I told my son when he was a teenager. Trust your instincts,if you are around someone that makes the hair go up on the back of your neck then you probably should keep a respectable distance.
Unbelievable that the dog attacked Ted when he hadn't done so before. We really need to pay attention to animals. They have instincts we just don't have
This has been done for Centuries by Indigenous people. Natives study animal behavior and out of this has come wisdom in our every day life. They call it Animal medicine. There are traits every animal and bird have. Please look this up.
Means nothing at all. Dogs often do that for no apparent reason. Do you think when the family's pitbull suddenly attacks their kids, it is because it sensed something?
An animal's instincts aren't always true. I am a big animal person and have always had all sorts of pets all of my life. Animals have been calm around me, but there have been a few times when someone's pet was not friendly with me. My aunt's cat was mean and on gaurd in attack mode around me, and so is my best friend's dog. I am not the only one they are in attack mode with though. A part of it is just their personality and/or something that had happened to them in the past perhaps. If a dog were to be going totally bonkers, like Ted's cousin had said her dog was doing, that would alert me too because that is more than just not liking the person, that is detecting something that very off.
i lived in Renton and because of my divorce needed to hitchhike to 3 jobs in seattle to buy a car. I had been speaking to Seattle Crisis Clinic ---- nice man, good counselor(Ted Bundy) I set out to grab a ride and a tan vw came up and when the door was opened, a nice (looking) man smiled and asked if i needed a ride! I had my hand on the open door when i realized the door DIDNT have a door handle!!! if i had gotten in the car, i couldnt have opened the door to get out! so i declined the ride from Ted--- all people knew was his first name, and realized later it was Bundy! Thank you, God, for your protection!!
This guy picked my mom up hitchhiking home from a party one night after her friends left her . He pulled a knife out on her and she jumped out of the now famous car he drove on the freeway going 50 miles an hour . She died twice that night in the hospital and luckily survived it . Her statements helped in finding him .
I saw an interview with Ann Rule who worked with Ted at the suicide hot line. She had a large dog that she said just loved everybody. She would take the dog with her on the nights she worked the hotline and said each time Ted tried to pet the dog she growled at him and he was the only person she ever growled at.
Hitler had dogs too. In fact my very loving father was attacked by his own dog who couldn't distinguish who he was from a costume party where he dressed like a Sheihk in the 80's.....all it was, was the clothing that was different.
I was a gas station clerk at Gulf in the early/mid 70s, and I remember Ted coming in and getting gas several times. Most times, he came in and seemed like he was charming, good with words, and good natured, and I thought “what a good looking guy”. Then, one time in April 1973, he came in and had a stone cold look on his face. He paid for gas, and some sort of food, and was staring out the window at a group of women. He left the store, and I watched him stare at them while he was sitting in his car, and he slowly drove off, with the creepiest look on his face. I will NEVER forget that look. Stone black eyes. Just like she stated. It’s unreal how he “masked” his true identity.
@@pamelamartin8464 he sure was. The scariest part is how people fell, like me, for his good charms and his good looks. I will never forget the day I opened the newspaper and saw him on FBI’s wanted list, and different pictures of him. It literally gave me the chills.
A dog & I at 9yrs old, had visceral disdain for a man who'd gotten engaged to a woman. That man later abused the woman , attempted homicide & killed a dog he gifted her . BELIEVE THE DOG‼️
I don't agree. Most dogs approach me in a friendly way and allow me to pet them but every now and again there's a MF who growls at me and tries to attack me.
when that occurs it's called anthropomorphizing...but animals do often sense things like a dangerous humans, but sometimes it's their own trauma that may cause them to misread a situation...humans are similar...it's a characteristic of being sentient, sensing danger or having a trauma response that danger could be near
Great, I was told there would be no math. Let's see... If you're alive in 1799, then you could have children as late as 1850, and they could have children as late as 1900. Ted Bundy was born in the 1950s. Hmm. Our friend must mean their grandparents were alive in the 1800s.
I was living in Tallahassee at the time the sorority house at Florida State University was attacked by Bundy. It was the end of innocence on campus and around the city. His cousin should in no way be ostracized. Who would ever imagine your cousin or friend could be such a monster.
My goodness, so many comments of people judging and condemning Edna. She isn't the one who committed these crimes. By the roll of the dice, she happens to be the cousin to Ted Bundy. We are all hear listening to this interview because we are fascinated and curious with Ted Bundy and what he did. I think she is handling the interview very well and she is articulate.
The most important thing she says is about her dog‘s reaction to him. I had a very sociable cat who would rub up against any guest who came to my home. One time I had a guy over who I didn’t know well. My cat ran and hid under the bed. I never invited that guy back and put a lot of distance between us. Always trust your pets!
Never ignore your dogs, if they don't wanna go down a certain alley or street they normally do for example, don't test the theory. I know this will sound silly to alot, especially people who don't have dogs but they know and can sense things we can't
There is a man that walks by the yard sometimes and my dog hates him, he never barks but when this guy strolls by the dog gets very protective and loud.
My husband's eyes turned black just before he through me into a window, severing my brachial artery..I almost died. The last conscious memory I have is his black eyes..my mind after that remembers nothing..3 surgeries later and 2 years of physical therapy..I can use my arm. My psyche has never recovered.
The description (starting at 24:30) of how the dog was very protective of Edna, getting aggressive towards Ted, really rings true. I just tturned 68, and one thing I've noticed over my life and have now come to believe is true, is that if a dog does not like a person, NEVER trust that person. Especially if a normally friendly, docile dog, really shows a dislike of a particular individual!
This is something Native people have known for ages because they're intent on watching an animal's nature. Animals are able to see different dimensions. Watch a dog or cat some time. You'll see them interact with something we can't see.
Yes that is true.. but sometimes dogs bark at people becuase they're very terriotorial of their owner and don't wan't strangers moving in on their territory. That's why you sometimes have to earn the dogs trust.
I always feel bad for Bundy's younger brother. He was a kid, looked up to his adult brother and even many, many years later you could see how deeply broken this man is by what happened.
I feel sorrow for all the families. Some of these girls were never found. They never received a proper burial. Ted was cold-hearted until the very end.😢
The police have said that it's impossible to try to find the remaining ladies. Over 45 years ago and those remains may still be skeletons or absorbed back in the earth. 😢🥀🥀
@@gigigiseleworld Really? Bc lately now that we have the genetic genealogy data, soooo many Jane & John Doe’s have now been identified & decades long cold cases solved. Idk how long bones stay out until there’s nothing left but I know it takes 100 years or so I believe. But Bundy absolutely had so many more victims and I wish we could just find them and give them the dignity & respect of a proper burial. Awful.
I worked with one of his victims. The mood at work went from smiling a nice place to work, to dark and quiet. It was universally traumatic for all of us.
I had a family friend who was the wife of a serial killer. Nobody ever knew. Everyone who knew him - and there are several of my family members and other people I know who knew him - said he was a really nice guy, nobody believed the killer was him. They walk among us and are often very charismatic people. Its worth learning the signs of narcissism and psychopathy so its easier to spot them.
It's interesting to hear about the dog going crazy when he arrived. If you read Ann Rule's book, the lady who worked beside him in the call centre, her dog also reacted very badly to him.
Ann Rule was an amazing writer. The book is called "The Stranger Beside Me". Every true crime book I've ever read by her is fascinating. She was a former police officer from Seattle. The book "Small Sacrifices" about Diane Downes is excellent.
I walked past his upstairs everyday on my way to college. He was very engaging and often called down to me ( he knew my name). I always sensed a darkness about him, though friends urged me to get to know him, etc. I just felt such an ominous feeling. And ironically, one of the girls he murdered that frigid January was one of my friends. She worked at the Northwood mall:I still remember her smile.
Oh, no. I’m so sorry for your friend. You are a sensitive soul and felt this man was bad. It gave. E chills thinking how you felt an ominous feeling about him.
How could blue eyes turn black. I wonder, Is that part real, or is a a strong impression. Would anyone else have seen that transformation? It reminds me of werewolf lore.

When I was 17 in the fall of 1972, I was walking home from my swing shift, about a mile. I lived in a smallish town near Seattle. I had to walk on the main arterial through town at 11:00 at night. A light colored small car pulled up a few yards in front of me. A tall, slender man with dark wavy hair got out and started walking towards me calling out. "Susie? Susie?" (Not my name.) I froze. I wanted to run across the highway, but it was four lanes. Just then, a police car pulled up in front of the guy's car, the guy quickly got back into his car and drove off. That policeman saved my life. I might have been Ted Bundy's first victim.
There are many women who report these incidences of near abductions or attacks, and the police unfortunately don’t record them or pay attention to them, because ‘nothing happened.’ This is how these perpetrators get away with so much.
Interesting for me what could it mean if a persons pet acts strange. Like behaving aggressively even if I was trying to be neutral in it's presence. This pet was previously owned by someone who was a satanist.
I don't like dogs and cats but they seem to like me a lot not sure why. I don't like them come near me but they wiggle their tails looking at me and I usually turn away without eye contact. Do you know why?
It’s not that he turned into somebody else, both versions of him co-exist at all times. That’s what makes a person such as Ted Bundy so dangerous. It’s not one or the other, it’s both.
@@khepreshthat's what I was gonna say. The real him is the him that he hides. The nice Ted is a character. How he acts when he thinks nobody is watching is who he really is.
I saw a video years ago when TB was going to court, he was in a hallway and someone asked him a question he did not like. I saw that rapid change in demeanor, like he was another person. This anger came to the surface. I can't find that clip anymore. It was frightening.
You can see it in one of his last interviews before execution when he's responding about the child he murdered. He won't really talk about it but you can tell he is reliving that crime and when he gives his response and looks back up at the interviewer you definitely see that mask slip. He goes from "charming Ted" to a total predator.
I think she did a fabulous job bringing her experience with and of him, meanwhile acknowledging the awful things he did and mentioned feeling uncomfortable by him herself. It’s got to be icky having a serial killer as your cousin
I've seen those coal black eyes myself, not in this individual but in another. The whites were gone and had turned black where once they were white. As I looked into those eyes in disbelief at what I was seeing, I realised I was not mistaken. These black eyes were endless voids of darkness. Scary! The energy in the room had changed. It was vile and cold and creepy. Even their facial features, demeanor, language and behaviour had changed.
My aunt was the forensic pathologist for the ted bundy case and she said he tried to smile and charm her and she told him im not having or putting up with that s***!! She had to sit with him throughout the case and go over evidence since he wanted to represent himself.
When she was talking about the dancing part and said "the mask slipped off and he went back to his normal self," I think she has it backward. That was his true self and he got caught so put his "nice guy" mask on before rushing out. Being a psychopath, he was probably constantly wearing a mask for whatever situation he was in. She caught his true form which was a woman hater.
This story disturbed me, mostly because once my husband and I saw someone with baby blue eyes that turned midnight black in our presence. I've heard others talk about such things before and now wonder if there is anything science could add to this phenomenon. As a Christian, I have my opinion.
demon possession, pray ask god and jesus to protect you, call upon St Michael the archangel to protect you from the wickedness and snares of the devil.
Most dogs would want to get closer to "check out" that scent, rather than attacking him. They are usually very good judges of a person's "nature/spirit" upon first contact.
Dogs can scent the aura of people, my dog would go crazy when a couple of "friends" visited, the same dog was ok with them earlier, as their intentions changed my dog was able to detect it, those friends ended up stealing from me. Never ignore your dog.
Why not a book? If a detective, juror or reporter, why not her? It's really appalling for people to expect these families to share the guilt of their murdering relative, rather than viewing them as victims. In fact it should be used as educational material for forensic psychologists.

I was a representative from United airlines to the Republican National Convention in 1968. They used flight attendants to escort the Governor wives to events and meet and greet. Being from Washington State but based in Miami. Convention was in Palm beach. Ted Bundy was working with Washington Governor Evans. I met the Washington delegation small aircraft landing in Palm Beach. Bundy was part of this delegation. He had his cream turtle neck on. I was only 22 years old. The minute i saw him, he gave me the creeps. He came to my hotel door and knocked. I was with another flight attendant room mate. I asked her to tell him i was not there. I avoided him.

My aunt worked in a nightclub in Florida and for a couple weeks a nice guy named Ted would come in most nights. One night he offered her a ride home. She almost went with him but my uncle, who also worked there, said, “no I’ll be off in 10 mins”. So she didn’t end up going with Ted, but she wouldn’t have had any worry about going with him. Shortly after that they saw him on tv get arrested for the sorority murders. Freaked them out!
I lived near Chicago when Richard Speck killed 8 nurses. A bunch of us young girls at 18 used to pick up hitchhikers….after that we were terrified of strangers.
Regarding TED BUNDY The news said he always picked on long haired girls because he had been in love with a girl like this but was rejected. Is this true?
He was most likely abused as a child by an adult or by more than one adult and threatened not to say anything. No one is a serial killer out of no where something had to happen to them as a baby toddler child or and teen age
Interesting interview. I watched the conversation with a killer about Ted Bundy on netflix, and I was so shocked on how many women showed up to his trial all because they thought he was too good looking to be a serial killer. Also, he acted as his own lawyer, that must have been so awful for the victim's families.
I watched that, very well done. The real interview where TB speaks into the microphone and whispers a couple of words gives me the heebie-jeebies... do you know which one I mean? I can't recall who is doing the interview, I'm sorry. I hope you remember the one I'm referring to. It's the scariest thing I've ever heard. I had nightmares.

Some people smile when they are nervous. Notice her hands stay clenched and her throat/ neck is red. This interview is challenging for her. The Ted she knew was very different from the Ted others knew.
He was probably a talker with a good personality. Maybe articulate like she is. Some people are just easy and interesting to listen to. Especially if they do it with flattery. They are seductive and charming.

Why is everyone so mean? She is probably so nervous, if you know a narcissistic person, they are charming and I am sure she does have fond memories. The thing I find strange is everything I have read says that he was raised by his grandparents and wasn't told until much later that the person he thought was his sister was actually his mom.
I'm glad she wrote this book, because it IS good to talk about it. It is also good for all of us to learn more about a man who has traumatized many of us for years. I was the age of many of his victims, was in a sorority, and had long brown hair during his killing years. I was very aware and scared that he could make it into our community. The thing that scared me the most was how attractive he was. Before the news about him, I would have liked this charming man with the cute VW and that scares me even this many years later. It is good that women are learning from this book that there are men like that out there.
He didn't escape from prison in Colorado, he escaped from a courthouse library in Aspen and a small county jail (Garfield County) both in the mountains - neither community was equipped to deal with someone like that.
I was in high school just 5small town blocks from the jail at that time. The jail held mostly people that did a work release type sentence. They would either just check in on a weekend or a few nights a week, if they wanted to get it all over with. The gate to the jail yard had a sign “thank you come again” posted on the outside. Ted Bundy’s cell was underneath the caregivers apartment, which he cut through the ceiling of his cell to the extra bedroom and escaped that way. Our social studies class visited our country offices (courthouse, county offices, jail house were all one building) when we went past his jail cell, he smiled at our class. ( obviously before he had escaped). It was creepy. This was an interesting interview.
I've heard a few times from different individuals commenting on their interactions with Ted about his eyes going black and stating he has to go. I think Ted opened himself to the demonic. He had the spirit of rejection from his childhood, then a girlfriend. Like his cousin shared, Ted did many good things. He saved a child from drowning and worked a suicide hotline. The psychology of Ted Bundy is so interesting.
Yes, A lot of this story sounds like what Christians of certain denominations believe in as "demonic possession." Examples in the Bible etc. I was hoping Piers would pick up on her opinions of this.
The term _serial killer_ was coined in 1974 and not widely used in Bundy’s era. The FBI’s behavioral science unit was in its infancy in the 70s and referred to people like him as mass murderers.
@@mazklassa9338 there is a difference between a mass murderer and a serial killer. A mass murderer means all murders were committed at the same time or in the same sequence. The description (starting at 24:30) of how the dog was very protective of Edna, getting aggressive towards Ted, really rings true. Especially if a normally friendly, docile dog, really shows a dislike of a particular individual!
This is something Native people have known for ages because they're intent on watching an animal's nature. Animals are able to see different dimensions. Watch a dog or cat some time. You'll see them interact with something we can't see.

I noticed that too. I suppose she got a little tongue-tied.

Ted would revisit victims bodies. I’m sure the dog picked up the scent.

@@user-yn9mx7xu1r That’s not true though. Many people found Bundy unsettling and creepy - it’s a media myth that everyone thought he was charming and handsome. If you read enough about the case you will find many accounts by people who said they felt something was “off” with him, and avoided him.
My sister, who was a recent college graduate , was approached by Bundy while on a jog by a lake. She had no idea who he was. Ted offered her a beer and got into a conversation with her. Hello from Ireland. Very interesting interview indeed & what a lovely woman. Thank you Piers.
Fantastic interview! I can't imagine how nerve-wracking it must have been to be interviewed on such a sensitive subject. I know that I tend to smile out of nerves when public speaking too. Such a fascinating story! I can't wait to read the book.

She has every right to write this book.
Why is everyone so mean? She is probably so nervous, if you know a narcissistic person, they are charming and I am sure she does have fond memories. The thing I find strange is everything I have read says that he was raised by his grandparents and wasn't told until much later that the person he thought was his sister was actually his mom.
😢
I read that too. My question is who is Ted’s father?
@@deannehuizenga4845 is an MK ultra baby
I remember this.
Begs the question: what community was equipped to deal with the likes of ol’ serial killer/handsome/cool guy cousin Ted?
Are you aware that many people consider jail, prison (and gaol) synonymous; one and the same? Talk about pedantic! 🙄

When eyes turn black, there is a demon in a person!!!
When the eyes turns black they have become totally insane.

Serial
Define "mass murderer".
For example, a school shooter.
A serial killer means you commit each act separate from one another over time. Pretty simple distinction
