i cant tell if the trainer is good or bad.
One reason for the sharpness of the dual tone versions is partially the Ano, but it has more to do with finishing. You can bead blast and tumble regular handles, but you can't do that to a handle after it's been anodized! So the milling that creates the dual tone cannot be finished in the same way with bead blasting and stuff.

I believe yours is a unique video experience and I have not seen live blade compared to the krake trainer ever before making yours an incredibly valuable opinion
That was the goal with this video! No one needs to be told that the Kraken is good, but the little differences between all of the variations hasn't been highlighted very well
You should try zippy handle caps on your krt, makes it sound much better
And make it even more handle biased than it already is 😅

Here's my review. It's 95% the same balisong, jimping doesn't do anything meaningful and carbon scales are better than g10, still don't like it

@@camaroEE in ur video u said it flipped great and the only problem u had was the tolerance. in version 2 they claim to have fixed the tolerance issue. so im confused y u still dont like it.

So I got the tanto because I want to edc this.
I'm not the greatest at flipping but I got 3 tricks down so far with the bar fly I have.
I feel if I carry this 24/7 I will get much better over time.
A couple of my knives have tanto and I love the blade shape on the kraken.

Lets gooo, love your content man. Thinking of making balisong content myself. I'd enjoy seeing reviews on balisongs that are a little more obscure like certain atropos variants, amazon stuff, or even just joke reviews like the spoon/fork balisong (like the wiha review). Beyond that, there's a void in the community for skits and things besides reviews like balisong police. Anyway, I'm just spit balling, been out of the community for a while and I'm dipping my toe back in to see what's happening and with your videos it seems quite promising.

The best way to do it!
I've noticed that the ring in the Krake Raken trainer is greatly reduced simply by adding lube. It becomes muted, and actually makes it sound very nice.
So I've got several clone krakens, 2 authentics being a live and trainer but ive also got an hourglass trainer blade for my real trainer. love the kraken, but have never loved it more up until i finally got my tanto live blade version. it finally made it feel perfect to me, the trainer feels great don't get me wrong but the tanto is the secret sauce, personally. I liked the tanto enough that I wanted to flip with the same feeling but no risk so I had to double down for the hourglass trainer. feels like the live tanto, but there's a tiny bit more of a handle gap on the hourglass but I'd totally recommend it if you want to feel like you're flipping a real kraken with a trainer blade

If you have a 3d printer you can print a silencer that goes into the long hole in the blade it works a lot better than tape for me
I've got a blem'd pink Hourglass bladed Kraken sitting in loctite jail atm. Hoping that should get rid of the ring.
Krakens are like crack. I think this is my 6th one....
The hourglass blade doesn't have the annoying ring to it

I've been flipping th vulp and I really enjoy it, I find I like the light weight. How does the nautilus compare to the vulp? Cause I know it's around the same weight

If the one thing that bothers you about the trainer variant is the balance than try the balance insert mod from zippy balisong it also silences the ring
My dual tone kraken is getting dirty right in the silver parts. Any tips for cleaning it would be great
I haven't found a great method honestly, try q-tips with some sort of cleaner on them
damn bro, u really dont like teh nautilus? ive been debating on getting either the krake raken or the nautilus and i was actually leaning toward the naut cuz im obsessed with the look. is the kraken actually better? i like that the naut is lighter.

please help, would love your feedback, i just got into flipping this week. and im so into it, i want to order a new bali. im debating on the krake raken and the squid trainer. ppl hate the blade on the krake raken, vs the squidtrainer ppl want it to be on bushings instead off washers and have jimping, soooo idk what to get. i def would pref a more handle bias as well. also the squidtrainer is out of stock at the moment on their website. would love some feedback and opinions. thanks guys.
The Kraken trainer has quite a bit of handle bias, so just based off of that I think you'd like the Kraken quite a bit more
I remember when squid indusrties created their first trainer the ring was very popular and wanted the ones with the ring. Now people don’t like that it seems like.
I taped that kraken trainer up too when I had it, removed it for you lol but the ring is absolutely awful.
Like I said in the video, it gave me a splitting headache

How do these compare to benchmades balisongs?
Leaps and bounds better than Benchmade stuff IMO

The BM 85 is one of the best balisongs I’ve flipped second to machinewise/squid industries only. However, the price point on it is just not worth it. I still have one though, but I got it for $430 used.

about your dual-tone theory, i believe it’s wrong. if you look at squid’s dual-tone highlight on their instagram, you can see that there is already a cut out on the handle, so they don’t cut out the line after the anodization
That would mean they would have to mask off the line in the anodizing process which would add a lot to the cost

Not gonna lie I may be one of the few people who don't like the krake raken that much. It doesn't feel right in my hand. Just shows preference matters. I also don't feel the grip people talk about.

Well if you prefer a neutral balance and good fans are important for you, you should avoid the trainer
