- Founder and CEO of The Idle Man, Oliver Tezcan is seeking an investment of £200,000 in return for a 5.5% equity stake. Based on Oliver's three-year forecast, he believes a valuation at the end of the forecast of £25 million, which should deliver the Dragons a 7X return of their initial investment, but when the Dragons figure out they're apart of a wider fundraising round, things go left...
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

Right!! £2 to 3 million to start up an online business??? I personally know of many people who have started real life businesses (with online stores as well) for LESS than that!

It’s not 3 million to start it will be around 3 million in losses before you start seeing a profit. There’s a slight difference

@@Locutus you do realise most business dont just fold in two days?
The investor's got out... It sold in 2019 to Oasis and Warehouse. They did go bust but then cashed out in the buy out and then oasis went bust.
Maurice, I don't think you understand how this works. Oasis and Warehouse bought this business in September last year, meaning all the investors got a big payday and walked away. O&W went into receivership seven months later. For O&W investors, that's called a successful exit.
I think this guy did something to Touker’s family or something. Or he is just tired of people coming in just for some air time, but I would take that out on the producers who’s job is to vet these type of people out.

4:30 A real testaent to Nick's entrepreneurial genius. It's amazing what you can do with nothing but drive, dedication, hard work, and 2.8 million pounds starting capital

Loads of these types of modern spiv in London, talking a great game but have never even ran a successful business, they live purely off free money from investors. Will spend £3 to earn £1 and call themselves an entrepreneur while spending most their time living the high life on the Bolivian marching powder.
The real problem is that money is too cheap, meaning that to get any decent return investors and banks go too far along the risk curve, ending up in spivs pockets with their BS business plans, which are purely a cover to fund their lifestyle and cocaine habit.
Well said 👏🏼
@osamabinsmokin yup but for an "undisclosed sum", probably peanuts seeing as it was haemorrhaging money, most likely a token £1. Or maybe even O&W shares which couldn't be sold for X years, making them worthless seeing as O&W has also imploded.

@Creatotron Oh, so how do you define "potential"?
Nope, this was different.

And no. They're nice to potential competitors for the most part I've seen.

Look up uber's finances
He valued the business at £3.6mill. He expects the value to increase to >£25mill to net 7x return for a dragon.
How much did Facebook lose before any income. How much did Assos lose before profitability?
@@Mikeytopping Listen, fruitcake Topping, it's merely unlikely (as opposed to impossible) for a company losing assloads of money to become successful. Those shoes are so 2023...
Amazing how many corporate executives just don't have a clue
Touker always makes offers that he knows they won’t take…
That’s the whole point…
I do think it's a bit boring when companies come onto Dragon's Den/Shark Tank and are looking to raise funds as part of a larger fundraising round. So I can understand that frustration on the part of the investors. However, it is also nice to see them not take total advantage of someone. Touker's offer of 60% for example was a transparent non-offer offer for which upon rejection he could use as an excuse to make the guy look like he didn't want to do a deal in the first place.
it wasn't an excuse. he was demonstrating the stupidness of the shareholders arrangement
60% was a blatant insult, not even a remotely legitimate offer.
Neither was £200,000 for 5.5% to a dragon and with no room for negotiation.
Which was kind of the point of why he offered all of the money for 60%.
Everyone : stay in, save lives
Jenny : I'm out
Toukar: I'll give you 200k for 60%. **He Declines**
Dragons: He's insulting us. HE NEVER CAME TO DO A DEAL. REEEEEEEEEEEE
He's basically showing him the ridiculousness of his offer.
Tourkor was pissed, when the guy started his pitch and said something about some people don’t want to buy from High Street. I saw the look on Toukor’s face. He was highly insulted.
he’s not wrong tho nobody buys on the high street anymore

Touker was breathing fire today. 😂😂
Touker has always been my favourite. Always sad to see how entrepreneurs avoid him and go for the more "cooler" dragons or the long established PJ. Touker really knows his stuff. he'd be my preferred dragon anyday.
He is a strange cross between David Essex & Snooker player Anthony Hamilton.

But it's just silly to think you can ask for an investment with LITERALLY NO ROOM TO NEGOTIATE.

Whatever Touker got out of bed for that morning, it was definitely on the wrong side. Just look at 3:13
He clearly got out of bed to throw some hands that day 🤷🏻♂️
Touker didn't offer office space?
He's gone mad
Anything they do on there isn't final, it's just a verbal, informal agreement. I would have accepted Touker's (insulting) offer at 60% just to see his reaction then later, off-camera tell him i'm declining because i've just got word from another investor with a better offer.
I guess this brightspark CEO is now “The Idle Man”
Touker had to get out of bed to hear the offer that’s why he is so pissed. Touker dose not get out of bed for 5%

Nick Jenkins' statement on his losses was quite surprising.
touker was having a bad day
Don't know why Touker made the offer that he made. Nobody with any kind of business set up would ever take that.
Because he was highlighting how ridiculous the entrepreneur was. Nobody was ever going to take 5.5%, the guy spent the entire time taking the piss out of the dragons.
Did you watch the video?
Touker loves wasting people's time with these ridiculous offers. Even a functional business rarely get an offer for over 50% equity. The guy should've accepted Touker's offer and let the programme's PR team intervene just for jokes. They're not even allowed to make a deal that way on the show.
from the start I can see Peter's annoyance at the valuation.
5.5% before and then you get diluted, that sound like a great deal xD
you didnt get what he said lol
It would be 5.5% after dilution; the Dragon and everyone else in the second round would be diluting the first-round investors.
Demokrat11 the worry is, the future dilution to their 5.5% if they were to go through another funding round
