The production values on Abba recordings were legendary, the overlaying harmonies are still revered by artists today. The orchestrations by Bjorn and Benny were masterful and the band was a true global phenomenon ✌️

There's no such thing as a bad Abba song 😂
The thing about Abba is that all there songs are different but instantly recognisable as Abba. Try "Does your Mother know" for a different sound as the boys sing the majority of it. Or "Eagle" which is a favourite of mine. Much love from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@@DartJedi Me too although my favourites are still "Take a Chance on Me", "SOS" and "Chiquitita" (to remember a little female Cub Scout who made me cry with her beautiful singing - I played guitar). We thought "Chiquitita" meant "little girl" at the time (and she was). She sang "I'll shine once more like I did before" (and I have tears in my eyes now). In the spirit of "naughty" songs, we all sang "When I kissed the teacher"(!) spontaneously in my primary school class. Maybe they wouldn't play that now on the radio 🤣. I had a teenage crush on a friend who played violin so "Bang a Boomerang" means a lot to me. I love "Eagle", "I am the Tiger" and "Under Attack" as well.

Hello , so nice to see you again reaction to ABBA songs
    "Money money money" (1976)
it is a very good song in a different musical style,
cabaret type, set in another era
    "Money money money"
    is the single that followed
    "Dancing Queen"
and reached # 3 in the UK,
#1 in Australia and several European countries.
It is a totally different song from its predecessor "Dancing Queen"
and also from its successor "Knowing me knowing you"
This is the versatility of ABBA,
they go from genre to genre,
as well as from success to success
The song lends itself very well to the brunette Frida's lower voice,
the choruses are sharper in contrast (and very catchy)
    The instrumentation is excellent
The official video is one of ABBA's best, very creative,
it shows Them in fashion situations and also with their famous kimonos
But a few months before ABBA premieres
the new official lyric video of "Money money money"
I hope to see you soon with more ABBA songs
My best regards to You from
    Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷
    South America

Good reaction! This is one of many great songs by ABBA, and it's good to see Anni-Frid at the forefront of this one, as it's usually Agnetha's vocals up front.
Ironically, Anni-Frid did indeed get her "a wealthy man" - she married a Swiss prince, although sadly he died in 1999 but they had 7 years together. She's now with a British aristocrat, so she's obviously got a taste for the good living now! 😄

Agnetha especially hated to leave her children for tours and they decided to produce the videos so that their fans could see them perform.

This song was from the golden era of economic rise and growt in Europe (in the seventies) where living standards were in continous increasement and vast majority of the population did so well. it's obvious that the number of wealthy people was also in increasing trend in those years.

Hey guys, check out the most successful solo hit from an ABBA member (really only one that was big in the U.S.) and that is "I Know There's Something Going On" by Frida, produced and drummed by none other than Mr. Phil Collins!

With nearly 400 million albums sold worldwide, 17 No. 1 hits and over 16 million weekly global streams, ABBA is one of the world's most successful music acts of all time. Ever since their breakthrough with “Waterloo” back in 1974, ABBA's music has captured the hearts of people all over the world. Their collection album ABBA Gold has been in the UK top 100 for over 1000 weeks and counting...

Some years back, the British band Erasure did some quality Abba covers and released them on an EP called Abba-esque and then shortly after an Australian Abba tribute band called Bjorn Again, styled themselves on Abba and did some Erasure covers and called the EP, Erasure-ish. Bjorn Again are still going and currently touring the UK.

This is from their "Arrival" album, which was one of my favorites. If you'd like to check out Bjorn singing lead, check out "Why Did It Have To Be Me", with the ladies singing backup and on the chorus.
"Voulez Vous" is an absolute BANGER that you have to check out and for a moody, slower piece, "Knowing Me, Knowing You" is so deep and amazing.

One thing that makes ABBA great is the theatricality of their music. This one for example, both the song AND video, have a "soundtrack" kind of storytelling quality, as if they're from a movie (or as if the video itself IS the movie). Unlike songwriters for whom everything is autobiographical, ABBA is never afraid to be storybook, fairy tale, or cinematic in their approach. Love them, and love this review! If you're into deep tracks, check out their early song "So Long"---it's the opposite of this, thematically ("So long! See ya honey, can't buy me with your money!")

    • @michelemercier2286
      @michelemercier2286 Рік тому +1

Funny. I've never considered that before, but yes, So Long does have the "opposite" theme. (They say that money's got the magic touch, but not to me it doesn't mean that much). And a great song as well.

You should do a reaction on Mama Mia the movie. It has all their songs that are preformed by Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Sevfried, Colin Firth, Christine Baranski, Stellan Skarsgard, and Julie Walters. You will love the movie, and you will have to do the reaction to the second movie: Mama Mia: Here We Go Again with the same cast and with Cher, Andy Garcia and Lily James.
