I was 6 year old, I doesn't knew english, living behind the Iron Curtain. I was on a winter holiday with my parents, and in a Hotel they was a music machine. Once someone put in this song, and I loved so much, after that I asked everyone everytime to put this song in. I was never ever with same reaction to any other music before, but this so much catched my 6 years old soul, I fallen in love with ABBA (even I don't think I knew their names).... From that time I think that was a revelation for me, to hear so much musical and vocal perfection together with that dramatic c-minor sounding (not usual in the world of pop, but ABBA of course much more than just a pop group).... I think this song was my first meeting with the real Art, that music can be more than just the happy children's songs. Thank you ABBA to this first experience!
Its always extra intresting in a way to see other musicians react to ABBA...ABBA is,as far as Iam and many many others, the top level of music,as high as you can go musically. Their timelessness that makes them very popular and never dying even decades after they stopped performing as a band,is unrivaled. Even museums have been erected due to them. Its just unmatched and when you really dig into their music, you do understand why..
How nice to see you for first time, with ABBA songs and videos "Money money money" (1976) It's from the album "Arrival", with the lead voice of the brunette Frida (She has more brilliance in this album) "Money money money" was the single that had the responsibility of succeeding the super hit "Dancing Queen"; it was #1 in several countries, in England it was #3 ABBA always bet not to repeat itself and to contrasts, this is an example The song is in the style of cabaret, it lends itself very well to Frida's low-pitched voice, and the backing vocals are very catchy The video is very good, it is the first different from ABBA, it alternates images of the 'jet set' with the four premiering their iconic kimono suits For a new reaction I suggest: "S.O.S." (1975) it was the second worldwide hit to ABBA, that return ABBA to the Charts specialy in UK and US, after their first worldwide hit "Waterloo" "S.O.S." has a great melody at piano and the lead voice of the blonde singer Agnetha and I think that You enjoy this I wish You a great week My best regards to You from Buenos Aires, Argentina
@@thegoldschoolsoul6921 The point with the video to me is the only one who has a happy moment (in the car actually) is Frida, because she imagines being happy. But everything else is very stern as if money doesn't give you happiness but more fear and distance from others. And the music descends into this chorus that seems to really pound it's power at the listener. One of their most acclaimed songs musically is The Name of the Game. It has two videos - the official one and the clip from ABBA The Movie.
So true, he's great on One Of Us. When you saw him on stage he was an unassuming average dude but his fingers were weaving magic and held so many songs together! ❤️
ABBA took the lead on all their music, instruments were theirs that they, Benny and Bjorn played, the instruments played in the back round were the background musians only!
There is not at all any empty space in the arrangement. All the tricky woven rhythms by piano, bass and the electric guitar. Thanks for Your profound reaction.
I grew up on these guys. Great song , that bass is sick ! I was a kid in Australia in the 70s, and they were massive superstars then there. I had ABBA T-SHIRTS ,ABBA posters in my room, everything. As a boy I had a huge crush on Agnetha . I was in love with her. She was my angel ! No I'm 49 years old , live in Europe . Still in love with her big time !!!!!! Great videos , do some more ABBA songs please , bye, bye !!!
I Still Have Faith in You- their NEW SONG just released on Friday. You have a unique style so nice to hear something different! I like the musician angle.
you're the first person i've seen acknowledge this amazing bass player. i think he is the most underrated bassist of all time, he is such a weirdo and i love how he plays around everything. he really understands what hes doing
Like many of Björn's lyrics, I feel that this song is intended as a warning about materialism, there is no resolution really, only escalation. Frida is dressed unnaturally and a la mode according to the intention of the song. It's not to promote monetary/material wealth seeking, but anything else said about it in song would come off as preachy. It is what is it is, if you draw upon this as a promotion for wealth seeking in the physical and monetary sense, I think you're missing out on a broader meaning which also encompasses the money/power dynamic. Provocative, and theatrical delivery of , what is really more of a question, than an answer.
Wow, thanks. If you start to react to ABBA you can never stop. Welcome to the ABBA rabbit hole...Next ones please: SOS (live!), Knowing me Knowing you, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Ome of us .....

As a teen..listening to their tunes, over and over . Then decades later hearing that magic through new ears and experiences. Your observations about chord changes and lyrics are so introspective and enlightening. Thanks! Music is indeed...a language unto itself.

I think you did a great job reacting to ABBA's Money, Money, Money! The sound and image of your video are very good (that doesn't count for all reacting vids I see on YT) and you don't pause every 5 secs. Tnx for that! I agree, Money, Money, Money is a fantastic captivating song. I would recommend to react to The Name Of The Game and/or Our Last Summer next time.
Great n classic song.. Also Fernando, Chiquita,Dancing Queen...easy listening.. When I was a child i heard these songs n often played on d radio in program 70s n 80s memorial songs.

Well, that was amazing. Always hearing them on the radio as I grew up in Sweden , finding them very irritating. i needed Sex Pistols and Joy Division more in my life back then. ABBA are fuckin' brilliant. Great reaction.
Funny how people differ. I loved ABBA in the 70's. Was sad to see them split. I also loved disco but that also died around the same. I hated punk, post punk, new wave and the synth heavy 80's stuff. The only saving grace were rock bands like Bon Jovi, U2 etc

Since you seem to be enamored with this song by ABBA, might I suggest a metal version done by Swedish band Reinxeed. Singer Tommy Johansson;s voice is sick in this one. Reinxeed morphed into Majestica, and Tommy plays with Swedish band Sabaton, along with all of the brilliant covers Tommy's done.

Frida really rocks that hat!
‘When All is said and Done’ is a musician’s dream. You have to hear and react to it.

Songs that you'll really appreciate as a musician, because of their complexity:
- The Name Of The Game
- I Let The Music Speak
- Hole In Your Soul
The Name of the Game should get more attention.
@@starry2006 I agree, it's a GREAT song that was really big in the 70's, but today it really doesn't get the attention that it deserves.

So many good ABBA songs.....i love "The Name of the Game".....& one of there later songs "The Visitors" rarely gets played but is awesome.
