Another really fun episode. Amazing footy and editing. Man, I was cheesin' when I saw how happy you were, holding that big stiped bass. Way to go Ed! Happy Birthday Bob!
Great video Edward! Love all the knowledge. Your channel really helped inspired me to take a deeper look into successful surf fishing techniques. Thank you for doing what you do and sharing your wisdom 🎣❤🤙
Happy birthday Bob! Amazing information on this one Edward. So we’ll done! I like the new camera angle you were using while walking around in this video.
Awesome video man I just got the battlestar 115 in glow cherry chovy for my birthday,I’ve been fishing the 805 for the majority of my life but have never ventured out and tried surf fishing.stoked to give it a try and was wondering if you had any more advice on beaches and/or what conditions are optimal for that color way.keep it up man badass video 🙌🏻🤙🏼
I like the caveat about the higher chance of catching something....cause we all know you could catch anything on anything if enough luck was on your side. My PB smallmouth bass was on a 1 gram jig with a trout magnet 😅
If the anchovies are around, they typically stay in the upper water column, and the fish acclimate to looking up while feeding on them, maybe it's why the shallower Calissa out produced the Battlestar? Great day in the surf...
I went fishing yesterday with my son at the surf and tried that callista top water lure and got frustrated and tired trying to work it, reel in, and then cast again. Are you using this when it's low tide because I probably have less than a min or so before the lure gets reeled in and no bite. We had multiple bait options to choose from and we were targeting surf perch. We did get some bites yesterday and brought home 4 jacksmelts and they were hitting the ghost shrimps pretty hard. Fake Berkley sandworms did nothing, nor did squid. No perch were biting which I found quite odd and of course Striped bass were not present as well. We did have a good time and this was my first time back fishing in my dad's secret fishing hole in more than 24 years. Same place where I also got my 23 in striper 23 years ago. I can't tell exactly where we went but it's on the Monterey Bay between Monterey and Santa Cruz.
I’m not sure if you respond but I’m not super rich or anything so I can just get a bunch of them but if you had to pick lure of the 110, which one would you get for everything?
The more empirical knowledge we acquire, the more predictable our trips to the beach become, defined as "Empirical probability". Thanks for sharing, Ed
@@Hook2Cook thank you~ sorry for more questions, and is fully seal is really that great? so the sand that got in can get washed out completely without any grinding in the reel? Most of the other reels that claimed to be sealed I still see the seam at the bottom, if sand got in from the bottom ring, I really found no way to get the sand out unless disassembling the reel itself?

15”. You can zoom in
I noticed he measured from the 1" mark also. 🙂
Crap! just noticed I did start at the 14”

Grew up in Virginia on the Chesapeake bay. I've caught many stripers there, I would love to catch some pacific stripers.

What’s recommended set up for night fishing 5pm-12am
Thanks for the info bro. I’m taken note so I’ll be ready next time I’m out ur way.

Agreed
What beach are you at?

Nice fish brotha!
What size line and brand do you suggest?
The purple one will work good at night when there's a full moon. I used to use an all black bomber. It silhouettes well
@@anthonykrische4425 agreed. Silhouette is often overlooked.
where is the best place for surf fishing (stripe bass/ perch) in Norther California (north bay area)
Wave power 350? We're at 39100 today in OR!
Does the lure or the crappie slider works in the night?

Calissa 110 sardine glow

Love this!
What about the weight of your lures??
Ok i know im a toy but its insane youre catching both perch and stripers on the same dang lure
Where are you fishing at?
Are all those free apps?
Happy late birthday bob 🎉
how far are you casting out...how far will that lure go ?
@@smokin2000 roughly 30 yards average in good conditions

How could you rest your rod on the sand without ruining it?
the reel is a Van Staal VR75. Fully sealed and meant for torture. Just dunk the whole setup to get the sand off.

Wish socal was this good for fishing
Do any of your buddies have an Android phone? Ocean Watch is Apple only...
Match the hatch baby!
That’s it!
You ever fish at high tide and outgoing tide?
Yes but ideally no. Structure starts getting closer and closing off the pockets
Nice videos 👍👍👍💪💪💪😂
I called it as a 30 in
LFG 💪💪
I know y’all have stickbait emphasis. But ever use zman white baits? That’s the go to even over hookup bait
White bait?
