wishing he could help out with the cistern! You look simply amazing, Amy! Love the baby bump! Have you said when you’re due yet? The buffet is just darling and something I would also have bought. I wish I could gift you a dozen or so lamps; I have quite a lot of them in my basement. I can’t seem to pass up homeless chairs or lamps.
You look so pretty, Amy. Love the dress! The cistern is amazing. Good job, Marc and Herve. You must have such a sense of accomplishment. Darn ivy - it's so pretty and yet so invasive, just like blackberries. Wonderful video. Thank you.
Can we all please appreciate how Amy Doolittle discusses furniture and important restoration projects, with a little parrot sitting on her shoulder the entire time- positively delightful!
Yes!!!
Marc is amazing at containing an extremely active small child and maintaining a conversation.
Amy, you’re so special as a baby, bird & bunny whisperer. Marc is adorable with you & his children. Gods blessings on you all.
You have become a master with that digger, Marc. Most impressive. I must confess I was frightened that it would tip over the edge. Wow! Wonderful job.
Growing up in the highlands of Scotland my gran had a great system for the weather, she would say 'if you can see the mountain, it's going to rain, if you can't see the mountain it's raining' , worked every time ! No one adressing the parrot in the room ?
🤣🤣🤣👍🏽
Sadly, I came away feeling My life is lacking by not having a digger of my own. You are so fortunate.
I think the digger makes Marc happier than most things!!
cute dress you are wearing Amy
.And parrot on your shoulder!
Aw thanks Deb. And your story of your bird babies is gorgeous 💞
So glad you shared your strategic vision of the estate with us. It's almost impossible to imagine the long range planning, the project
outlines, the vision you have articulated for a working, ecologically sensitive and intellectually stimulating village. Kudos to both
Amy and Marc for your work! This is massive!
Thanks Dale - really appreciate your thoughts. We work so hard and it's great to share our vision with like-minded people!
Hervé and Marc on the digger together, and your comment . . . Priceless! Hugely entertaining, as always. X
Now this is my kind of video! We can always see pretty Chateaus all finished and delightful. I prefer the down and dirty of how you got there! Bravo!
Thanks Mike!
Amy, I find your easy conversation and authentic reaction to things absolutely lovely. It's so cute when you tell Marc that he's being cheeky. Keep up the great work! Take care of yourself and best wishes. Oh, and your dress is wonderful
This is so lovely of you - thank you for your sweet comments xx
"A thing of beauty is a JOY forever!"
It's obviously a common sight, mumma having a bird on her shoulder, Clement didn't bat an eyelid 🤣🐦
He’s so over birds.
Marc is very brave to dig on such a steep slope. Much better having a flat platform around it.
Don't know how it's possible but each blog is better than the ones before! Clement is fortunate to have such loving, funny, talented parents! 💕
Ah thanks lovely to hear Martha - thank you!
The loveliest family 👪
Thanks Kath!
Clement is a beautiful boy, growing fast. The lamp will be nice with the right shade on it.
Clement is such a beautiful baby he should be on the pages of baby books .
You both work so hard and do it while taking care of baby Clement. Its beautiful. So large.
Enjoy your music choices so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Love your hydrangeas, they're just gorgeous along the Chateau. 😃👍
Goodness the change in little Clement😊
Lovely introduction. Lovely to see the love that Amy and Marc have for each other and baby Clement. All in all a great vlog showing all the hardwork it takes in keeping a Chateau and the grounds up to scratch.
The wee bird is darling. The cistern is wonderful, like a stone Nissen hut!
Clement’s going to be a real character. Glad to see looking well too!
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it.
So interesting. I didn't even really know what a cistern was. Thank you for protecting Amy from the spider without killing it. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Even your ‘boring’ days are more interesting to us. 👍🏻
Glad you like them!
You are so fortunate to have such water resources!! It is fantastic that you are striving to utilize and conserve your largesse! You are truly stewards of the land and the chateau!
Well impressed with Marc's tractoring skills...that cistern will be a thing of real beauty when it's been lime plastered!
I think you'll be able to see that next time out!
Marc operates that big piece of equipment with skill! The cistern is quite an amazing structure and it will be restored beautifully after Marc completes the plaster work. I must say Clement is not only adorable but so well behaved and Amy you look lovely pregnant. 💕

You had me engrossed until Marc played with the posturing, deadly, vile spider! It was a killer!! Yuck, I’m with Amy...
Amy you look absolutely amazing....so beautiful and love your dress. Marc and Clement are adorable too...lol!! Always love your vlogs, always so interesting. You are both so natural, love the humour and the history.

Another fabulous vlog. Very interesting to learn about the cistern and watch Marc skilfully manoeuvre the digger. Amy I love the fabric of your dress.

Looks like a giant nut encrusted nougat roll. Herve- with his broken fly, what a character
What a lot of extensive work, massive projects which of course will be worthwhile in the long run. You are both very ambitious for your lovely chateau. I am loving watching small and big projects alike.
Infrastructure takes the longest but so worth it
Thanks for teaching us about the region challenges that effect you and glad you have the springs
Your little boy is adorable. He could have a vlog of his own just being a cute little guy.
That is a huge cistern! Well done Mark on uncovering it AND going inside😬 This will be invaluable for the farm. Are there others?
Great video! Good job, Marc!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing work!! Lovely family and we enjoy your videos here in the USA
Wow what a great job! Koodoos to you!
I always enjoy your vlogs , no matter what you are up to. Your plans for improving your infrastructure seem very sound. Hello from Southern California. 🌺
I like the lamp.
🤔 If a modified Tree Pose in the wood falls next to a cistern....does it make a sound?
😂😂😂
Interesting the different water sources you have found on your land. Love that little bird sitting on Amy's shoulder the whole time. Could not take my eyes off him. Nice furniture you picked up. Always nice to see you vlog.
The two of you put such intelligence and thought into your overall plan. Thank you for letting us come along on your sustainable journey. I find it very interesting.
Good video--thank you.
Thanks Janet!
Also love the choice of music within video
Great that you have all this back footage to show us now, hopefully take the pressure off a little bit more at the moment, but just to let you know, I definitely don’t watch your vlogs for a 'glossy ta-da' moment at the end of every episode 😀. As with most things in life, the journey turns out to be the most enjoyable part. Stunning views through this episode. Thank you for sharing xx
Well done Amy and Marc! Your vision for the development of your property is awesome. The cistern project is amazing. Amy, you are blooming and glowing and Clement will love having a sibling. A beautiful family! Thanks🙏🏻❤️
That was fantastic. Thank you. So honest and real.
Fantastic filming of the storm, Amy! oh yes and well done Marc and Herve too! ;0)
That was super interesting. Fun music!
Brilliant. Really great to watch.
You look so pretty, Amy. Love the dress! The cistern is amazing. Good job, Marc and Herve. You must have such a sense of accomplishment. Darn ivy - it's so pretty and yet so invasive, just like blackberries. Wonderful video. Thank you.
Absolutely delightful vlog yet again. Thank you so much.
