Man, so do I! Honestly can’t complain at all as it’s been such a blessing to get on so many fish I’d only dreamt of until this point. It’s all worth the wait
I don’t really go by weight I kinda just go by feel. Best way I can describe it is that it’s tight enough to successfully set the hook, but loose enough that if a big fish wants to go on a run, it can. A good buddy of mine (Gary) actually keeps the drag fairly tight to start for when he sets the hook. But as soon as he sets the hook, he backs off the drag. Interesting method that I’m leaning toward trying.
That must have been a "honey hole!" I've never heard of anyone doing that well, that's a very special spot!!! Most likely a spot not hardly fished that they came up on.
There was a week long period back in June where the waters were beautifully dead in our coast. It’s a matter of fishing often and you’ll eventually come across perfect conditions.
Nice sesh…to get the Zman onto a twist lock heat the twist up with a lighter and gentle screw it in and let it cool down while still holding it in place, then drop of super glue into the hole. Youll get the feel of it, not to hot and the right twist in light pressure. Peace slow roller 😉
That’s actually a great piece of advice! My only beef there is the fact that it’s such a pain to have to try and do that after a fish bites your lure off which is why I’ve been loving the biospawns.
It’s in California. I won’t be disclosing any specifics on where in Cali, but you can catch seabass at many many beaches in Cali…. So Cal > Nor Cal for seabass though😉

What beach is this?
Unfortunately I can’t disclose this. Take the methods, use them, have success and you’ll do just fine.
When someone says tighten the drag, DO NOT! Pretty much guarantees you will lose the fish.
For sure
I can't even imagine how I would begin to target wsb from the surf. definitely checking out that link
It’s a grind worth grinding
How much drag do you have set on the reel?
