To be honest, "Rivers of Babylon" was the only Boney M song I'd ever heard before this because the lyrics are mostly taken directly from two psalms (19 and 137 if I recall correctly).
Boney M.! Finally!🤩 Congratulations for picking them. I hope you‘ll dive deeper into their huge catalogue. Outside the USA they were massive and had tons of no. 1 hits all over the world in the 70s/80s.
Their Christmas album is one the very best! Their version of "Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord" was all over the radio during the 80's and 90's! That song is definitely worth a reaction, you'll love it!!
Disco music at its best. I think some people tend to forget how awesome the 70s were. UK here. Born in 1971. They were massive in UK. Just one of the incredible soundtracks to my single number years. I guarantee you are going to love Boney M. They were a manufactured group, but the tunes they did are some of the most funny, fun, frivolous, funky, dancey, get yo' ass on the dance floor tracks that will stay with you forever! Every UK person lights up when Boney M kicks in :D
What do you mean they were a manufactured group? You are looking for criticism. Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barret sang on all their hits numbers. Both in the studio and in live performances. The facts the ladies didn't write the songs doesn't mean that they were manufactured. Celine Dion doesn't write songs and has covered every minor and major songs done by other artistes to build her career and I still hear people praising her, calling her goddess of music. I don't hate Celine but she is over rated but unlike you i won't put her down in public by calling her manufactured. After all like the BoneyM girls, she can hold her notes in studio and outside.
@@Train-mo2rj it wasn't meant as negatively as you took it. I accept what you are saying. In my experience they are often referred to as a manufactured group. That isn't necessarily a criticism. Spice girls were the Monkees were and they were brilliant. Many are manufactured in that individual talents are brought together by another entity. Takes nothing away from their individual talent.
@@lmp9256 that word "manufactured" when applied here is a big negative criticism. It means concocted and a lack of natural originality. Liz Mitchell sang all the songs she might have lip-synched over. Does that make her not a singer? Michael Jackson did a lip-synch on the Billie Jean 25th motown anniversary performance. Does that mean he was manufactured? I'm irritated when I see people who don't give these two ladies in BoneyM their due credits for singing on all their BoneyM records and albums. People with their unsolicited too much information are the first to say ah... they are manufactured. ... ah.... they were lip synching group, ah... they were from Jamaica not from Germany or Britain as if Jamaicans can't rise to the top in music industry. Their producer Frank Friana is the devil. Hs controlled and exploited Liz and Marcia that after the band broke up he stopped giving them royalties. Shamelessly feeding himself out of the sweat of 2 black incredible singers in their youths and heyday. He controlled Eruption band, all members were black, he controlled Milli Vanilli, 2 black guys. He would tell the press, oh... I didn't allow those guys to sing on the albums because their voices were not good whereas he is doing all that to keep the money all to himself and pay them pittance. If someone's image is going to sell your products, it's expected that they will be well enumerated. That German producer is nothing but a modern day black slave master.
Dudes! Boney M rule! While America was organising "disco sucks" events, in Europe the war was over already, and the winners were singing Brown Girl In The Ring and Mary's Boy Child. The legwork in this is based on Russian dancing, which soldiers would do, and the stamina required is beyond insane. From floor to upright and back every beat. We all tried it as kids. We all failed.
Great dance group. The guy jumping around is named Roberto Alonso Farrell. Their other hits include: "Ma Baker", "Daddy Cool", "Gotta Go Home", "Rivers Off Babylon" and a fantastic remake of Bob Marley's classic, "No Woman, No Cry".
I'm glad someone mentioned their OTHER hits... They really were BIG around the world and especially here in the UK. But I also see others from Australia, Canada, Germany etc. saying how much they were 'into' Boney 'M'. Any DJ who wanted to get people up to dance, just popped a 'BM' on the turntable and knew it would be an instant 'floor filler'. 😃
When I was a kid (in the UK), my dad used to call me Rasputin when I got up to no good. He was basically a rogue and a philanderer among Russian society.
Daddy Cool and Rivers of Babylon are other great tracks from Boney M! This is my favourite though. The production of the strings is very good with the disco beats.
When you get closer to Christmas you really need to react to their version of "Mary's Boy Child". It is a great version of a calypso Christmas Carol first released by Harry Belafonte in the 1950's.
This song is from 1978/9. Growing up in Germany, I was aware of and listened to Boney M. They are the BOMB! Most folk here in the US are late to the fight re: Boney M., and it's good they're finally getting to get acquainted with them!
We Liverpool fans in the 1970s used this Boney M tune and sang " We are Liverpool tra,la la la la,the best football team in the land yes we are! " in reference to their hit song " Brown Girl "
This is probably one of my favourite reactions from you guys! You had a lot thrown at you all at once, but you did a great job of picking out a few things in the song. Glad you had fun with it!
You have embarked on the adventure of BONEY M!!! Their Christmas Album is iconic!!! You NEED to have more than one Christmas song of theirs featured in December!
It is amazing that you found this! Boney M was never really big in the U.S.A. But anyone who was in Europe in the late 70's -early 80's knows them. They were played in all the discos then. They have a lot of great songs and a very strange history to the band itself.
I'm Canadian and loved Boney M back in the day. Had a couple of their albums too. I was barely a teen but Rasputin and By the Rivers of Babylon were played at school dances. I assume it was in the clubs here as well.
Mud were also incredibly popular over here, but I don't think they were known in the US. They have so many great tracks worth reacting to - Tiger Feet, Rocket, Dyna-mite, The Cat Crept In, and for Christmas, how about It'll Be Lonely This Christmas.
Whenever I hear this song, I just think about those lazy days of the 70's when I was a kid. This song could be heard on the radio. Not "too" disco but just enough to remind us of the era. You nailed it Amber! The charm of this song is the story about Rasputin along with the catchy beat. I'm pretty sure Bony M did an iconic Xmas song that made radio play back in an era I wish I could go back to.
Boney M were massive in the UK. Listen to Ma Baker next, it's a banger about Ma Barker, an American matriarch of a crime clan. Another of their songs about real people/true events. Oh, and this video misses off the last part of the song, Bobby going "oh, those Russians!" So give the studio version a listen as well!
The "muh -muh-muh-MAAAAH" like below.....is exactly the same thing from "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga....I can't hear that song without thinking of Boney M
Fabian ist ein Genie. Die Komposition ist so outständing und doch inovativ wie man es nur träumen kann. Sie wird auch in 100 Jahren noch gehört werden.
OMG, I LOVE Boney M! I was born in 1971 and they had some incredible disco hits back in the day and even now, they're a band you can pob around the living room to. I think my favourite is Rasputin and Ma Baker. "Ma, ma, ma, maaaa.."
I was sitting in a bar in Mombasa, Kenya back in Feb. 77' & heard "Daddy Cool" for the first & only time until 2020 thanks to you tube. That song stuck in my head my whole life. I was drinking a Tuskers beer with an elephant on the label.
I had a running joke for a long time during my pub-life days. Whenever i got loaded enough, id hit up the Karaoke machine for some Boney M Rasputin. My buddies got a good laugh at my dance attempts the rest of the pub was confused.
OMG! YES! I havent heard this in ages. My parents had a Boney M Christmas cassett in the car every year around the holidays and we sang the heck out of those songs for at least two solid months of the year lol. But by far our favourite car ride song when on our way to visit family or what have you, was THIS song, Rasputin. Your reactions were HILARIOUS! Amber getting into it at about the 2:15 mark as the bass came through was gold! I will say you cut it a tiny bit short and didnt get to hear the "oh those Russians!" exclaimation at the end lol. That was always our favourite part as kids and we'd all just be waiting to say it the whole song 😅
Their Christmas song Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord is amazing and impossible not to sing along with. Per the many comments below, they have a bunch of great songs.
Like Milli Vanilli after them, Boney M were a distinctly Farian, smoke and mirrors construction: frontman Bobby Farrell, a Black Aruban dancer, lip-synced over other vocals, often Farian's, though the arrangement was met with little backlash when it became public knowledge in 1978.Jun
The fact that the back up singers actually sang their vocals (even if they sometimes lip synced to a backing track of their own vocals). Also Frank Fabian didn’t write or arrange their biggest hits might also be part of it. The group had a complicated history.
Rasputin is about the the true story of the Russian Royal family who not long before the 1st world war were all shot dead in the Russian Revolution. Their son was a hemopilliac meaning his blood didn't clot and if he started bleeding he could die. Rasputin was this very strange guy who was kind of like a preacher. He used to have loads of women in the court come to hear what he had to say. The Russian tsarina(Queen) was a big fan and beleived him when he said he was like a kind of faith healer and could help her son. He really couldn't help him but went along with it probably for the money. As she was seeing so much of him they felt she was having an affair so they wanted him dead. They put poison in his wine. But he was a strong guy and it didn't kill him. So in the end they shot him. And this song is one that every time I hear it it's stuck in my head for a few days as it's so catchy.
Boney M and ABBA were my favourite bands when I was a kid. They still have a very special place in my heart. I absolutely love the disco beat from back then.❤❤
Boney M has an amazing Christmas album inluding a cover of the 1950's song Mary's Boy Child, I play it over and over during the holidays. Love your channel guys!
I remember dancing to this and Ma Baker when i was about 7 years old, at my best friend's house. The memories. Boney M did have some great dance hits, very fun band.
It was 80 something! I had saved up and bought my first cassette player but had no tapes to play on it. My birthday was also around that time and I got Bony M! I got to know all the songs I was just so excited to have deck player! 😊
You do realize they were said to be the biggest HOAX in musical history. The actual singers didn`t have the right look, so it1s all lip-synced. Milli Vanilli went the same way.
Boney M sends me right back to childhood it's so nostaglic. Every Christmas we would travel up north to Cumbria and stay with family. 5 of us cousins of various ages would often get a record for Christmas and those would be played over and over. The year of Boney M it was so cold, the backstreets were full of freezing mist from the sea and the smell of coal from the fires. Inside the parents boozing and kids playing with new toys, everyone dancing.
WOW, sincere thanks for finally getting around to Boney M, and just in time for christmas being kiiiinda around the corner, lol. Mary's Boy... Rivers of Babylon... Hark The Herald... are certainly worthy selections. And if you fit in I Believe in Father Christmas, sung by Emerson, Lake & Palmer that would be sweet :) Loved this post with y'all!!
Oh boy so glad you're listening to Boney M! Like Abba a group from a lot of people's childhoods, it was my nan and grandad that introduced me to Boney M so this brings back a lot of great memories. Other great songs are Mary's boy child, Rivers of Babylon, Ma Baker, Brown girl in the ring so many great songs, just love them! 🥰
Of any song I've ever heard this song tells the story better than any other song about history.. It's historically accurate while being a bouncy tune. Rasputin is a very interesting historical figure. He held a lot of sway just before or around the time of the Russian Revolution.
Oh my gosh! The song ended before the final line intoned by Frank Farian in that really deep bass voice: “Oh those Russians!“ A wonderfu Christmas song for your Christmas playlist (that I hope you will react too in December) is “Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord”. Another favourite of mine is “By the Rivers of Babylon“. There are too many to mention. Growing up, in Jamaica and England during the 70s and 80s, this band‘s music was part of the soundtrack to my childhood😎
I think this was filmed at the Sopot Music Festival in Poland. At the time Poland was communist and the USSR had a lot of influence over the government. I think this song was banned in Poland and the USSR wasn't keen on it being broadcast. If that was the case, the band and the organisers had a lot of guts.
Boney M were a fantastic Disco band. They were huge in the late 70s. And they had quite a few hits back then. The fella doing the legwork was pi cked to be in the group especially for his dancing. He couldn't sing (he lipsynced), but like you said J, he had stamina. Sadly he's passed now, but again, they were a fantastic Disco band who's hits included "Daddy Cool" "Ma Baker" "Gotta Go Home" "Sunny" "Brown Girl In The Ring" "Belfast" "By The Rivers Of Babylon"
This was a huge hit in my small town Canadian high school. Part of gym class involved large group dancing, and this was one of the most popular songs for it :) 🇨🇦
The Boney M. Christmas album has been part of our family Christmases since its release. It was a great unifier for all the generations in our mixed ethnicity crew. Keep it in mind for your holiday videos!
I know Boney M has done a ton of stuff, but I really know them for this and their Christmas record. I love that Christmas record and listening to Boney M at Christmas time
This song actually teaches some very important history & still impacts everything happening on this planet still today. His bloodline still rules this planet.
How cooool! 😃 Boney M and ABBA had been my two first favourite groups when I was 8 years old, in '78, and this song was included on the then-brandnew 'Nightflight To Venus' cassette tape my Big Sister had gotten for her birthday that year; Me, my siblings and a bunch of friends from the neighbourhood had our own clubhouse, in which we'd also have a little stage on which we'd mime to that Boney M tape while playing on cardboard guitars and paint-bucket drums. Great memories! 😁 And quite funny: There was a cover version of Neil Young's 'Heart Of Gold' on that Boney M album, and for many years I had believed it was their original 😅
Boney M were at big as ABBA in the 1970s, as far as the UK was concerned. I'm amazed that it took this long to get to them! You have yet to get to so many great huge artists that dominated the UK music scene! Frankie Goes to Hollywood utterly dominated the mid 80s. Adam and the Ants dominated the early 80s. There there's Julian Cope, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, the Boomtown Rats...
Hot Chocolate were awesome and definitely worth reacting to - Everyone's a winner, You sexy thing, So you win again. Fantastic days, fantastic music. RIP Errol Brown.
The Dancer Bobby Farrell never sang on the groups records, he was there just to dance, Frank Farian sang the male parts. Bobby Farrell died in 2010 of heart failure, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, the same city as Rasputin and on the same date 30th December.
A black Dutch immigrant performing in English with Jamaican background singers in a German production about a Russian historical figure, dressed in funky arab clothing... something tells me this couldn't be done nowadays. Cherish it while it's still on YT
@@danieln6700 That's why I said 'performing' 🙂 I had the pleasure to see him live somewhere in the nineties. He was singing then, but not much. The dance moves though, were top notch.
Many others have mentioned their other hits (and huge impact) but I'd genuinely suggest you check out "Rivers of Babylon' which was their breakthrough smash-hit that launched them. It gives you that starting point to understand the change and trajectory. Also, for reference, most acts didn't do a lot of dancing, at least not like this. This was before Michael Jackson brought Moonwalking to the public (Michael was still that sweet little boy in the Jackson 5 at the time) so the huge dance energy that Bobby Farrell brought to the stage was incredible, with only something like Kate Bush's incredible interpretive dance to 'Wuthering Heights' to compare it to. All the other acts just tended to step in time (The Temptations, The Pips, The Shadows) or shuffle to the beat.
I thought maybe I had heard it, but I was wrong! Definitely interesting, both in song and visuals! Nice history lesson from @amandapenrose49! ❤ Love your reactions Jay and Amber, look forward every day!❤️👏👏
There was alot of mention about the leg moves, but I realized after my second watching after many years that he never did the classic Russian "squat" dance moves.
OMG I love this band!! Their Christmas album is an absolute must every Christmas Eve at my parents where family gathers. In fact, they still tour (one of the original female singers brings her daughter I believe or niece as one of the singers ) every December and I hope to see them this year in my area of Atlantic Canada. My sister and parents saw them last year so my daughter and I plan to go this year. They had a blast and the band goes through their biggest hits and Christmas hits also. It's awesome to be able to cherish these classic bands while we still can. I Iove your channel! It's nice to see you both so passionate about music . ❤️
Great reaction guys!! Boney M were a constant in my house - played this album (Nightflight To Venus) on 8-track ALL THE TIME! The opening title track is a trippy space voyage which segues right into this track! The rest of the album is fantastic as well. Check out: Rivers Of Babylon, He Was a Steppenwolf, Painter Man and they did a wonderful cover of Neil Young's Heart Of Gold. This was/is a dance floor filler - can't help but going crazy to this one! When it comes to the Christmas season - I suggest doing a few tracks from this band! Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord is a great start. When I Child Is Born, Drummer Boy are also essential.

They were a manufactured group, but the tunes they did are some of the most funny, fun, frivolous, funky, dancey, get yo' ass on the dance floor tracks that will stay with you forever! Every UK person lights up when Boney M kicks in :D
He's right 👆🏻 born 84 but still Boney M was a staple of my childhood also 🇬🇧
What do you mean they were a manufactured group?
Also born in '71, I second this for Germany... 🙂
Yep this was the time of the "Disco Sucks" movement in the USA
Great dance group. The guy jumping around is named Roberto Alonso Farrell. Their other hits include:
"Ma Baker", "Daddy Cool", "Gotta Go Home", "Rivers Off Babylon" and a fantastic remake of Bob Marley's classic, "No Woman, No Cry".
Thought he was hired not to sing but lip sync never sang a thing just used voice changer,
"Rivers of Babylon" was a cover of a song by Brent Dowe and Trevor McNaughton (The Melodians), based on Psalm 137:1-4 and 19:14.
Daddy Cool hits the spot for me.
Jay would love the bass on Daddy Cool.
The fact that it has most views compared to other recent songs you guys reacted ...shows how much popular this group was and still is...Boney M is gem
Brown Girl in the Ring is one of Boney M's best, along with Rivers of Babylon.
We Liverpool fans in the 1970s used this Boney M tune and sang " We are Liverpool tra,la la la la,the best football team in the land yes we are! " in reference to their hit song " Brown Girl "
Their versions were both covers but they were kind of fun. It goes to show how much influence the Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett had in Boney M.
I seem to remember that those songs were part of a double A side single, as they were, generally, played together at discos.
This is probably one of my favourite reactions from you guys! You had a lot thrown at you all at once, but you did a great job of picking out a few things in the song. Glad you had fun with it!
except they, like some other reviewers cut off the part that says” oh those Russians!”
Very musically underrated. "Nightflight to Venus" is an incredible album, start to finish.
It trails off and directly flows into the start of Rasputin.
But weren't they a fake group like Millie Vinelli?
I totally agree! I'd first heard it in '78 and still love it today 😊
i bought some vinyl over the internet and this album was just added for free to my buy.. fantastic surprise
@@AutomanicJack - Very cool! 😃👍 What were your other purchases, if I may ask?
Oh, it's from SOPOT 1979 International song festival in Sopot, Poland! Greetings from Poland!
You have embarked on the adventure of BONEY M!!! Their Christmas Album is iconic!!! You NEED to have more than one Christmas song of theirs featured in December!
the most under rated 70s band in history. Perfection. You gotta do more!!
It is amazing that you found this! Boney M was never really big in the U.S.A. But anyone who was in Europe in the late 70's -early 80's knows them. They were played in all the discos then. They have a lot of great songs and a very strange history to the band itself.
Very popular in Australia too!
I'm Canadian and loved Boney M back in the day. Had a couple of their albums too.
I was barely a teen but Rasputin and By the Rivers of Babylon were played at school dances. I assume it was in the clubs here as well.
@@incensejunkie7516 If I ask any american about this group, they have no idea who you are talking about.
Amazing what drugs can do.
Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord was their Xmas 1978 single and was UK number one for 4 weeks.
Ma Baker was my second favourite, after 'Rasputin!' 🎶 "Muh-muh-muh-MAAAAAH! Ma Baker, she taught her poor sons...!" 🎶
Boney M has some bangers. There's a cool dance to learn with this song too
OMG, I LOVE Boney M! I was born in 1971 and they had some incredible disco hits back in the day and even now, they're a band you can pob around the living room to.
I think my favourite is Rasputin and Ma Baker. "Ma, ma, ma, maaaa.."
So do I! I was born in 1971, too!
😂 so true ✊
👍🏴
Mary's boy child /oh my lord for Xmas is great
Their Christmas song Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord is amazing and impossible not to sing along with. Per the many comments below, they have a bunch of great songs.
I had a Boney M tape while taking part in Desert Storm. I played "Rivers of Baby, lon every morning to wake them up.
Boney M's music was musically multilayred and deep despite the "Fun" Disco format. Listening to them on headphones is a real treat.
Bobby Farrell actually died on the same day (Dec 30) and in the same city (St Petersburg) as Rasputin.
They were killed in July 1918, months before the END of the Great War in November of 1918.
Most probably killed by British intelligence in order to stop him from promoting the end to Russia's involvement in Wwi.
Boney M and ABBA were my favourite bands when I was a kid. They still have a very special place in my heart.
I absolutely love the disco beat from back then.❤❤
Their "Mary's Boy Child" is the best Christmas song.
First time I heard this song was in college during a just dance session on the Nintendo Wii. One of my class mates scored a perfect to this song.
The ending was cut off...he says "oh those Russians". Great reaction!
The best part!
It was 80 something! I had saved up and bought my first cassette player but had no tapes to play on it. My birthday was also around that time and I got Bony M! I got to know all the songs I was just so excited to have deck player! 😊
No... definitely late 1970’s
As others have mentioned here, their Christmas music is truly beautiful.
"they" were a lip synch group...sorry
You do realize they were said to be the biggest HOAX in musical history. The actual singers didn`t have the right look, so it1s all lip-synced. Milli Vanilli went the same way.
@@davexenos9196 no. I wasn’t aware. I’ve always known about Milli Vanilli. Thanks for the info 🧡
@@waterfallhunter634 yes thankyou I see that now. 🧡
@@waterfallhunter634 some of them did sing but Bobby Ferral definitely didn't that was Frank Farian.
Watching Amber earnestly jam out to this entire thing absolutely MADE MY NIGHT. Thank you!
this was my mom's favorite band back in the day. Both rhythmic and melodic
WOW, sincere thanks for finally getting around to Boney M, and just in time for christmas being kiiiinda around the corner, lol. Mary's Boy... Rivers of Babylon... Hark The Herald... are certainly worthy selections.
And if you fit in I Believe in Father Christmas, sung by Emerson, Lake & Palmer that would be sweet :)
Loved this post with y'all!!
Oh my gosh! The song ended before the final line intoned by Frank Farian in that really deep bass voice: “Oh those Russians!“
A wonderfu Christmas song for your Christmas playlist (that I hope you will react too in December) is “Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord”. Another favourite of mine is “By the Rivers of Babylon“. There are too many to mention. Growing up, in Jamaica and England during the 70s and 80s, this band‘s music was part of the soundtrack to my childhood😎
I absolutely love this group.
They were something else. Amber's early reaction was true focus...then into the moves. So great. You are both special ❤
Thank you for another great reaction. They have a really good Christmas 🎄 album I love their version of little drummer boy.
I wish their version got airtime on the radio!

This song totally gives a broadway musical vibe! I could totally see this as a hit song in a very popular musical. So fun!
I know Boney M has done a ton of stuff, but I really know them for this and their Christmas record. I love that Christmas record and listening to Boney M at Christmas time
This song actually teaches some very important history & still impacts everything happening on this planet still today. His bloodline still rules this planet.
Can you please play Level 42, Something about you is fire, Jay will love the bass ❤❤❤
I'm so glad you did this one. I've always loved this song!
Definitely check out “Rivers of Babylon” and “Mary’s Boy Child/Oh my Lord”. You’ll love them. So glad you checked them out! You guys are awesome!❤
"Daddy Cool", "Ma Baker", "Sunny", "Rivers of Babylon", "Gotta Go Home" are a must!!! They're all beautiful.
You really ought to check out Hot Chocolate and their song Every1s A Winner. It was out at a similar time. It's magic. 👍
And Confetti Day!
Hot Chocolate were awesome and definitely worth reacting to - Everyone's a winner, You sexy thing, So you win again.
Fantastic days, fantastic music.
RIP Errol Brown.
@@craigs3007 They are all brilliant songs Craig, well said. 👍
From dies festival (sopot 1979) is "ma backer "my favorit for instrumental and song is very good
J's face when this started 😂😂😂😂😂
The Dancer Bobby Farrell never sang on the groups records, he was there just to dance, Frank Farian sang the male parts. Bobby Farrell died in 2010 of heart failure, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, the same city as Rasputin and on the same date 30th December.
A black Dutch immigrant performing in English with Jamaican background singers in a German production about a Russian historical figure, dressed in funky arab clothing...
something tells me this couldn't be done nowadays. Cherish it while it's still on YT
He's not actually singing
@@danieln6700 That's why I said 'performing' 🙂
I had the pleasure to see him live somewhere in the nineties. He was singing then, but not much. The dance moves though, were top notch.
We always got up on the dance floor when this song came on! Disco era!
Ol' Boney had the best blow Colombia had to offer.😂
Since you mentioned Falco's Amadeus, you should really play his original Der Kommissar and Vienna Calling.
Any mention of Vienna always makes me think of Ultravox 🙂
oh...it means nothing to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee@@craigs3007
big hit 1978...and many more hits from this band.....had mostly collection of tape and lp in the disco era...never bought entire band lp
I thought maybe I had heard it, but I was wrong! Definitely interesting, both in song and visuals! Nice history lesson from @amandapenrose49! ❤
Love your reactions Jay and Amber, look forward every day!❤️👏👏
There was alot of mention about the leg moves, but I realized after my second watching after many years that he never did the classic Russian "squat" dance moves.
Ahh, the original Milli Vanilli. I was blown away when I figured out its all just lipsinking and basically fake. Good entertainers, yes, but not real.
At least Boney M. was half real. A couple of the women sang on the studio versions and the tracks they lip synced to.
-wow !-
@@sunnystormy4973 I mean I'm not saying they aren't entertaining, but that isn't a legit musical group.
Late 70's early 80's the had some hits here in Australia I think they even did an unifocal anthem for the 1980 Moscow Olympics
You should react to Boney M - Daddy Cool 😁
Ohh those Russians
Those f'king Russians 😂
Rip bobby,
He lived his last days in Almere, the Netherlands, he had a hard time making ends meet, the industry left him with almost nothing. Such a sweet man with such a unique dancing vibe.
Thanks for the memories ❤❤❤.
Lyricswise Rasputin and Ma Baker are amazing. Love the way they tell the story.
I am 50 years old, I was a kid when disco was in its sunset, but oh man did I LOVE Boney M music.... they are special
I was once on the same flight to Madrid as Bobby Farrell. He was kind, generous and engaging. It was quite a flight.
Thanks for reacting to this one. One of my favourites from way back when. I used to have the extended mix on vinyl and the drum solo at the beginning went on for about 3 minutes
great timing. My mom was visiting from out of town and this is her favourite teenage years song. She got a kick out your reaction.
thank you guys for reacting on Boney M this guys were insane all their music from the disco era were huge and their music totally iconic and legendary i mean the list of their songs are huge
Two of their singles, Rivers Of Babylon and Mary's Boy Child were the 2nd and 4th biggest selling singles of the 70's in the UK.
Robb Squad this is great! Regularly your videos take me back to when I was in Junior High. You guys are great! Rasputin has a great story, I hope you get a chance to read about this awesome story!
It's not Christmas until you hear the Boney M Christmas songs! Especially Mary's Boy Child and Little Drummer Boy. You gotta check those out this Christmas.
