She proved he felt superior to women. He had a woman on his defense team. I imagine this is why she didn't question him during direct.
Also, I felt the prosecution case was a little weak. I was concerned.
If Mr Smart Man hadn't testified, he may have been found guilty of a lesser charge, or even acquitted. I'm so happy he convicted himself. He testified Megan was frail, but she had the strength to kill the strong kid, which I believe he said Alek during interrogation, but changed it to Tyler on the stand.

Race, gender, age, etc. It takes work to become a decent human being, but being a subhuman is shockingly easy. All one has to do is feed into their selfish nature. This subhuman was given a good head start with his equally subhuman father and the attempted murder of his mother, the rest he did all on his own. Prison is going to be very deservedly rough for him, where he won't be able to pick on fragile women, children and animals. On the contrary, he will be the target with his condescending attitude and gross mannerisms. Prison is not too kind on those who deem themselves superior to others. His narcissism is going to cost him dearly there.

He really didn’t need the DA’s help to look and sound like an idiot. His whole demeanor is off putting and I suppose that is influenced by the knowledge of the despicable, cowardly, vile acts he committed. I do feel like even if I didn’t know what he did to his wife, children, the dog and even his taking advantage of his trusting patients and employees that I’d still dislike him. I won’t call him a narcissist, as I think that’s a term/diagnosis that’s thrown around too much. No, I think more accurate descriptors of Tony are: tool, jackass, douche, fool, loser, dumbass, fraud, arrogant, lazy, foul, abhorrent, disgusting, evil, nauseating, wretched, ignorant, self-absorbed, nasty, nasal, gross, weak, coward, predator, diddler vibe giving jerk with a very punchable face.
That sums up Tony. That and he looked like a mixture of the Michelin Man, the Stay Puffed Marshmallow Man and Danny Devito’s portrayal of “The Penguin” in that white jumpsuit.
He definitely sees himself as a medical expert, when in reality he sounded like a moron on the stand. I am a RN and have been for 2 decades. I couldn’t roll my eyes hard enough at his long winded BS. He reminds me of a few physical therapists I’ve worked with through the years. Most are great and highly intelligent. Very compassionate. Some are like Tony. They are the ones every nurse AND physician can’t stand bc they constantly go in and undermine the treatment plan. They give unsolicited medical advice to patients and their families. They ignore orders bc they know best and end up causing more harm than good. They don’t read the chart, they won’t talk to the nurse who’s been caring for the patient for 12 hours…bc they see nurses as inferior and dumb. Tony is 💯 THAT dude. I am sure he’s already trying to boss around the correctional nurses and staff. I’m sure that will go great for him. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

Was he isolating his wife that much? Did Megan not have friends? Did she not use social media? Her kids being homeschooled, as well meaning and committed as it was of her (properly homeschooling three children is really difficult and involved), means that we don't get ANY information that we might have gotten about the kids' behavior or appearance or anything that might have been said to teachers or friends, or any information on what might have been happening to their mother. It's frustrating for me bc its like Megan is this huge blank space from a certain time until her death, her health and what her day to day life was like.

Yeah those are definitely the more interesting cases since we have the perpetrator to speak about it. However, the vast majority of family annihilatiors actually do kill themselves or seriously attempt suicide right after the killings. Those cases get much less media coverage though since there's nobody left to tell the story.
Honestly, for some reason it upsets me more when someone is truly planning suicide and kills others before themselves. It just feels like such a huge waste to me. It's so incredibly senseless to kill others right before you kill yourself. If you're going to be dead, why does it matter to you that other people die with you? The biggest waste of life possible. I detest it. With family annihilators it's almost always because they see their family as their possessions/an extension of themselves and can't imagine how/why those possessions could/ would possibly live on without their owner there. The height of selfishness. Disgusting.

1:33:04 I want to reach through the screen and shake this creep every time he does this weird, condescending eye close thing when he is finished preaching to the jury and rotates back to the front. And every time he says “okay?” at the end of a poignant piece of “information” to make sure the plebes understand. And every time he does the little passive aggressive “thank you” when told to stop talking. And every time he sighs, rolls his eyes, looks to the jury to ensure they are with him when he thinks the prosecution is being mean 🙄…basically every moment of his time on the stand. This idiot dug his own grave when he insisted upon testifying. He’s just so incredibly pompous, rude, and all around unlikable.

As someone who actually has had to testify on the witness stand about a horrific tragedy involving one of my kids, my immediate gut instinct was that this guy is full of crap.
I'm usually fairly good at controlling my emotions when I need to, but when I was being questioned I got so upset that the judge decided to call several recesses, and asked me several more times if I needed a break. I was so distraught that it never in a million years would've occured to me to turn and face the judge or anyone else in order to show them how upset I was. The way he whines "Oooh my babies" when asked about the bike, and then immediately reverts to calm and composed seems so much more like melodramatic amateur acting than actual emotion about his dead kids. For me, it took everything in me just to get the words out and not break down entirely. It certainly didn't ever occur to me to get angry at objections or questions from either lawyer, since I was waaay to distraught to even think of being angry... especially angry in such a snotty, affected way as Tony. And the way he goes from "weeping" to snotty is totally unbelievable: in my case, even when the questioning about the tragedy was over, it still took me quite awhile to regain my composure.
Also, before I went on the stand, my lawyer drilled me on proper behavior and responses: don't roll your eyes, don't make annoyed faces, immediately stop speaking if someone objects, keep all answers to "yes" or "no" if possible and don't get argumentative with either opposing council or the judge. It's been years since I testified, and I still remember these instructions from my lawyer. Tony manages to break every single one of the instructions that my lawyer told me were so important. So, either his council is utterly incompetent and failed to instruct him on proper behavior, or Tony just thinks he knows better than someone who's spent years practicing criminal law. (I'm betting on the latter, because his poor lawyer seems to desperately be trying to keep him on track, but Tony just totally ignored him!)

Yikes, from reading some of the comments a bit before he was questioned by the DA, I knew he was gonna be difficult and that he didn't like her, but I wasn't ready for the amount of attitude and passive agressiveness he showed. You can really see how he has no sense of how bad this makes him look and instead just wants to be difficult towards the DA and to show that he is better than her. He seems extremely guilty and unlikable! Can't even imagine how horrible he was at home towards his family behind the closed doors. What a monster.

i couldn’t help but notice that every time anthony proclaims his innocence, he says “my wife killed *her* kids”. not “our kids”, or “my kids”, but “*her* kids”. that kind of distancing language seems to be common in a guilty party’s denial (think bill clinton, for example), and it’s really interesting to see up close. great work, dreading, thanks so much for taking the time to create this. i’m glad to have found your channel in its early days and can’t wait to see more from you!

In his letter to his father he also blames her for their financial situation, saying she was in charge of their finances and he wasn’t really aware of all the fraud that was going on. I think he secretly resented her but he was the sort of passive-aggressive personality that couldn’t directly confront her (especially if he knew he was the one at fault) so imo he drugged and stabbed her instead.

@@nineteenfortyeight sorry if i worded my original comment wrong, i didn’t mean to imply that he always used that kind of phrasing! i was moreso commenting specifically in regards to him using such language to distance himself from (and subsequently, emphasizing his wife’s connection to,) the actual act of killing his own kids, rather than him using it to distance himself from his *kids* as a whole, if that makes sense. what i was trying to say about the phrasing of that sentence had more to do with the context it was used in, rather than his way of speaking in general.
