I made this banana bread last night, and I can assure you, that it is the best banana bread recipe I have ever made. It is delicious and so moist and fluffy!!!!. It definitely was a win in my house, my husband and his daughter loved it. Thank you for the recipe John. And by the way, I printed out the recipe from your blog, and it does not have a step to add the yogurt and the vanilla, I just guessed it was supposed to be after adding the eggs. Thank you.
i just made this recipe and omg i’ve always had trust issues with recipes posted on youtube cause usually when i make them it doesn’t turn out good at all but this one this one is so so good!! super easy to make and it’s delicious!! so soft and moist! i recommend this recipe 100%
Made this today and every single person said it’s the best they’ve had, only thing I didn’t do it’s the coconut oil as I didn’t have it in my house, deffo recommend this beauty of a recipe!!
I love that tip about the banana with a brown sugar on top. It looks so pretty and it must be very tasty. I freeze my bananas when they are overripe until I have enough to make banana bread I have some thawing out right now. Your recipe came just in time. It's a chilly rainy day in New England and I'm going to turn on my oven and warm up my house
Hi, I came across your recipe yesterday and decided to try it today ( I make these regularly) . This was by far the moistest banana bread I’ve ever made. The touch of the sugared banana slices on top, HEAVENLY!!! The yogurt is what made the difference to the recipe I use which calls for 1 tbsp milk. I took the liberty of adding chocolate chips and increased the amount of flour to 2 cups. I also didn’t have nutmeg or all spice on hand and I honestly don’t think they were missed. A little tip for the fast ripening of the bananas if you want to save on time, is to microwave them for about 2-3 minutes on a dish with the peel on and you will get the same effect as putting them in the oven. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I made this recipe last night. It was delicious! I added cinnamon and a couple tablespoons of sour cream. The hack about ripening bananas was easy and perfect. My husband said this was the best banana bread I've ever made. Love your videos!
Can't wait to try this recipe. So far all of his recipes I've tried have worked out great for me. Following his directions I've made perfect Italian buttercream frosting several times. I have to admit I absolutely love the marshmallow frosting the most. The texture is divine. Love all the helpful tips too. Like how to bake a cake with a flat top. Love his energy.
I tried this recipe today and it turned out Fab! Moist bread like your title says. Honestly out of all the UA-cam recipes I’ve tried, yours always is the fool proof one! Love from India 💜
May 16 2021.. I actually just made this and took my first bite 10 min before posting this and I have to say, IT IS DELICIOUS! My family loves it too. Thank you for your great recipes!
Made it today and it’s the best banana bread recipe 👍👍. Made it with natural coconut palm sugar instead of granulated sugar. It really is super moist and so delicious. Thank you for the great recipe 👍😊.
I made this yesterday and everyone loves it! I don’t like sweets so sweet lol so I reduce the sugar to 2/3 cup and substitute yogurt with sour cream because I’ve some in the fridge and it turned out perfectly moist and fluffy!
My husband LOVES banana bread AND walnuts! He gets both in all banana bread I make for him.💕Thank you John for the tip for getting aged bananas in 10 minutes!! Sensational!! I love this recipe. I cook/bake with coconut oil
I just made this one for the third time, I’ve made it plain, with pecans, and now with shredded coconut. Every single time it has been spectacular. THANK YOU so much for this recipe.
I freeze over ripe bananas until I have sufficient for a recipe - so there's no need to throw out the odd black one! A sliced banana bread/cake is perfect in the freezer too as you can just take a slice when you want one - great for those of us who are single and without will power when it comes to cakes! The caramelised half banana on top looks really good, thanks for another brilliant tip!
seriously ive made this probably 10+ times and every single time im craving more. im about to make it again tomorrow. never fails me. thanks xx youre amazing!!!
I made this yesterday using self raising flour and brown sugar instead but turned out amazing and the caramelised bananas on top were such an awesome idea!
I've done this twice now, so I will leave my feedback. I used old ripe bananas both times. I decorated the first one as he does, about 3 months ago. I just pulled out my second bread. This time I subbed 1/4 cup cocoa powder for the flour. I split the dough (1 1/2 cups of the 1 3/4 total) into two bowls and added cocoa powder to one. Then made a marble effect while filling the loaf tin. We love this bread! Thank you so much, Mr. John! I follow you from Bolivia, South America. ☺
instead of yogurt you can make sour milk by adding about a teaspoon of white vinegar to 1/4 cup whole milk and mixing (let sit for a couple minutes to thicken). That's what my wife uses. She was not aware of the banana oven trick -she says she will be using that one.
I made banana bread today using your recipe. The bread turned out delicious and soft. I am new to baking, your recipes make my baked goods look professional and taste delicious. So happy I found you so is my husband.
Been baking for years and have never seen the banana bruleed on top of a loaf of banana bread- awesome! I buy extra bananas and let them go black, then peel and freeze them for baking, pudding, or ice cream! Also love to use sour cream and brown sugar in the loaf.
It is the best tasting. I followed your recipe. I only left out the allspice and cardomam. I added 3/4 tsp. nutmeg and the 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 extra banana and 2 c of flour , 1/2 tsp salt. It tastes like a yummy gingerbread without being really spicy.😋. The best banana bread I have ever tasted.
I made this and it turned out absolutely heavenly. Thank you so much for this recipe! I included whole wheat flour to make it just a little bit more healthy haha, not that it makes a huge difference. Had to add a little bit of water because the consistency of the batter with whole wheat was thick. I am in love with this recipe 💕
Hi, i am Maheera ten and a half, and i tried this banana bread recipe,it was wonderful, i made it as a gift fo my mother, she was amazed...thank you so much. She helped in putting and taking out of pot as we dont have oven in our new house yet. Thanks once again. Next i shall try brownies.
I had a few bananas that were going fast and your timing was perfect - loved the recipe and the bananas on top. I added some chocolate chips and it was one of the best banana breads I've had. Not too moist, just moist enough to enjoy without butter.
The blue stand mixer disappeared. I haven't made banana bread in forever, might have to try this! It's a classic, thank you so much for being awesome. A true icon! Your takes on stuff are really interesting, and I love the coconut oil!
I made this recipe with the bananas a couple months ago and the middle part turned out fine until a couple minutes later, the whole thing sank and when I it wasn’t fully baked under the bananas and it remained as batter. Not to mention I baked it for 65-70 minutes. Yesterday, I made it without the bananas and it turned out AMAZING.
I did the brown sugar with blueberry and added them to the top. Came out amazing. I just use to add the blueberries. I love banana/blueberries combinations. Oatmeal, smoothies and now banana bread blueberries.
Samuel Candelaria I like my banana bread to be substantial with oatmeal and large rolled oats as well as a couple of tablespoons of ground flaxseed too. I also roast my bananas for extra caramelisation.
@@sunburn1013 I had flax seeds and totally forgot to add them. I like the roasted banana idea. I do love a good banana fosters. Maybe a banana foster bead?

Seeing your video this morning I laughed because your the 1st person I check out when it comes to recipes! Can’t wait to make your banana bread 🍌 looks yummy! Great job as always 😊👍🏽💕

John, you are so adorable and I love your sense of humor! This is, of course, on top of your culinary expertise. You are such a talented and creative baker! I thought I had perfected my banana bread but now I HAVE to try the whole banana on top thing. Lol Keep your videos coming because I enjoy each and every one.

Im new to baking but so far i have tried 2 of your recipes,.and baked twice this tasty banana bread,.my family loved them,.😊,.incredible,.please continue making awesome recipes,.Godbless.
I have made this recipe 3 times now. The first time I didn't have the extra spices (only cinnamon). To make up for it, I added more cinnamon (about 2 dashes more from the container) and I LOVED IT. Literally my favorite. The 2nd time I made this, I had all the spices and it was "okay" for me. I felt like the added spices took away the sweetness and it was too "spicy" (not hot, but the spices overpowered the banana). The 3rd time I omitted the allspice, cardamom, and nutmeg, and fell in love all over!
Omg. I just made this. i’ve tried 3 different recipes on youtube, the taste of 3 of them are nahhhh but this one is the best. I used sour cream instead of yogurt cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg. I suggest you guys just use cinnamon and nutmeg, because the cardamom its abit strong taste for the bread. Overall. I’m so satisfied with this recipe. Thank you
@@BeeWhistler bit late, but you can do this: pour 3/4 of the batter in the tin (without the nuts) add just enough nuts to the rest of the batter left in the bowl pour it in the space left in the tin bake and enjoy everyone will be happy:) we do this every time at my house since my little sister hates raisins but we love them

hey there! I tried this recipe today, and instead of the coconut oil I added canola and it tasted absolutely delicious! Now I know whose recipes to go on!
Thank you so much for the tip about speed ripening the bananas. I've been making bananabread for a long time but often find myself searching for the brown bananas in the supermarket because mine weren't ready yet. Problem solved..... 👌 I use ginger powder instead of nutmeg and I always add pecans, chocolate chips and raisins. Yum.... nice video.
I made this for the second time last week and it was a huge hit! I took it out a few minutes too early, but we ate it anyway. My boyfriend bought more bananas and I think he's hoping I'll make another one. I love the mummy bananas on top!
Tried it and it's probably the best banana bread I have ever made. I tried at least three other recipes. Thanks for sharing! And thanks for your sense of humor :) makes baking even more fun.
Hey John I made this recipe twice and it was awesome. The second time I add in 2/4 cups of white sugar and 1/4 brown sugar. The molasses in the brown sugar takes the flavor to another level😋😋.... Thanks for sharing your recipe. My family thinks am a baker now🤦🏾♀️😂
Love watching your baking. I would find myself laughing "with you" sometimes. Thanks for this, during this difficult time the world is facing watching your channel helps pass time :)
It's very easy and I'm surprised by how delicious it turns out. It's soft and flavourful with a nice crispy crust. I didn't watch the whole video and only followed the instructions on the website but I didn't read carefully... I slightly pushed the bananas in and lightly sprinkle brown sugar all over the thing. It formed a crazy dome and the bananas on top turned out a bit blackened and looked spoiled although it is perfectly fine to eat.
Wanted to try a different recipe than what I use. Was on the look out for a recipe that would call for 3bananas as that's all I had, plus at most 2Cups of flour. Glad I checked this out! Worked with what I had as I'm used to playing around with recipes. Used Ginger powder, Cinnamon and Mixed Spice didn't have the rest. Also added some butter milk as I didn't have yogurt. Cut back the sugar as I've come to believe from my baking experiments that Sugar in my Country - Kenya is extra, extra sweet! ...or others have extra, extra sweet palates. It turned out so good with an even leveled top - w/o the halved bananas .
I cook my bananas on the stove before adding them to the mix. I can use double the amount of bananas without altering the texture of the bread as I simmer them long enough (until they reduce by half). Adds a much more intense natural banana flavor.
I used to put all the batter in one large loaf pan, and bake for 70 minutes. Every time it was done, it was also browner and dryer than real banana bread should be. So a few years ago, I figured it out. Wilton brand bakeware makes a four mini loaf pan that is perfect for the quantity of batter we make. I divide the batter evenly to the four loaves, and cut the bake time down to 40 minutes. The outer layer is as moist as the inside middle. Absolutely perfect. I never liked the taste of the outer skin of banana bread, as it was just too dry. And if you give away the mini loaves as gifts, that's great too. I usually have a friend I share with, and that's better than just cutting a large chunk out.
I tried out that recipe and wowww I switched up the spices though because where I am from there are more spices available and trust me this is a absolutely fantastic I loved it 😍😍
Due to completely forgetting about eating bananas my bro frequently makes banana bread, totally going to show him this as the bananas on top look fab! Sometimes he makes banana pancakes too ...yum!
I just made this yesterday and this is BETTER than any other banana bread I’ve ever made! I love the combination of all the spices :) its very delicious thank you!
I literally just made this and it turned out AMAZING😃. The mix of flavours is just too good. It's so delicious, I love love love it!!! Thank you for this beautiful recipe, I love your videos ❤
I made your banana cake. It turned out beautiful and my 10 year old daughter loves it!! Its super delicious and super moist.. thanks for the lovely recipe :)
A recipe that I like for "very moist" banana bread says to bake it at about 300F for a longer period of time, around 1 hour, 10 mins. I've used that method and the slower method did seem to make it "very moist". Thanks for your recipe.
*THIS RECIPE SAVED THE DAY!* I lost my usual (and ALL my own) recipes when my ext hard drive went dark... just before a big family event. I found this one that looked very close to my usual one so I went with this. I had to make 5 loaves and at the last moment found I had to play with the ingredients so I could make them. I only had a small toddlers sized Vanilla yogurt so I went with that, for another I had to use sour cream and another buttermilk. 2 were plain banana so I mushed half the bananas and chunked the other half. One I made with chocolate chips, another with walnuts and another raisins. Each one came out *PERFECT* - they were very moist and very flavorful. Oh I didn't have cardomon left, sadly, but they were fantastic anyway. This is my new go to recipe. Thanks! OH, and I made your apple cake a couple months ago, TO DIE FOR! :)
So I made banana bread I was happy with...and I lost the recipe. This is the first and only site I went to for a successful replacement recipe, so thank you. I wish we were neighbors.

You got me with the COCONUT OIL, soo true, it's medium fatty acids, and good for the body! Great recipe!!
This is by far the best banana bread ever!..
Thanks John. You never fail me.
Works well with wheat flour as well. So beautiful and delicious! Thank you! 😊
I like the addition of coconut oil and yogurt; not sure of the spices but I will try it as is then amend to my palate, if necessary. Thank you.

Hello , I made this banana bread recipe today and it was so easy and tastes delicious, thank you again Preppy Kitchen!!
A recipe that I like for "very moist" banana bread says to bake it at about 300F for a longer period of time, around 1 hour, 10 mins. I've used that method and the slower method did seem to make it "very moist". Thanks for your recipe.
Thank you John!! Your recipe us my HOLY GRAIL!! ❤
Your recipe is beyond fantastic, THANK YOU!
"and now it's time for the creaming of the fats" - me when I put my suncream on before going to the beach. 😀
