It’s striking how, Maggie’s sister testified with so much regret and anguish about persuading her sister to go to Moselle to be there for AM. He, however, sounds irritated, annoyed and offended when recalling that night. Guarantee that if he were innocent, he’d be choked up saying, “I wish the dogs had alerted me” “I regret that I left so quickly” “had I known that was the last moment with my wife and son…” “the dogs should have alerted me to someone else being on the property, they had to have been and I don’t know why they didn’t change their behavior.”

This is why forensics thinks the shooter was shorter, because Alex was sitting down. And in the golf cart, he could prop 2 guns up in front of him inside the cart, and easy access to both weapons. Then he went back up to the house and started texting Maggie that he was going to his Mom's house. But he didn't tell Maggie that when he was down there at the kennels?? How is anyone buying this? My best friend died in a car wreck.. I was with him always and was with him 3 hours before it happened. I lived with survivors remorse for years because I normally drove him home if he was drinking, that night I felt ill and went home.. but before it happened it was just another day, nothing out of ordinary and I struggled to remember certain things about that night. My point is unless you know in advance something bad is gonna happen it’s not a guarantee we remember every little thing or conversation. It’s also very easy to make someone look guilty not knowing something when on a grand stage and an attorney pointing out the smallest things. Attorneys are very good at making anything sinister. I read an account that said Magi asked 3 different people if she should meet Alex that night. She did not want to go and said Alex was acting fishy and that he was up to something. Her understanding was not that she was going home to go to dog kennrls that night but that she was going home to see Alex's father who was very ill. She said Alex told her he had pnemonia and it was very serious. She thought she was going to see a dying man. I wonder why this was not brought up at all about how he actually lured Magi back that night? She would never have driven all that way to go to a dog kennel that night. She had wanted to stay at the beach house and continue her work there getting ready for a July 4 party.
Alex lured her home and the 3 people she checked with about whether she should tell Alex she would come home that night (as he requested) should havr verified the true reason why she went back there and verify that Alex did indeed lure Magi back using his sick father as the bait.

They all made the personal choice to knowingly get onto a boat being operated by a drunk at the wheel, not to mention they'd already nearly collided w/the Woods Swing Bridge, earlier in the night aboard the boat on their way to go bar-hopping before they later re-boarded & crashed.

If he wasn’t the murderer, and only just happened upon the scene, he wouldn’t have knowledge as to when those murders took place. Could have been 5 mins after he left or 5 minutes before he came back home. There’s a huge window of time in between. The only explanation for him lying about him being down there earlier, was because he knew they were murdered before he left, and he didn’t want to put himself anywhere down there in that time frame. Only the murderer would need to lie about this. Case closed!! This man is a pathological liar, thief, and murderer.

He never demanded to know who gunned down his family. He never exclaimed "who would do this we need to find them!" He never said to the Police "Stop looking at me and figure out who killed my family!" He never feared for his life standing out there in the dark after seeing his wife and son gunned down, and he NEVER feared for Busters safety by calling him to ask if he was okay, or to tell him to get to safety.
I find that hands down the most telling aspect of his guilt.
Often times, you can learn a lot from what people in these situations DON'T say. As much as Alex talked, he sure didn't say a lot.
Plus, he lied about being at the kennels. No innocent person would do that.

You'd recall the last time you actually saw them alive. You'd hope this helps narrow down a timeframe so investigators can use it to find the culprit.
I think it hurts his credibility greatly to have continued to lie up until taking the stand. The only time I can see something like this being "okay" is in the case of someone who could become the scapegoat for poor police work. AM had a good record, wealth, connections, and all the privilege of a cis, white male. He had no reason to lie out of fear, etc.. so what's the excuse? besides the sheer amount of lies leading up to and after the murders what's the probability of someone coming onto your large property in the dead of night and murdering two people at the kennels within a brief period that he decides to not be there . very unlikely. and the fact he was trying to hold up under interrogation even over mere minutes as to how long he was down at the kennels. He definitely did it. from what i gather though from the testimonies of his family and the caretaker at his mothers i don't know wether it was planned well in advance I think he had been contemplating and went through with it when a moment was created. because honestly you couldn't think of a worse set up and the fact he tried to bribe the caretaker at his mothers that she didn't see him he was trying to stash weapons and having his brother manufacturer the weapons for his sons to then use them on the wife and son and think it would not lead back to him, surely with the amount of money and connections through drugs he could have got a weapon that would have been more difficult to trace

When I watched the Murdaugh documentary on Netflix (that had a lot to do with Paul) it became clear pretty early on that Paul was an alcoholic and narcissist along with being an abusive boyfriend. His death and Maggie’s death are tragic. But you can see how Paul became the way he was, he was a lot like his father. Alex had many issues, it was clear he was a drug addict. He did things above the law to try to protect Paul initially. When he felt his life unraveling and his family might turn on him that’s when he turned on them. He is cold without any emotion while giving testimony. And like many others have said…he was never intent on finding the “killer”. Bc he is the killer lol

Some anonymous person did say Maggie consulted a divorce lawyer & was looking into their assets too. Alex & Maggie probably did still go do stuff like go to a weekend baseball game with another couple. Maggie might've still loved Alex too, but there were obviously problems in that relationship. He would have been afraid and overwhelmed with shock. His memory of every detail would be ingrained in his mind due to the emotions from that day. The timeline, phone and OnStar data, his behavior all confirms his guilt to me. This is not the result of him being an innocent man. I hope the jury can see through him, but you never know. I'm so glad you mentioned Casey Anthony. I feel these cases are so similar in so many regards. It was obvious that Casey did something very sinister to her daughter and that she was a liar. It's obvious Alex is a horrible lying thieving jerk. The trial against Casey was ALL about how she lied, partied and scandal after scandal, but absolutely nothing presented that was proof she murdered that poor baby and I feel like this trial is going down the same path. It's all about how they can prove 100% he lied, stole and was a bad guy, but they don't have that 100% proof he murdered them and they're presenting the case as if he was on trial for being a thief and he's not. Legally speaking, I don't know how anyone could come to a guilty verdict with the evidence they presented so far. There's not even a motive. I have the unpopular opinion being that I do not believe he is guilty, but regardless, I don't like how this is unfolding. I don't agree that if he wanted the real killer to be found he wouldn't have lied. Not necessarily, imo, he was a lawyer himself and comes from a very legal background from birth so he knew any time a wife is murdered, the significant other is always the #1 suspect no matter what. He was trying to make sure there was no implications his way so that they didn't jump on that bandwagon and miss the opportunity looking for real killer.

The repetitiveness of their questioning was uneccessary and they did it themselves without prompting from Alex plenty of times and it was done simply because they themselves were stumbling and ineffective. It was a show trial and not a very good one.
