Good tip about taping the loose tag end to the spool. I never thought about that. Also, you are the first UA-camr I've see cut the tag end of the overhand knot before putting it on the spool. It's easier that way.

great video! my fluorocarbon line on my baitcaster keeps getting loose like it won’t stay tight on my reel when casting. i made the correct adjustments only my reel and had tension on it when spooling any advice on what could be happening to cause this? bad quality line? i didn’t try the hot water could it because of the memory?
Aha! Hot water trick is great! Still not a fluorocarbon fan though…. Jus sayin lol.

The line only comes off the spool in one direction and only onto the reel in one direction. So the only tip is hot water lol

Hold the line spool horizontal. If you pull it off the top it is coming off in the opposite direction it is if you pull it off the bottom. Another way to think about it. If you pull off the top, the tag end points toward the floor. If you pull it off the bottom, the tag end tries to point to the ceiling.
