      Wieso dafür ein Tutorial? Mach einfach ein Objekt und texturiere es genauso wie die Eben in diesem Tutorial :)
      Wenn es nicht richtig aussieht, dann versuche verschiedene Mappings. Für Cube z.B. cubic mapping, Kugel - spherical mapping...
      Ich hab JSplacement auch auf meinem Scifi Building angewandt.

      Nikolaus Schatz Thanks :)
      I knew this method, but thought there perhaps were other methods as well. Something similar (but not really) can be done with falloffmap under octane effects.

    • @nikomedia
      @nikomedia  6 років тому

      Of course you can do it with the falloff too. The same like I showed it for the physical renderer ;)

    • @jenspoontangbacon7090
      @jenspoontangbacon7090 6 років тому

      Nikolaus Schatz I actually tried with a native falloff shader, and that did not work. But the Octane falloffmap did, after fiddling a bit. But thanks again, you're doing a great job with the tutorials :)
      Personally I would love to see one on landscapes, boulders, rocks etc and texturing, especially Octane. It always seems so fiddly and random.... If you ever find yourself in need of something to do, haha.

    • @nikomedia

    How big is the difference between a normal studio version and a student version, since my render preview looks really shitty and I don´t know why. It seems piexelated and very low res...

    • @nikomedia
      @nikomedia  6 років тому

      You are welcome!
      I can not really say how big is the difference, but in the render quality there should not be any difference. It's all about textures, lighting and render settings.
      The major difference, as far as I know, is, that you are not allowed to use the student version for commercial work and many plugins don't work with the stunden version.
      For a preview render it should be enough to use the physical renderer and the preset fixed (at about 1), or progressive. So you should get always a usable preview quality.
      Hope that helps a little bit.

      Mit dem Terrain Mask Shader (Ich weiß jetzt leider nicht wie der auf Deutsch heißt. Wahrscheinlich irgendwas mit Landschaft ;) ) funktioniert das ganz gut. Mit minimum gibst Du an ab welcher Höhe eingefärbt werden soll. Einfach mal bei Null beginnen und dann schrittweise rauf, oder runter gehen.
