Looks great. When I see bakers using oil I move on. This was great. No fancy equipment and real time mixing . It’s gotta be delicious. You know when you have all your ingredience premeasured and laid out like that it is so helpful especially to beginner cooks. They can pause your video, check the ingredient list and get all set up just like you. You nailed it.

Hi Zinnia 🙂 Thanks so much for choosing my video to watch. I do love butter in this recipe, it really does add to the flavour profile. Thanks very much for your kind words I do appreciate them. 👍 I do have videos here on my channel that use oil, and sometimes I will use oil because I have many asking me if they can use oil for certain recipes instead of butter. Where I live, butter now on average is close to $8 a pound ( 454 grams ) so I fully appreciate and understand why many people want to go with oil. Anyway thanks so much for visiting my channel and watching Zinnia ! 🙂

This is by far the best banana bread video on UA-cam. Easy instructions and the no washing tons of stuff after. I love the fact that you can melt the butter and not have to wait for it to soften at room temp. That means I can bake at anytime as long as there are ripe bananas.🖐🖐🖐🖐🖐

Well it tastes just great despite me burning the top. I checked after an hour and ten and burnt the to, my wife has a fan assisted oven, guess that means I did not need the full one hour 15 but hey I was still real proud of myself :o)

You are so welcome Alan ! and... it is NEVER too late to start cooking or baking. It's fun, and it's relaxing. Always always get all your ingredients together first, it makes it so much easier. You can even do it the day before for many of the things, measure your stuff out and just put it off to the side so you're ready to go... what ever way somebody decided to do is good. 🙂

    • @BakeLikeAPro
      @BakeLikeAPro  Рік тому +1

Hi again Alan, ohhh yeah convection / forced fan mode on your oven ( for those who have that type of more expensive oven ) can have its drawbacks, it can push the tops of muffins and cupcakes over, it will shorten the baking time too. I never talk about a convection oven because the majority of people just don't own them, they are much more expensive than a regular oven, so I stick with what the majority of people would be using their own homes, but I should add a note to videos about that.

Hi HollyD 002 🙂 Yes !, walnuts are really "the" nut to add to all banana bread recipes. I do have other recipes that show this addition. Pecans are the second most added nut, but walnuts are much more widely used. Your addition of dried apricots sound lovely !! That is a great addition indeed !! Thanks so much for watching ! 😊

This is the best banana bread I have ever had. I thought my mother's was the best but this is better than hers. It's also better than the recipe on America's Test Kitchen. I followed the recipe to the letter and you are right, the Walnuts really make it spectacular. I live in Ecuador (I'm American) and bananas are a major export here so they taste really good. I used six little bananas, which equal three large ones in the States. The bread was perfect. The flavors are so varied and it smells amazing. Thank you so much for this recipe. I am keeping this to make for friends and myself for years to come.

@BakeLikeAPro Great recipe and just got more bananas today! Only problem I had was putting it in the middle of the oven and it took about 75 minutes to firm up in the middle. It was a little dry but that was my fault and not the recipe. I'll move the rack down when these bananas get a little riper!

This is baking right now in a non stick Bundt pan since I don’t have a glass or any other kind of bread pan as I’m typing. Will comment again on results. Okay, 45 min later…This was baked in a toaster oven in a non stick Bundt pan coated with PAM spray and dusted with flour. I was pretty sure this wasn’t gonna turn out exactly like in this video, but it was pretty good. Not too sweet, but just right for my taste. It was dense and moist. I brushed the top and bottom with melted butter so neither would be too dry. I baked for 30 - 40 min at 325 because it wasn’t baked in a glass pan or conventional oven. I used what was available to me. Will definitely make again and try it in a glass dish next time. Thanks for this really easy recipe 👍🏽😋

The ripeness of the bananas is key. Mine were inside a paper bag inside the oven for 2 whole weeks. They were pure nectar! I used 4 small bananas because they were small. I used bread flour, and I gave the walnuts a sprinkle of the bread flour before folding them into the batter. Also, my toothpick came out clean right at the the 60 minute mark. Easy, versatile, and so delicious.

same comment I left for you on the same comment on that other recipe:
Hi Girija, since this recipe contains so much banana, you may be able to get away without the eggs to make a great banana bread. To make up for the missing egg moisture, I would increase the liquid to make up for it. You can either increase the sour cream, or add milk or add some water. The amount ? ... I'd do about 1/4 cup of water or milk. I prefer to use milk, but any liquid will be 100% OK.

@@BakeLikeAPro I am making this today. Btw, did you use roasted or raw walnuts? Thanks.
      EDIT
And I did make it. I took a guess and used roasted walnuts. It's a hit with the family, my son asked if I can make it again ☺️

Just made this bread this morning. It is still in the oven after 60 minutes. I think this is due to my pan being metal and not glass. After the skewer came out a bit sticky I knew the middle was not quite done. I’m keeping it in the oven 10 minutes longer. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Hi retrocandeez, I hope your banana bread turned out great for you in the end ! Yes, glass and metal change baking time a little bit, but it also has a lot to do with your oven. Some ovens run hotter, some run cooler. Thanks so much for watching ! 😊

Probably the oven, because I baked mine in a glass loaf dish and it took 65mins until tester was dry. However this time the BB was rather dry. I shall take out of the oven when the tester is still a little sticky.

I was low on bananas once so I cut the inside of the skin lightly & scraped it. I had the best banana bread & now I always do that. Lots of extra flavor.
